¹ Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons; ² Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron; ³ Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if received with thanksgiving: ⁵ For it is sanctified by the word of God, and prayer. ⁶ If thou shalt put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou wilt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good doctrine, to which thou hast attained. ⁷ But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather to godliness. ⁸ For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. ⁹ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation. ¹⁰ For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe. ¹¹ These things command and teach. ¹² Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in deportment, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. ¹³ Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. ¹⁴ Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. ¹⁵ Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. ¹⁶ Take heed to thyself and to thy doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou wilt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. ⁴ And the serpent said to the woman, Ye shall not surely die: ⁵ For God doth know, that in the day ye eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened: and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. ²³ Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

⁵ Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

³ Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; ⁴ Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. ⁵ Remember ye not, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things? ⁶ And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. ⁷ For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now restraineth will restrain, until he be taken out of the way. ⁸ And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth, and will destroy with the brightness of his coming: ⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan, with all power, and signs, and lying wonders, ¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² That they all may be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ This know also, that in the last days perilous times will come. ² For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ Without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, ⁴ Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; ⁵ Having a form of godliness, but denying its power: from such turn away. ⁶ For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts; ⁷ Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. ⁸ Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. ⁹ But they shall proceed no further: for their folly will be manifest to all men, as theirs also was.

¹³ But evil men and seducers will become worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

⁴ And they will turn away their ears from the truth, and will be turned to fables.

²⁰ Who verily was fore-ordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifested in these last times for you,

¹ But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will privately bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

³ Knowing this first, that there will come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist cometh, even now are there many antichrists; by which we know that it is the last time.

⁶ We are of God. He that knoweth God, heareth us; he that is not of God, heareth not us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

⁴ For certain men have crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ That they told you there would be mockers in the last time, who would walk after their own ungodly lusts.

²³ And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. ²⁴ And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. ²⁵ And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

⁸ But food commendeth us not to God: for neither if we eat, are we the better; neither if we eat not, are we the worse.

³⁰ For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? ³¹ Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

¹⁶ Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of a holy-day, or or the new-moon, or of the sabbaths:

²⁰ Wherefore, if ye are dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, ²¹ (Touch not; taste not; handle not; ²² Which all are to perish with the using;) according to the commandments and doctrines of men? ²³ Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ To which he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Moreover, it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.

¹⁷ For this cause have I sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who will bring you into remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

⁶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

⁴ But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

¹⁵ But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ: ¹⁶ From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body to the edifying of itself in love.

²¹ But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make known to you all things:

¹⁶ Nevertheless, to what we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

¹⁹ And not holding the head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

⁷ All my state shall Tychicus declare to you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord:

² And sent Timothy, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellow-laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

¹⁰ For lewd persons, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men-stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,

¹⁶ Take heed to thyself and to thy doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou wilt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

³ If any man teacheth otherwise, and consenteth not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the doctrine which is according to godliness,

⁶ For which cause I put thee in remembrance, that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the imposition of my hands.

¹⁴ Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they contend not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. ¹⁵ Study to show thyself approved to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

¹⁰ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience,

¹⁴ But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned them; ¹⁵ And that from a child thou hast known the sacred scriptures, which are able to make thee wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: ¹⁷ That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.

³ For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts will they multiply to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

¹ But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

⁷ In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing incorruptness, gravity, sincerity, ⁸ Sound speech that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say concerning you. ⁹ Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; ¹⁰ Not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

² As new-born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

¹² Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the present truth. ¹³ Indeed, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; ¹⁴ Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shown me. ¹⁵ Moreover, I will endeavor that ye may be able, after my decease, to have these things always in remembrance.

¹ This second epistle, beloved, I now write to you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: ² That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior:

⁹ Whoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

⁵ I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

¹⁶ And in this I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense towards God, and towards men.

⁴ Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith; so do.

¹⁰ But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

¹⁶ And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

¹¹ But thou, O man of God, flee from these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

²⁰ O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called;

¹⁶ But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase to more ungodliness.

²³ But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they gender contentions.

