¹ By David. Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. ³ Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident. ⁴ One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple. ⁵ For in the day of trouble, he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the secret place of his tabernacle, he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock. ⁶ Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh. ⁷ Hear, Yahweh, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy also on me, and answer me. ⁸ When you said, “Seek my face,” my heart said to you, “I will seek your face, Yahweh.” ⁹ Don’t hide your face from me. Don’t put your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Don’t abandon me, neither forsake me, God of my salvation. ¹⁰ When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. ¹¹ Teach me your way, Yahweh. Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies. ¹² Don’t deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, such as breathe out cruelty. ¹³ I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. ¹⁴ Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.

² Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

³ when his lamp shone on my head, and by his light I walked through darkness,

He said, I love you, Yahweh, my strength. ² Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

²⁸ For you will light my lamp, Yahweh. My God will light up my darkness.

⁴⁶ Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock. Exalted be the God of my salvation,

¹⁴ Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer.

⁷ Yahweh is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him. ⁸ Yahweh is their strength. He is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

² For you are the God of my strength. Why have you rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

¹ For the Chief Musician. By the sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ² Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;

² My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me. ³ When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. ⁴ In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

² He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress. I will never be greatly shaken.

⁶ Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

² Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust, and will not be afraid; for Yah, Yahweh, is my strength and song; and he has become my salvation.”

²⁴ They will say of me, ‘There is righteousness and strength only in Yahweh.’” Even to him will men come. All those who raged against him will be disappointed.

⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens will vanish away like smoke, and the earth will wear out like a garment. Its inhabitants will die in the same way, but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will not be abolished. ⁷ “Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law. Don’t fear the reproach of men, and don’t be dismayed at their insults. ⁸ For the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool; but my righteousness will be forever, and my salvation to all generations.”

¹ “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you. ² For, behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. ³ Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

¹⁹ The sun will be no more your light by day; nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you, but Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. ²⁰ Your sun will not go down any more, nor will your moon withdraw itself; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will end.

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in Yahweh! My soul will be joyful in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

⁷ But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. ⁸ Don’t rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, Yahweh will be a light to me.

² But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall.

²⁶ He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

³⁰ for my eyes have seen your salvation,

⁶ All flesh will see God’s salvation.’”

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. ⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.

⁹ The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

¹² Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

³¹ What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

⁹ He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

⁶ So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

¹⁰ They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

²³ The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

⁵ There will be no night, and they need no lamp light or sun light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever.

²² Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

³¹ if the men of my tent have not said, ‘Who can find one who has not been filled with his meat?’

⁷ Arise, Yahweh! Save me, my God! For you have struck all of my enemies on the cheek bone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

³ When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish in your presence.

⁴ Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on Yahweh?

⁴ The cords of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

³⁸ I will strike them through, so that they will not be able to rise. They shall fall under my feet. ³⁹ For you have armed me with strength to the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. ⁴⁰ You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me. ⁴¹ They cried, but there was no one to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them. ⁴² Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind. I cast them out as the mire of the streets.

¹⁶ For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet.

⁴ Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on God?

³ How long will you assault a man? Would all of you throw him down, like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? ⁴ They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place. They delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

¹² They surrounded me like bees. They are quenched like the burning thorns. In Yahweh’s name I cut them off.

¹⁵ Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”

³ Judas then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. ⁴ Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went out, and said to them, “Who are you looking for?” ⁵ They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am he.” Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them. ⁶ When therefore he said to them, “I am he,” they went backward, and fell to the ground.

¹⁵ Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up?” Saul answered, “I am very distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me, and answers me no more, by prophets, or by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do.” ¹⁶ Samuel said, “Why then do you ask me, since Yahweh has departed from you and has become your adversary?

¹⁵ When the servant of the man of God had risen early, and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. His servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” ¹⁶ He answered, “Don’t be afraid; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” ¹⁷ Elisha prayed, and said, “Yahweh, please open his eyes, that he may see.” Yahweh opened the young man’s eyes; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.

¹⁵ and he said, “Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, king Jehoshaphat. Yahweh says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed because of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

⁶ Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?

⁶ I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.

⁶ The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,

¹¹ Behold, all those who are incensed against you will be disappointed and confounded. Those who strive with you will be like nothing, and shall perish. ¹² You will seek them, and won’t find them, even those who contend with you. Those who war against you will be as nothing, as a non-existent thing.

¹⁶ “Behold, I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame, and forges a weapon for his work; and I have created the destroyer to destroy. ¹⁷ No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” ³⁷ No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

⁶ Therefore we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; ⁷ for we walk by faith, not by sight. ⁸ We are courageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

²⁸ and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

¹⁴ But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”

¹⁰ Don’t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

⁷ There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war. ⁸ They didn’t prevail. No place was found for them any more in heaven. ⁹ The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. ¹¹ She vowed a vow, and said, “Yahweh of Armies, if you will indeed look at the affliction of your servant and remember me, and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a boy, then I will give him to Yahweh all the days of his life, and no razor shall come on his head.”

