³ For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

¹¹ Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. ⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,

⁶ Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; ⁷ And not by his coming only, but by the consolation with which he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind towards me; so that I rejoiced the more.

¹⁵ Wherefore I also, having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love to all the saints, ¹⁶ Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

⁴ Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

⁷ As ye also learned from Epaphras our dear fellow-servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; ⁸ Who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

⁶ But now when Timothy came from you to us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: ⁷ Therefore, brethren, by your faith we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress: ⁸ For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God;

² For the truth's sake which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.

⁴ I rejoiced greatly, that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