¹² And all indeed that will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

¹⁴ Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men that turn from the truth.

¹² Teaching us, that denying ungodliness, and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and piously, in this present world;

⁹ But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

¹⁴ But strong food belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

⁵ And besides this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; ⁷ And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. ⁸ For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently to the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day; that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: ² And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God. ³ Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. ⁴ Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy cattle, and the flocks of thy sheep. ⁵ Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. ⁶ Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. ⁷ The LORD shall cause thy enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. ⁸ The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy store-houses, and in all that thou settest thy hand to: and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. ⁹ The LORD shall establish thee a holy people to himself, as he hath sworn to thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. ¹⁰ And all the people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee. ¹¹ And the LORD shall make thee to abound in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD swore to thy fathers to give thee. ¹² The LORD shall open to thee his good treasure, the heaven to give rain to thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand: and thou shalt lend to many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. ¹³ And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou shalt hearken to the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: ¹⁴ And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

²² And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

¹⁹ He will deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. ²⁰ In famine he will redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. ²¹ Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. ²² At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. ²³ For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. ²⁴ And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle will be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin. ²⁵ Thou shalt know also that thy seed will be great, and thy offspring as the grass of the earth. ²⁶ Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, as a shock of corn cometh in in its season.

² Can a man be profitable to God, as he that is wise may be profitable to himself?

³ Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. ⁴ Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.

⁹ For evil doers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

¹¹ But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

¹⁶ A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. ¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. ¹⁸ The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. ¹⁹ They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

²⁹ The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

⁷ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God. ⁸ I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt-offerings, to have been continually before me. ⁹ I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he-goats out of thy folds. ¹⁰ For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. ¹¹ I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof. ¹³ Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? ¹⁴ Offer to God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows to the Most High: ¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

¹¹ (84:10)For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a door-keeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

¹⁰ There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. ¹¹ For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. ¹² They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. ¹³ Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. ¹⁴ Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. ¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. ¹⁶ With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

¹ Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. ² His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

¹ A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. ² For thou shalt eat the labor of thy hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. ³ Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thy house: thy children like olive plants around thy table. ⁴ Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. ⁵ The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. ⁶ Yes, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

¹⁹ He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor. ¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

²³ The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

⁴ By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.

¹² Though a sinner doeth evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet surely I know that it will be well with them that fear God, who fear before him:

¹¹ To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt-offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he-goats. ¹² When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? ¹³ Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination to me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot endure; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble to me; I am weary to bear them. ¹⁵ And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yes, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. ¹⁶ Wash ye, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil;

¹⁰ Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

¹⁷ And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance for ever. ¹⁸ And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting-places;

¹⁶ He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

³ Why have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? why have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labors. ⁴ Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. ⁵ Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

¹³ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: ¹⁴ Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

²⁰ To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a distant country? your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet to me.

²¹ I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. ²² Though ye offer me burnt-offerings and your meat-offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your fat beasts. ²³ Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. ²⁴ But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. ⁵ Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. ⁶ Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they shall be filled. ⁷ Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. ⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. ⁹ Blessed are the peace-makers: for they shall be called children of God. ¹⁰ Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ¹¹ Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. ¹² Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

²⁹ And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive a hundred-fold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

¹⁹ Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother. ²⁰ And he answered and said to him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

³⁰ But he shall receive a hundred-fold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come, eternal life.

³¹ But rather seek ye the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. ³² Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain.

⁸ This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they who have believed in God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

⁹ Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; ¹⁰ Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

³ According as his divine power hath given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: ⁴ Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

²⁵ And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

¹² Him that overcometh, will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

²¹ To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father on his throne.

¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

⁶ (36:5)Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth to the clouds.

