³ I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.

¹⁶ And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: ¹⁷ Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if aught but death shall part thee and me.

¹⁴ I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. ¹⁵ For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

⁴ For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly to you. ⁵ But if any hath caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.

² Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men:

¹¹ O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open to you, our heart is enlarged. ¹² Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.

¹² Wherefore, though I wrote to you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear to you.

¹¹ Why? because I love you not? God knoweth.

¹⁵ And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

¹⁰ Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.

⁸ For God is my witness, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. ⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

⁸ So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted to you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear to us.
