¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” ³ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. ⁴ He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. ⁵ You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, ⁶ nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. ⁷ A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. ⁸ You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked. ⁹ Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, ¹⁰ no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. ¹¹ For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. ¹² They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone. ¹³ You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot. ¹⁴ “Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name. ¹⁵ He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him. ¹⁶ I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.”

¹⁵ “The bramble said to the trees, ‘If in truth you anoint me king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade; and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.’

¹ David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, the captains of the companies who served the king by division, the captains of thousands, the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officers and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valor, to Jerusalem. ² Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said, “Hear me, my brothers, and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building. ³ But God said to me, ‘You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’ ⁴ However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel. ⁵ Of all my sons (for Yahweh has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of Yahweh’s kingdom over Israel. ⁶ He said to me, ‘Solomon, your son, shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. ⁷ I will establish his kingdom forever if he continues to do my commandments and my ordinances, as it is today.’ ⁸ Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, Yahweh’s assembly, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Yahweh your God; that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever. ⁹ You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Yahweh searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. ¹⁰ Take heed now; for Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be strong, and do it.” ¹¹ Then David gave to Solomon his son the plans for the porch of the temple, for its houses, for its treasuries, for its upper rooms, for its inner rooms, for the place of the mercy seat; ¹² and the plans of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of Yahweh’s house, for all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of God’s house, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things; ¹³ also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the work of the service of Yahweh’s house, and for all the vessels of service in Yahweh’s house; ¹⁴ of gold by weight for the gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service; ¹⁵ by weight also for the lamp stands of gold, and for its lamps, of gold, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps; and for the lamp stands of silver, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps, according to the use of every lamp stand; ¹⁶ and the gold by weight for the tables of show bread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver; ¹⁷ and the forks, the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl; ¹⁸ and for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the plans for the chariot, and the cherubim that spread out and cover the ark of Yahweh’s covenant. ¹⁹ “All this”, David said, “I have been made to understand in writing from Yahweh’s hand, even all the works of this pattern.” ²⁰ David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do it. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed; for Yahweh God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you, nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of Yahweh’s house is finished. ²¹ Behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of God’s house. Every willing man who has skill, for any kind of service, shall be with you in all kinds of work. Also the captains and all the people will be entirely at your command.”

⁸ Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,

¹³ His soul will dwell at ease. His offspring will inherit the land.

⁵ For in the day of trouble, he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the secret place of his tabernacle, he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.

²⁰ In the shelter of your presence you will hide them from the plotting of man. You will keep them secretly in a dwelling away from the strife of tongues.

⁷ You are my hiding place. You will preserve me from trouble. You will surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

⁷ How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.

⁸ But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.

⁵ Yahweh will create over the whole habitation of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night, for over all the glory will be a canopy. ⁶ There will be a pavilion for a shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a refuge and for a shelter from storm and from rain.

¹⁴ He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.

⁴ For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the dreaded ones is like a storm against the wall.

² A man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the storm, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a large rock in a weary land.

²⁰ The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; of whom we said, under his shadow we will live among the nations.

¹⁶ “Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.”’

⁵ I will be like the dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, and send down his roots like Lebanon. ⁶ His branches will spread, and his beauty will be like the olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon.

¹⁵ Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

⁷ I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your offspring after you.

¹⁷ You have declared today that Yahweh is your God, and that you would walk in his ways, keep his statutes, his commandments, and his ordinances, and listen to his voice. ¹⁸ Yahweh has declared today that you are a people for his own possession, as he has promised you, and that you should keep all his commandments. ¹⁹ He will make you high above all nations that he has made, in praise, in name, and in honor; and that you may be a holy people to Yahweh your God, as he has spoken.

³⁰ How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had delivered them up? ³¹ For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves concede.

²⁷ The eternal God is your dwelling place. Underneath are the everlasting arms. He thrust out the enemy from before you, and said, ‘Destroy!’ ²⁸ Israel dwells in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine. Yes, his heavens drop down dew. ²⁹ You are happy, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by Yahweh, the shield of your help, the sword of your excellency? Your enemies will submit themselves to you. You will tread on their high places.”

⁶ You frustrate the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge.

² Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

⁴ Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.

¹⁴ For this God is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even to death.

⁵ My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. ⁶ He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken. ⁷ My salvation and my honor is with God. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. ⁸ Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.

⁶ The earth has yielded its increase. God, even our own God, will bless us. ⁷ God will bless us. All the ends of the earth shall fear him.

³ Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

⁹ Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

⁵ I cried to you, Yahweh. I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

¹⁰ Yahweh’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.

² Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust, and will not be afraid; for Yah, Yahweh, is my strength and song; and he has become my salvation.”

³ You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. ⁴ Trust in Yahweh forever; for in Yah, Yahweh, is an everlasting Rock.

¹ “At that time,” says Yahweh, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people.”

³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”

¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

³⁷ even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Yahweh. ³⁸ But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land.

⁴⁶ Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from Yahweh! The plague has begun.” ⁴⁷ Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the middle of the assembly. The plague had already begun among the people. He put on the incense, and made atonement for the people. ⁴⁸ He stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

¹⁵ So Yahweh sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the appointed time; and seventy thousand men died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba.

³⁷ “If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;

¹⁰ who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields; ¹¹ so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety. ¹² He frustrates the plans of the crafty, So that their hands can’t perform their enterprise. ¹³ He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong. ¹⁴ They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night. ¹⁵ But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty. ¹⁶ So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth. ¹⁷ “Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. ¹⁸ For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole. ¹⁹ He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you. ²⁰ In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword. ²¹ You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes. ²² You will laugh at destruction and famine, neither will you be afraid of the animals of the earth.

⁶ nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.

⁷ Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

⁹ Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

⁵ Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

²³ Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn’t know that it will cost his life.

¹² For man also doesn’t know his time. As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.

⁸ A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

⁵ Can a bird fall in a trap on the earth, where no snare is set for him? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when there is nothing to catch?

⁹ But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.

²⁶ and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.

¹ After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”

¹¹ As an eagle that stirs up her nest, that flutters over her young, he spread abroad his wings, he took them, he bore them on his feathers.

¹² May Yahweh repay your work, and a full reward be given to you from Yahweh, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

² Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.

⁴ I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah.

²³ I will beat down his adversaries before him, and strike those who hate him. ²⁴ But my faithfulness and my loving kindness will be with him. In my name, his horn will be exalted.

² I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your Name for your loving kindness and for your truth; for you have exalted your Name and your Word above all.

¹ But now Yahweh who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel, says: “Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. ² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.

³⁷ “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!

³¹ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

² in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;

¹⁷ In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath, ¹⁸ that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us.

⁶ For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear the sound of chariots, and the sound of horses, even the noise of a great army; and they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us.”

¹³ In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, ¹⁴ fear came on me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake. ¹⁵ Then a spirit passed before my face. The hair of my flesh stood up.

¹⁹ He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you. ²⁰ In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword. ²¹ You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes. ²² You will laugh at destruction and famine, neither will you be afraid of the animals of the earth. ²³ For you will be allied with the stones of the field. ⁴ For the arrows of the Almighty are within me. My spirit drinks up their poison. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

¹⁴ The murderer rises with the light. He kills the poor and needy. In the night he is like a thief. ¹⁵ The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, ‘No eye will see me.’ He disguises his face. ¹⁶ In the dark they dig through houses. They shut themselves up in the daytime. They don’t know the light.

⁵ I laid myself down and slept. I awakened; for Yahweh sustains me. ⁶ I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.

¹ By David. Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. ³ Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.

² Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;

⁷ He will not be afraid of evil news. His heart is steadfast, trusting in Yahweh.

²³ Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble. ²⁴ When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet. ²⁵ Don’t be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes;

¹ The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

⁸ They all handle the sword, and are expert in war. Every man has his sword on his thigh, because of fear in the night.

⁴ My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling for me.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.

¹² He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow. ¹³ He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.

²⁶ He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

²⁰ “But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’

³⁹ But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not allowed his house to be broken into.

⁶ So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

²⁹ At midnight, Yahweh struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock. ³⁰ Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

⁴⁸ He stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

³⁵ That night, Yahweh’s angel went out, and struck one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

⁵ Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. ⁶ The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

⁶ You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.

³ and all ate the same spiritual food; ⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ. ⁵ However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. ⁶ Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. ⁷ Don’t be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” ⁸ Let’s not commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell. ⁹ Let’s not test Christ, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents. ¹⁰ Don’t grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.

²³ Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including man, livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship.

¹² For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am Yahweh. ¹³ The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

¹⁰ “Now, behold, Yahweh has kept me alive, as he spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that Yahweh spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. Now, behold, I am eighty-five years old, today.

⁶ For this, let everyone who is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found. Surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach to him.

³⁴ Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance. He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked, ¹¹ so that men shall say, “Most certainly there is a reward for the righteous. Most certainly there is a God who judges the earth.”

