¹ Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers;

²⁴ Enoch walked with God. Then he was no more, because God took (moved) him away.

⁶ My soul, don't come into their council. My glory, don't be united to their assembly; for in their anger they killed men. In their self-will they hamstrung cattle.

²⁷ "'If in spite of this you do not listen to me and still resist me, ²⁸ then I will go against you in hostile anger, and also I myself will discipline you seven times for your sins.

² Moreover, all these blessings will come upon you in abundance, if you obey the LORD your God: ³ You shall be blessed in the city, and be blessed in the field. ⁴ The fruit of your body will be blessed and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock. ⁵ Your basket and your kneading-trough will be blessed. ⁶ You shall be blessed when you come in, and blessed when you go out. ⁷ The LORD will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways. ⁸ "the LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land the LORD your God gives you. ⁹ "the LORD will establish you as a holy people to himself. He swore this to you, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. ¹⁰ And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall fear you. ¹¹ the LORD will grant you abundant prosperity in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. ¹² the LORD will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, and you will not borrow. ¹³ The Lord will make you the head and not the tail; and you will ever have the highest place, if you give ear to the orders of the Lord your God which I give you today, to keep and to do them; ¹⁴ and do not turn aside from any of the words I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. ¹⁵ "But if you don't obey the LORD your God and faithfully carry out all his commands and statutes that I'm giving you today, then all these curses will come upon you and overwhelm you. ¹⁶ You shall be cursed in the city, and cursed in the field. ¹⁷ Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed. ¹⁸ "The fruit of your womb shall be cursed and the fruit of you ground, the calves of your cattle and the lambs of your flock. ¹⁹ You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out. ²⁰ the LORD will send on you cursing, confusion and rebuke in all that you put your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your doings by which you have forsaken Him. ²¹ The LORD will cause you to be ill with long-lasting diseases until you are wiped out from the land that you are entering to possess. ²² the LORD shall smite you with attenuation, with fever and inflammation, with hot heat and drought, with blasting and mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish. ²³ The sky above your head will become bronze while the ground beneath you will become iron. ²⁴ the LORD will make the rain of your land powder and dust. It will come down on you from the sky, until you are destroyed. ²⁵ "the LORD will cause you to be stricken before your enemies. You will go out one way against them, and flee seven ways from them. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. ²⁶ Your bodies will be meat for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth; there will be no one to send them away. ²⁷ the LORD will strike you with the boil of Egypt and with the tumours, the scurvy and the itch, from which you cannot be healed. ²⁸ The LORD shall strike you with madness, and blindness, and confusion of mind: ²⁹ and you will grope at noonday, as the blind man gropes in darkness. And you will not prosper in your ways. And you will only be oppressed and robbed always and there will be none to save you. ³⁰ You'll be engaged to a woman, but another man will rape her. You'll build a house but you won't live in it. You'll plant a vineyard but you won't harvest it. ³¹ Your ox will be slain before your eyes and you will not eat of it. Your donkey will be violently taken away from before your face and will not be restored to you. Your sheep will be given to your enemies and you will have none to save you. ³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to other people, and you will be looking on longingly for them all day, but you will be powerless to do anything. ³³ A people whom you don't know will devour what your land and labor produces. You'll be only oppressed and discouraged continually ³⁴ so that the sights that you see with your eyes will drive you mad. ³⁵ The LORD shall strike you in the knees, and in the legs, with painful boils that cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot unto the top of your head. ³⁶ "the LORD will bring you and your king, whom you set over you, to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known. There you will serve other gods made of wood and stone. ³⁷ And you will become a wonder and a name of shame among all the nations where the Lord will take you. ³⁸ You shall carry much seed out to the field, and you shall gather in little; for the locusts will devour it. ³⁹ You will plant vineyards and dress them, but you will neither drink of the wine, nor harvest, because worms will eat them. ⁴⁰ You will have olive trees throughout all your borders, but you won't anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off. ⁴¹ You will beget sons and daughters, but they will not be your, for they will go into captivity. ⁴² »Locusts will take over all your trees and the fruit of your land. ⁴³ The foreigner who is among you will mount up above you higher and higher, and you will come down lower and lower. ⁴⁴ He will lend to you and you will not lend to him. He will be the head and you will be the tail. ⁴⁵ All these curses will come on you, and will pursue you and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you didn't listen to the LORD your God's voice, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded you. ⁴⁶ They will be for a sign and for a wonder to you and to your offspring forever. ⁴⁷ "Because you didn't serve the LORD your God joyfully and wholeheartedly, despite the abundance of everything you have, ⁴⁸ therefore you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh sends against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in lack of all things. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you. ⁴⁹ "the LORD will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, as the eagle swoops down, a nation whose language you will not understand, ⁵⁰ A hard-faced nation, who will have no respect for the old or mercy for the young: ⁵¹ And it shall consume the fruit of your livestock and the fruit of your ground until you are destroyed, and who will not leave for you any grain, wine, and olive oil, calves of your herds, and lambs of your flock until it has destroyed you. ⁵² "They will blockade all your cities until the high, fortified walls you trust come down everywhere in your land. They will blockade all the cities everywhere in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. ⁵³ "Because of the hardships your enemies will make you suffer during the blockade, you will eat the flesh of your own children, the sons and daughters, whom the LORD your God has given you. ⁵⁴ "The kindest and most sensitive man among you will become stingy toward his brother, the wife he loves, and the children he still has left. ⁵⁵ »He will give none of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating. It will be all that he has left. These are hardships your enemies will make you suffer during the blockade of all your cities. ⁵⁶ "The kindest and most sensitive woman among you, so sensitive and tender that she would not even step on an ant, will become stingy toward the husband she loves or toward her own son or daughter. ⁵⁷ She will eat her afterbirth and her newborn children secretly since there will be nothing left on account of the siege and distress with which your enemy will oppress you in your cities." ⁵⁸ If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, the LORD your God, ⁵⁹ then he will inflict extraordinary plagues on you and your children, great and lasting plagues, and severe and lasting illnesses. ⁶⁰ "He will bring all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded. They will cling to you. ⁶¹ "the LORD will also bring you every kind of sickness and plague not written in this Book of the Law. They will continue until you are dead. ⁶² "You were at one time as numerous as the stars in the sky. But only a few of you will be left. This is because you did not obey the LORD your God. ⁶³ Just as the LORD delighted to prosper and increase you, so now the LORD will delight to destroy, exterminate, and banish you from the land that you are about to enter to possess." ⁶⁴ "He'll scatter you among the peoples from one end of the earth to the other, and there you'll serve other gods made of wood and stones, which neither you nor your ancestors have known. ⁶⁵ Among those nations you'll have no rest. There'll be no resting place for the soles of your feet. Instead, the LORD will give you an anxious heart, failing eyesight, and a despairing spirit. ⁶⁶ You'll cling to life, being fearful by both night and day, with no assurance of survival. ⁶⁷ In the morning you will say, If only it was evening! And at evening you will say, If only morning would come! Because of the fear in your hearts and the things which your eyes will see. ⁶⁸ Finally, the LORD will bring you back to Egypt by ship, a place that I said you'll never see again. There you'll try to sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you."

