¹ And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and its hight shall be three cubits. ² And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: its horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass. ³ And thou shalt make its pans to receive its ashes, and its shovels, and its basins, and its flesh-hooks, and its fire-pans: all its vessels thou shalt make of brass. ⁴ And thou shalt make for it a grate of net-work of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brazen rings in its four corners. ⁵ And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar. ⁶ And thou shalt make staffs for the altar, staffs of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass. ⁷ And the staffs shall be put into the rings, and the staffs shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it. ⁸ Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shown thee on the mount, so shall they make it.

³⁸ Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year, day by day continually. ³⁹ The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at evening. ⁴⁰ And with the one lamb a tenth-portion of flour mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink-offering. ⁴¹ And the other lamb thou shalt offer at evening, and shalt do thereto according to the meat-offering of the morning, and according to the drink-offering thereof, for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD. ⁴² This shall be a continual burnt-offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you to speak there to thee. ⁴³ And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. ⁴⁴ And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office. ⁴⁵ And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. ⁴⁶ And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.