¹⁰ He inquired of Yahweh for him, gave him food, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”

⁸ David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “If I pursue after this troop, will I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue; for you will surely overtake them, and will without fail recover all.”

¹ There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the face of Yahweh. Yahweh said, “It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”

¹³ So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Yahweh, because of Yahweh’s word, which he didn’t keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire, ¹⁴ and didn’t inquire of Yahweh. Therefore he killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.

⁶ Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.

⁶ I will wash my hands in innocence, so I will go about your altar, Yahweh,

⁸ Yahweh, I love the habitation of your house, the place where your glory dwells.

⁸ When you said, “Seek my face,” my heart said to you, “I will seek your face, Yahweh.”

² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines out.

² So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory. ³ Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. ⁴ So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name. ⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,

⁴ Blessed is the one whom you choose and cause to come near, that he may live in your courts. We will be filled with the goodness of your house, your holy temple.

⁴ Blessed are those who dwell in your house. They are always praising you. Selah.

¹⁰ For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

¹⁷ Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us. Establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands.

¹³ You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.

³ I set my face to the Lord God, to seek by prayer and petitions, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

³³ But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

⁷ “Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

³⁷ and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

²⁴ “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.

⁶ seeing it is God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

³³ He makes my feet like deer’s feet, and sets me on my high places.

²⁰ In the shelter of your presence you will hide them from the plotting of man. You will keep them secretly in a dwelling away from the strife of tongues.

⁶ For this, let everyone who is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found. Surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach to him. ⁷ You are my hiding place. You will preserve me from trouble. You will surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

²⁴ Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention; ²⁵ but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof; ²⁶ I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you, ²⁷ when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you. ²⁸ Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me;

¹⁰ Yahweh’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.

⁵ Yahweh will create over the whole habitation of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night, for over all the glory will be a canopy. ⁶ There will be a pavilion for a shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a refuge and for a shelter from storm and from rain.

¹⁶ Yahweh, in trouble they have visited you. They poured out a prayer when your chastening was on them.

²⁰ Come, my people, enter into your rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for a little moment, until the indignation is past.

² A man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the storm, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a large rock in a weary land.

²⁴ “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. ²⁵ The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.

¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” ¹⁷ Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. ¹⁸ I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.

¹³ Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head, and restore you to your office. You will give Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, the way you did when you were his cup bearer.

⁹ I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.

¹ David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,

⁴⁹ who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.

²⁷ In the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;

¹⁸ “Isn’t Yahweh your God with you? Hasn’t he given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Yahweh, and before his people.

²¹ The children of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness. The Levites and the priests praised Yahweh day by day, singing with loud instruments to Yahweh. ²² Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who had good understanding in the service of Yahweh. So they ate throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of peace offerings, and making confession to Yahweh, the God of their fathers. ²³ The whole assembly took counsel to keep another seven days, and they kept another seven days with gladness. ²⁴ For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly for offerings one thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves. ²⁵ All the assembly of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the assembly who came out of Israel, and the foreigners who came out of the land of Israel, and who lived in Judah, rejoiced. ²⁶ So there was great joy in Jerusalem; for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was nothing like this in Jerusalem.

¹¹ They sang to one another in praising and giving thanks to Yahweh, “For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever toward Israel.” All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Yahweh, because the foundation of Yahweh’s house had been laid. ¹² But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ households, the old men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. Many also shouted aloud for joy, ¹³ so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people; for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.

³ But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.

¹ For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. The king rejoices in your strength, Yahweh! How greatly he rejoices in your salvation!

¹³ Be exalted, Yahweh, in your strength, so we will sing and praise your power.

²² I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the assembly, I will praise you. ²³ You who fear Yahweh, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him! Stand in awe of him, all you descendants of Israel! ²⁴ For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, Neither has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard. ²⁵ My praise of you comes in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

⁶ I will wash my hands in innocence, so I will go about your altar, Yahweh, ⁷ that I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard and tell of all your wondrous deeds.

³ Oh, send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill, to your tents. ⁴ Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.

¹³ I will come into your temple with burnt offerings. I will pay my vows to you, ¹⁴ which my lips promised, and my mouth spoke, when I was in distress. ¹⁵ I will offer to you burnt offerings of fat animals, with the offering of rams, I will offer bulls with goats. Selah. ¹⁶ Come and hear, all you who fear God. I will declare what he has done for my soul.

