⁵ You prepare a table before me, even in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

²⁴ There is one who scatters yet increases more; but a withholder of just due comes only to poverty. ²⁵ The liberal person will prosper. He who waters will be watered.

⁸ But the noble thinks noble things; and by noble things he shall stand.

⁷ "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house? When you see the naked, should you cover him and not hide yourself from your own flesh?

¹⁰ and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will be like midday. ¹¹ the LORD will continually guide you. He will satisfy your desire in scorched places and give strength to your bones. You will be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

²⁰ They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

¹² Then he said to his host, When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your kinsmen, or your rich neighbours; lest they invite you in return, and you are repaid. ¹³ But whenever you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; ¹⁴ and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you—you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