⁴⁰ And the LORD will help them, and deliver them: he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

⁸ (52:6)The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

¹² (84:11)For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

² Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

⁶ Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. ⁷ And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. ⁸ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ⁹ For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. ¹⁰ Such as sit in darkness and in the shades of death, being bound in affliction and iron; ¹¹ Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High: ¹² Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; they fell down, and there was none to help. ¹³ Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shades of death, and broke their bands asunder. ¹⁵ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ¹⁶ For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron asunder. ¹⁷ Fools, because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. ¹⁸ Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; and they draw near to the gates of death. ¹⁹ Then they cry to the LORD in their trouble, he saveth them out of their distresses. ²⁰ He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. ²¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ²² And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. ²³ They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business on great waters; ²⁴ These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. ²⁵ For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up its waves. ²⁶ They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. ²⁷ They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. ²⁸ Then they cry to the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. ²⁹ He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves of the sea are still. ³⁰ Then are they glad because they are quiet; so he bringeth them to their desired haven. ³¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ³² Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. ³³ He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the water-springs into dry ground; ³⁴ A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell in it. ³⁵ He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into water-springs. ³⁶ And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; ³⁷ And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. ³⁸ He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. ³⁹ Again, they are diminished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. ⁴⁰ He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. ⁴¹ Yet he setteth the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. ⁴² The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. ⁴³ Whoever is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the loving-kindness of the LORD.

⁸ It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

²¹ Tell ye, and bring them near; yes, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else besides me; a just God and a Savior; there is none besides me. ²² Look to me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

¹⁰ Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and rely upon his God.

⁷ Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

²⁸ Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

⁷ The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

⁴³ He trusted in God; let him deliver him now if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming to him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world.

¹⁵ That whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. ¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him may be saved.

⁴² And said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.

²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath passed from death to life.

¹² And again Isaiah saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

⁹ For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honorable, but we are despised. ¹¹ Even to this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place; ¹² And labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it; ¹³ Being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things to this day.

⁸ We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; ¹⁰ Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our body.

³ Giving no offense in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: ⁴ But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, ⁵ In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watchings, in fastings; ⁶ By pureness, by knowledge, by long-suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by love unfeigned, ⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, ⁸ By honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; ⁹ As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; ¹⁰ As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths often. ²⁴ From the Jews five times I received forty stripes save one. ²⁵ Thrice was I beaten with rods, once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; ²⁶ In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by my own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

⁶ Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

¹⁵ But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

⁹ In which I suffer trouble, as an evil-doer, even to bonds; but the word of God is not bound. ¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹⁰ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience, ¹¹ Persecutions, afflictions which came to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. ¹² And all indeed that will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

²⁶ Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he had respect to the recompense of the reward.

¹³ Let us go forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

²¹ Who by him do believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

¹⁴ If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. ¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evil-doer, or as a busy-body in other men's matters.

² And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

¹⁴ And we have seen and do testify, that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

¹⁰ He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God, hath made him a liar, because he hath not believed the testimony that God gave of his Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God hath given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life. ¹³ These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

⁷ And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

² And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

² Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.

¹⁵ These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

¹⁰ Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.

¹ Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

¹⁰ Now if Timothy come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. ¹¹ Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come to me: for I look for him with the brethren.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.

⁶ And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit:

¹⁰ Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily, and justly, and unblamably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

⁷ For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; ⁸ Neither did we eat any man's bread for naught; but wrought with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: ⁹ Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves a pattern to you to follow us.

¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

⁷ Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

¹⁵ Study to show thyself approved to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

²² Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

⁷ In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing incorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

¹³ Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show by a good deportment his works with meekness of wisdom.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

³ Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

¹⁹ And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

² But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. ³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he doeth shall prosper.

⁹⁷ MEM. O how I love thy law! it is my meditation all the day. ⁹⁸ Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than my enemies: for they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. ¹⁰¹ I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. ¹⁰² I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. ¹⁰³ How sweet are thy words to my taste! yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! ¹⁰⁴ Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

⁴ If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; ⁵ Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

⁵¹ Jesus saith to them, Have ye understood all these things? They say to him, Yes, Lord. ⁵² Then said he to them, Therefore every scribe who is instructed to the kingdom of heaven, is like a man that is a householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

³⁹ Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

⁴ But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

¹¹ These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

⁸ Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.

³ But he that prophesieth, speaketh to men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

⁶ Now, brethren, if I come to you speaking in languages, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

²⁶ How is it then, brethren? when ye are assembled, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a language, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done to edification.