¹ Oh come, let’s sing to Yahweh. Let’s shout aloud to the rock of our salvation!

¹ A Psalm of thanksgiving. Shout for joy to Yahweh, all you lands! ² Serve Yahweh with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.

²² Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his deeds with singing.

⁷ He will drink of the brook on the way; therefore he will lift up his head.

¹⁷ I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on Yahweh’s name. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows to Yahweh, yes, in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of Yahweh’s house, in the middle of you, Jerusalem. Praise Yah!

⁵ Yes, they will sing of the ways of Yahweh, for Yahweh’s glory is great!

⁶ Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for the Holy One of Israel is great among you!”

⁷ For Yahweh says, “Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout for the chief of the nations. Publish, praise, and say, ‘Yahweh, save your people, the remnant of Israel!’

¹¹ the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say, ‘Give thanks to Yahweh of Armies, for Yahweh is good, for his loving kindness endures forever;’ who bring thanksgiving into Yahweh’s house. For I will cause the captivity of the land to be reversed as at the first,” says Yahweh.

¹⁴ Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.

³⁷ As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen, ³⁸ saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”

¹⁹ speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; ²⁰ giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;

¹⁵ Through him, then, let’s offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which proclaim allegiance to his name.

⁵ You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁹ They sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

³ They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty! Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations.

¹ For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm by David. Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness. Give me relief from my distress. Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

² Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for I pray to you.

³ Behold, and answer me, Yahweh, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;

² Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions. ³ If you, Yah, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? ⁴ But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared.

¹ A Psalm by David. Hear my prayer, Yahweh. Listen to my petitions. In your faithfulness and righteousness, relieve me. ² Don’t enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous.

⁶ This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face—even Jacob. Selah.

¹ A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah. God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water. ² So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.

⁴ Seek Yahweh and his strength. Seek his face forever more.

⁵⁸ I sought your favor with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to your word.

¹⁹ I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness. I didn’t say to the offspring of Jacob, ‘Seek me in vain.’ I, Yahweh, speak righteousness. I declare things that are right.

⁶ Seek Yahweh while he may be found. Call on him while he is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon.

¹² You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. ¹³ You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.

¹⁵ I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.”

¹² Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Yahweh helped us until now.”

⁹ You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Yahweh searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

¹ For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?

⁵ He shall receive a blessing from Yahweh, righteousness from the God of his salvation.

²¹ Don’t forsake me, Yahweh. My God, don’t be far from me. ²² Hurry to help me, Lord, my salvation.

²⁴ Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?

¹¹ Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

¹⁷ Don’t hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me speedily!

⁵ For you are my hope, Lord Yahweh, my confidence from my youth. ⁶ I have relied on you from the womb. You are he who took me out of my mother’s womb. I will always praise you.

¹⁷ God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works. ¹⁸ Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

¹ A Song. A Psalm by the sons of Korah. For the Chief Musician. To the tune of “The Suffering of Affliction.” A contemplation by Heman, the Ezrahite. Yahweh, the God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before you.

² Don’t hide your face from me in the day of my distress. Turn your ear to me. Answer me quickly in the day when I call.

¹²¹ AYIN I have done what is just and righteous. Don’t leave me to my oppressors.

⁷ Hurry to answer me, Yahweh. My spirit fails. Don’t hide your face from me, so that I don’t become like those who go down into the pit.

³ “Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been carried from their birth, that have been carried from the womb. ⁴ Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver.

¹ Yahweh says, “Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce, with which I have put her away? Or to which of my creditors have I sold you? Behold, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother was put away for your transgressions.

² But your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

⁴⁰ I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good. I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.

⁹ Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead, ¹⁰ who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear. So I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

⁵ Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”

¹¹ David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.

⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother’s children.

¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.

¹⁵ “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!

²¹ “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. ²² You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

³⁶ A man’s foes will be those of his own household.

³⁵ Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and finding him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”

³² Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

¹⁶ At my first defense, no one came to help me, but all left me. May it not be held against them.

⁸ Lead me, Yahweh, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face.

⁴ Show me your ways, Yahweh. Teach me your paths. ⁵ Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.

⁹ He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.

¹² What man is he who fears Yahweh? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose.

¹² My foot stands in an even place. In the congregations I will bless Yahweh.

⁵ He will repay the evil to my enemies. Destroy them in your truth.

⁵ All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil. ⁶ They conspire and lurk, watching my steps. They are eager to take my life.

⁶ They plot injustice, saying, “We have made a perfect plan!” Surely man’s mind and heart are cunning.

¹¹ Teach me your way, Yahweh. I will walk in your truth. Make my heart undivided to fear your name.