¹¹ My eye has also seen my enemies. My ears have heard of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.

²⁵ Don’t be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes; ²⁶ for Yahweh will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.

¹¹ Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them; for the deeds of his hands will be paid back to him.

⁵ Your eyes will see, and you will say, “Yahweh is great—even beyond the border of Israel!”

² For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”

⁴ Look on my right, and see; for there is no one who is concerned for me. Refuge has fled from me. No one cares for my soul. ⁵ I cried to you, Yahweh. I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

⁵ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God: ⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;

¹⁵ Yahweh will take away from you all sickness; and he will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, on you, but will lay them on all those who hate you.

²⁴ You will know that your tent is in peace. You will visit your fold, and will miss nothing.

⁷ Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.

²¹ No mischief shall happen to the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.

²⁵ But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

¹⁶ He answered, “Don’t be afraid; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” ¹⁷ Elisha prayed, and said, “Yahweh, please open his eyes, that he may see.” Yahweh opened the young man’s eyes; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.

⁷ Yahweh’s angel encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

¹ Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don’t look to the Holy One of Israel, and they don’t seek Yahweh!

¹⁸ Now what do you gain by going to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shihor? Or why do you to go on the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?

⁶ and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’”

¹⁰ for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;’ ¹¹ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’”

¹⁴ Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

²³ For you will be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field will be at peace with you.

²⁴ Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand.

²³ Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble.

³ “Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been carried from their birth, that have been carried from the womb.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

⁵ Then Samson went down to Timnah with his father and his mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah; and behold, a young lion roared at him. ⁶ Yahweh’s Spirit came mightily on him, and he tore him as he would have torn a young goat with his bare hands, but he didn’t tell his father or his mother what he had done.

³⁷ David said, “Yahweh who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go! Yahweh will be with you.”

⁴ Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like a deaf cobra that stops its ear,

¹ In that day, Yahweh with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan, the fleeing serpent, and leviathan the twisted serpent; and he will kill the dragon that is in the sea.

²² My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”

¹⁸ they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

¹⁹ Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you.

³ But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. ⁴ When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped from the sea, yet Justice has not allowed to live.” ⁵ However he shook off the creature into the fire, and wasn’t harmed. ⁶ But they expected that he would have swollen or fallen down dead suddenly, but when they watched for a long time and saw nothing bad happen to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

¹³ “Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.” “The poison of vipers is under their lips.”

²⁰ And the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear. So I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁹ The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

¹ I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. ² He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years,

³ In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

⁹ But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?

⁹ Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹² Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

³⁰ “Therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father should walk before me forever.’ But now Yahweh says, ‘Far be it from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me will be cursed.

⁴ I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

¹⁷ Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,

³ I call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised; and I am saved from my enemies. ⁴ The cords of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

¹⁵ Then the channels of waters appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare at your rebuke, Yahweh, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.

⁴ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

⁴⁰ Yahweh helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.

¹⁵ Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

⁷ Though I walk in the middle of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me.

¹⁰ Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

⁹ Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer. You will cry for help, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away from among you the yoke, finger pointing, and speaking wickedly;

²⁴ It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

¹² You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. ¹³ You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.

³ ‘Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.’

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

⁴⁴ How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?

²⁶ If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

⁴³ for they loved men’s praise more than God’s praise.

³² Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

⁹ The Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Don’t be afraid, but speak and don’t be silent; ¹⁰ for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”

¹² For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. ¹³ For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

⁹ Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead, ¹⁰ who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

⁷ He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,

²¹ who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

²² who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

⁴ When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.

²¹ He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

⁸ Abraham gave up his spirit, and died at a good old age, an old man, and full of years, and was gathered to his people.

² that you might fear Yahweh your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you—you, your son, and your son’s son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

²⁶ You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.

¹¹ You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

⁴ He asked life of you and you gave it to him, even length of days forever and ever.

²³ Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God’s salvation to him.”

² for they will add to you length of days, years of life, and peace.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor.

⁴ The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh is wealth, honor, and life.

¹⁷ Israel will be saved by Yahweh with an everlasting salvation. You will not be disappointed nor confounded to ages everlasting.

²⁰ “No more will there be an infant who only lives a few days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die one hundred years old, and the sinner being one hundred years old will be accursed. ²¹ They will build houses and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. ²² They will not build and another inhabit. They will not plant and another eat: for the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and my chosen will long enjoy the work of their hands.

³⁰ for my eyes have seen your salvation,

⁶ All flesh will see God’s salvation.’”