¹⁴ These things I write to thee, hoping to come to thee shortly: ¹⁵ But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

⁶ If thou shalt put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou wilt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good doctrine, to which thou hast attained.

¹⁴ For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered to them his goods. ¹⁵ And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and forthwith took his journey. ¹⁶ Then he that had received the five talents, went and traded with the same, and gained other five talents. ¹⁷ And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. ¹⁸ But he that had received one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. ¹⁹ After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. ²⁰ And he that had received five talents, came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst to me five talents: behold, I have gained besides them five talents more. ²¹ His lord said to him, Well done thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. ²² He also that had received two talents came, and said, Lord, thou deliveredst to me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents besides them. ²³ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. ²⁴ Then he who had received the one talent came, and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strewed: ²⁵ And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast what is thine. ²⁶ His lord answered and said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not strewed: ²⁷ Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received my own with interest. ²⁸ Take therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who hath ten talents. ²⁹ For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. ³⁰ And cast ye the unprofitable servant into utter darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹² He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. ¹³ And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said to them, Occupy till I come. ¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. ¹⁵ And it came to pass, that when he had returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. ¹⁶ Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. ¹⁷ And he said to him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. ¹⁹ And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. ²⁰ And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: ²¹ For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up what thou layedst not down, and reapest what thou didst not sow. ²² And he saith to him, Out of thy own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest me to be an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow: ²³ Why then gavest thou not my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required my own with interest? ²⁴ And he said to them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. ²⁵ (And they said to him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) ²⁶ For I say to you, That to every one who hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even what he hath shall be taken away from him.

⁶ Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

¹⁷ Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

³ And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

⁶ And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke in languages, and prophesied.

⁶ Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; ⁷ Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching: ⁸ Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹⁹ Quench not the spirit.

¹⁸ This charge I commit to thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mayest war a good warfare;

²² Impose hands hastily on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

⁹ Use hospitality one to another without grudging. ¹⁰ As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. ¹¹ If any man speaketh let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministereth let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

² But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

¹⁴ (19:13)Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

⁶ (63:5)My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

¹² (77:11)I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

³⁴ My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

⁵ Remember his wonderful works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

¹⁵ I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect to thy ways.

²³ Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.

⁴⁸ My hands also will I lift to thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.

⁹⁷ MEM. O how I love thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

¹⁴⁸ My eyes anticipated the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.

⁵ I remember the days of old, I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

¹⁵ I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

¹⁴ Knowing, that he who raised the Lord Jesus, will raise us also by Jesus, and will present us with you.

⁵ And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us by the will of God:

¹⁵ That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; ¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹⁰ Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

⁶ And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.

¹¹ So shall my word be that proceedeth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

²² But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

¹⁹ Yet if thou shalt warn the wicked, and he shall not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. ²⁰ Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thy hand. ²¹ Nevertheless if thou shalt warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

⁷ So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. ⁸ When I say to the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand. ⁹ Nevertheless, if thou shalt warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he shall not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

⁹ But take heed to yourselves: for they will deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye will be beaten: and ye will be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

²⁶ Wherefore I call you to witness this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God. ²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

²² Having therefore obtained help from God, I continue to this day, testifying both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

⁷ To them who by patient continuance in well-doing, seek for glory, and honor, and immortality; eternal life:

¹⁰ For with the heart man believeth to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. ¹¹ For the scripture saith, whoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. ¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all, is rich to all that call upon him, ¹³ For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ¹⁴ How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

¹⁴ If by any means I may incite to emulation them who are my flesh, and may save some of them.

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth upon it. But let every man take heed how he buildeth upon it. ¹¹ For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

²⁷ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be a cast-away.

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.

¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? ²⁰ For ye are our glory and joy.

³ As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹⁴ But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned them;

⁹ Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

¹⁹ I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will repay it: although I do not say to thee that thou owest to me even thy own self besides.

¹⁵ Looking diligently, lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up, trouble you, and by it many be defiled;

²⁰ Let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will hide a multitude of sins.

⁸ Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. ⁹ Whoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
