¹¹ Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.

³² Then his lord called him in, and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt, because you begged me. ³³ Shouldn’t you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?’

³⁷ He said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

³⁴ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.

¹² “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. ¹³ Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

⁸ I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

³¹ Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.

¹³ bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

¹⁶ By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. ¹⁷ But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?

²³ This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.
