¹⁸ And to Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, he gave two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

⁶ And he made the mercy-seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half was the length of it, and one cubit and a half the breadth of it. ⁷ And he made two cherubim of gold, beaten out of one piece he made them, on the two ends of the mercy-seat; ⁸ One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the other end on that side: out of the mercy-seat made he the cherubim on the two ends of it. ⁹ And the cherubim spread out their wings on high, and covered with their wings over the mercy-seat, with their faces one to another; even towards the mercy-seat were the faces of the cherubim.

³ And thou shalt put in it the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail.

⁵ And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are, as the LORD commanded me.

⁹ There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses deposited there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

⁴ For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

¹⁶ Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

⁴ Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid around with gold, in which was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

¹⁹ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the vail, that is to say, his flesh; ²¹ And having a high priest over the house of God;

² And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
