³ So He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. Sitting down He began to teach the crowds from the boat.

¹⁸ And walking by the Sea of Galilee He saw two brothers, Simon (the one called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen).

¹ On the same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea. ² And large crowds were gathered together to Him, so He got into a boat to sit down; and the whole crowd stood on the shore.

¹ Once again He began to teach beside the sea. And a large crowd was gathered to Him, so that He got into the boat and sat down, out on the water, while the whole crowd was on the land, at the water’s edge. ² Then He began teaching them many things by parables and said to them in His teaching:

⁴¹ He first finds his own brother Simon and says to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated ‘Christ’). ⁴² And he led him to Jesus. Looking at him Jesus said, “You are Simon, the son of Jonah; you will be called Cephas” (which is translated ‘Stone’).

² And at dawn He went again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; so sitting down He started to teach them.