¹⁰ With my whole heart, I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments.

⁸ Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you. ⁹ Deliver me, Yahweh, from my enemies. I flee to you to hide me. ¹⁰ Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.

⁶ For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. ⁷ He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, ⁸ that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints. ⁹ Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.

⁹ They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.

¹⁹ The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch, but the path of the upright is a highway.

²⁰ Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers won’t be hidden any more, but your eyes will see your teachers; ²¹ and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”

⁸ A highway will be there, a road, and it will be called “The Holy Way”. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it will be for those who walk in the Way. Wicked fools shall not go there.

¹⁰ For I have heard the defaming of many, “Terror on every side! Denounce, and we will denounce him!” say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. “Perhaps he will be persuaded, and we will prevail against him, and we will take our revenge on him.”

⁴ Then the presidents and the local governors sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion or fault, because he was faithful. There wasn’t any error or fault found in him. ⁵ Then these men said, “We won’t find any occasion against this Daniel, unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

⁴ As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight. ⁵ Every valley will be filled. Every mountain and hill will be brought low. The crooked will become straight, and the rough ways smooth. ⁶ All flesh will see God’s salvation.’”

²⁰ They watched him and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.

¹⁶ “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

⁹ Then Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul, answered and said, “I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. ¹⁰ He inquired of Yahweh for him, gave him food, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”

¹⁹ Now therefore, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is so that Yahweh has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering. But if it is the children of men, they are cursed before Yahweh; for they have driven me out today that I shouldn’t cling to Yahweh’s inheritance, saying, ‘Go, serve other gods!’

⁷ Shimei said when he cursed, “Be gone, be gone, you man of blood, and wicked fellow! ⁸ Yahweh has returned on you all the blood of Saul’s house, in whose place you have reigned! Yahweh has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son! Behold, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood!”

¹⁹ Consider my enemies, for they are many. They hate me with cruel hatred.

⁸ You have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy. You have set my feet in a large place.

¹¹ Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I don’t know about.

²⁵ Don’t let them say in their heart, “Aha! That’s the way we want it!” Don’t let them say, “We have swallowed him up!”

¹⁶ For I said, “Don’t let them gloat over me, or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips.”

² Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive. He shall be blessed on the earth, and he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.

¹¹ By this I know that you delight in me, because my enemy doesn’t triumph over me.

⁸ Yahweh, don’t grant the desires of the wicked. Don’t let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah.

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death; ⁶⁰ and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward,

¹¹ Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.” ¹² They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came against him and seized him, then brought him in to the council, ¹³ and set up false witnesses who said, “This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the law.

¹ But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest

¹¹ Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

¹³ Man doesn’t know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.

³⁰ to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.

¹⁹ Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men!

⁵ Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.

⁵ God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.

³ When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.

¹³ For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.

⁹ I will walk before Yahweh in the land of the living. ¹⁰ I believed, therefore I said, “I was greatly afflicted.” ¹¹ I said in my haste, “All people are liars.”

⁵ I cried to you, Yahweh. I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

¹¹ I said, “I won’t see Yah, Yah in the land of the living. I will see man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

¹⁹ The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do today. The father shall make known your truth to the children.

¹⁹ But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter. I didn’t know that they had devised plans against me, saying, “Let’s destroy the tree with its fruit, and let’s cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.”

²⁰ then I will bring you down with those who descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make you dwell in the lower parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living.

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint.

⁸ We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; ⁹ pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; ¹⁰ always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. ¹¹ For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh. ¹² So then death works in us, but life in you. ¹³ But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, “I believed, and therefore I spoke.” We also believe, and therefore we also speak; ¹⁴ knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with you.

¹⁶ Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.

⁸ for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

¹⁸ I have waited for your salvation, Yahweh.

³ Yes, no one who waits for you will be shamed. They will be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.

²¹ Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.

²⁴ Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in Yahweh.

²⁰ Our soul has waited for Yahweh. He is our help and our shield.

³⁴ Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

¹ For the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm by David. My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.

⁵ My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him.

⁵ I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word.

³ In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.

²² Don’t say, “I will pay back evil.” Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you.

¹⁷ I will wait for Yahweh, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

⁹ It shall be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is Yahweh! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!”

⁸ Yes, in the way of your judgments, Yahweh, we have waited for you. Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul.

¹⁸ Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.

³¹ but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

²⁶ It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yahweh.

³ For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay.

²⁵ Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.

³⁸ Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.

¹⁵ From there the brothers, when they heard of us, came to meet us as far as The Market of Appius and The Three Taverns. When Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage.

²⁵ But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

¹³ Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!

⁹ He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

¹¹ strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy,

⁵ But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry. ⁶ For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come. ⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. ⁸ From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
