Titus 3 Cross References - VIN

1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable and gentle, and to show true humility toward all men. 3 For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; 7 so that having been justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This teaching is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. 9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the Law; for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 Warn a man who is factious once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him, 11 you may be sure that such a man is perverted and sinning, and is self-condemned. 12 As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to spend the winter there. 13 Do all you can to send Zenas the expert in the law and Apollos on their way, and see that they have everything they need. 14 Our people must also learn to devote themselves to good deeds, so that they may help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful. 15 All who are with me send you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

Romans 13:1-7

1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God. 2 Consequently, the one who resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror for those who do good works, but to those who do evil. Do you want to have no fear of the one in authority? do that which is good, and you shall have his praise: 4 For he is God's servant to you for good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain; he is God's servant, an avenger to execute wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to authority, not only to avoid punishment, but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes. For the authorities are God’s servants, who devote themselves to their work. 7 Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Romans 3:9-20

9 What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin. 10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned away; they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. 13 Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit; the venom of vipers is on their lips; 14 Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. 15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood. 16 ruin and misery [are] in their ways, 17 and the way of peace they do not know." 18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes." 19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no flesh will be justified in his sight by works of the law, for through the law comes knowledge of sin.

Galatians 3:16-21

16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many, but “and to your seed,” meaning One, who is Christ. 17 What I mean is this: The Law that came four hundred thirty years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to cancel the promise. 18 For if the inheritance depends on the Law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God freely granted it to Abraham through a promise. 19 Why then was the Law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the seed to whom the promise referred. It was administered through angels by a mediator. 20 Now a mediator does not represent just one party; but God is one. 21 Is the Law, then, opposed to the promises of God? Not at all! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come from the Law.

15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many! 16 Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! 18 The result of one trespass was condemnation for all men. The result of righteousness was justification (acquittal), which brings life for all men. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7 Get rid of the old yeast, that you may be a new unleavened batch, as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people. 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, greedy, robbers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a verbal abuser, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. 12 What business of mine is it to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.”

In the end it will be burned. 9 Even though we speak like this, beloved, we are confident of better things in your case, things that accompany salvation. 10 God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so. 11 We want each of you to show the same diligence to the very end, so that your hope may be fully assured. 12 Then you will not be sluggish, but will imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