²⁹ How blessed are you, Israel! Who can be like you, a people delivered by the LORD, your shield of help and your finely crafted sword. May your enemies cower before you. You will tread down their high places.

³¹ It did not suffice him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nabat; but he took to wife Jezabel, a daughter of Jethebaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

³ He also walked in the ways of the house of Achab: for his mother pushed him on to do wickedly.

³ "'Does it please you to oppress me, to spurn the work of your hands, while you smile on the schemes of the wicked?

¹⁶ Lo, their prosperity is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me

⁵ "If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit

⁶ for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed (happy) are all who take refuge (put trust) in him.

⁴ I do not sit with deceitful people, nor will I go about with hypocrites. ⁵ I hate the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.

¹² My foot stands on level ground. In assemblies I will bless the LORD.

¹ {Of David. Instruction.} Blessed is he [whose] transgression is forgiven, [whose] sin is covered! ² Blessed is the man to whom LORD does not impute sin, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

⁸ Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

⁴ He plans sin on his bed. He puts himself on a way that is not good. He does not reject evil.

² Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the noisy crowd of the ones doing evil;

¹² "Therefore I gave them over to their stubborn hearts. They walked in their own counsel.

¹² O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

³ Blessed are those who observe justice, he who does righteousness at all times.

¹ Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD; he takes great delight in his commands.

¹² The LORD remembers us. He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel. He will bless the house of Aaron. ¹³ He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great. ¹⁴ May the LORD give you increase, you and your children. ¹⁵ May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

¹ ALEPH. Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. ² Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart.

¹¹⁵ Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.

¹⁵ Blessed are the people who have it thus. Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.

⁵ Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

⁹ the LORD protects the strangers. He supports the fatherless and the widow, but he overthrows the way of the wicked.

¹⁵ My son, do not go along with them, and keep your feet away from their paths!

²² "How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

¹² to rescue you from the way of evil - from the man who words perversions:

³⁴ Surely He mocks the mockers, but He gives grace to the humble.

¹⁴ Do not enter into the path of the wicked. Do not walk in the way of evil men. ¹⁵ Avoid it; do not pass by it; turn from it, and pass on!

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is like darkness. They do not know what makes them stumble.

¹² If you are wise, your wisdom will assist you. If you mock, you alone will be held responsible.

¹⁵ Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard.

²⁰ One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

²⁹ Penalties are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the back of fools.

¹⁷ I didn't sit in the assembly of those who make merry and rejoice. I sat alone because of your hand, for you have filled me with indignation.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose confidence is in the LORD.

¹⁸ I said to their children in the wilderness, 'Don't walk in the statutes of your fathers. Don't observe their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.

¹³ Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. ¹⁴ But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.

¹⁷ Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven.

²⁸ But He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

⁵¹ who had not consented to their decision or action. He was from the Judean town of Arimathea, and was waiting for the kingdom of God.

¹⁷ If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

²⁹ Jesus said to him, Because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are those who have not seen, and yet have believed.

² through whom we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of the glory of God.

¹³ Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to withstand it; and after you have done everything, to stand firm.

³ For you have spent enough time in the past doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry.

¹⁴ Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
