¹ Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

² Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah that bore you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

²² I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number, and your high-ways shall be desolate.

²² At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. ²³ For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

whether it is any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, in which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; so it shall be cleansed. ³³ And every earthen vessel, into which any of them falleth, whatever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it. ³⁴ Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drank in every such vessel, shall be unclean. ³⁵ And every thing on which any part of their carcass falleth, shall be unclean; whether an oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you. ³⁶ Nevertheless, a fountain or pit, in which there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcass shall be unclean. ³⁷ And if any part of their carcass shall fall upon any sowing-seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean. ³⁸ But if any water shall be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcass shall fall on it, it shall be unclean to you. ³⁹ And if any beast, of which ye may eat, shall die; he that toucheth its carcass shall be unclean until the evening. ⁴⁰ And he that eateth of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening; he also that beareth its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. ⁴¹ And every creeping animal that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten. ⁴² Whatever goeth upon the belly, and whatever goeth upon all four, or whatever hath more feet among all creeping animals that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination. ⁴³ Ye shall not make your selves abominable with any creeping animal that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled by them. ⁴⁴ For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; ⁴⁷ To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

⁸ That which dieth of itself, or is torn by beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself with it: I am the LORD.

¹⁵ Notwithstanding, thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatever thy soul desireth, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat of it as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.

¹⁴ He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; ¹⁵ And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me. ³¹ And the king said to him, Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the innocent blood which Joab shed, from me, and from the house of my father. ³² And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing of it, to wit, Abner the son of Ner captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah. ³³ Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace forever from the LORD. ³⁴ So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

⁴ (51:2)Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

⁵² Then said Jesus to him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword, shall perish by the sword.

⁴ For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou doest that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

⁹ With this we bless God, even the Father; and with this we curse men, who are made after the similitude of God.

¹⁰ He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

¹⁸ But with thee will I establish my covenant: and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

¹¹ And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

¹⁷ And God said to Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and thy seed after thee, in their generations, for an everlasting covenant; to be a God to thee and to thy seed after thee. ⁸ And I will give to thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land in which thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

¹⁷ That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is on the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah to me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more overflow the earth; so have I sworn that I will not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

³⁵ Thus saith the LORD, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divideth the sea when its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: ³⁶ If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

²⁰ Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, so that there should not be day and night in their season;

³ Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh.

¹ And God remembered Noah, and every living animal, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters were checked.

¹⁵ And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. ¹⁶ And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

¹ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, ² Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? ³ Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. ⁴ Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. ⁵ Who hath laid the measures of it, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? ⁶ Upon what are the foundations of it fastened? or who laid its corner stone; ⁷ When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? ⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? ⁹ When I made a cloud its garment, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it, ¹⁰ And broke up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, ¹¹ And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed. ¹² Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the day-spring to know its place; ¹³ That it might take hold of the ends of earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? ¹⁴ It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment. ¹⁵ And from the wicked their light is withheld, and the high arm shall be broken. ¹⁶ Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth? ¹⁷ Have the gates of death been opened to thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shades of death? ¹⁸ Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all. ¹⁹ Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is its place, ²⁰ That thou shouldest take it to its bound, and that thou shouldest know the paths to its house? ²¹ Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great? ²² Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, ²³ Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? ²⁴ By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? ²⁵ Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; ²⁶ To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness in which there is no man; ²⁷ To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth? ²⁸ Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of the dew? ²⁹ Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? ³⁰ The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. ³¹ Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? ³² Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in its season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with its sons? ³³ Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set its dominion on the earth? ³⁴ Canst thou lift thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee? ³⁵ Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say to thee, Here we are? ³⁶ Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart? ³⁷ Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven, ³⁸ When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

¹ (41:10)None is so fierce that he dare rouse him: who then is able to stand before me? ² (41:11)Who hath first benefited me, that I should repay him? whatever is under the whole heaven is mine. ³ (41:12)I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. ⁴ (41:13)Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? ⁵ (41:14)Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible around. ⁶ (41:15)His scales are his pride, shut together as with a close seal. ⁷ (41:16)One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. ⁸ (41:17)They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. ⁹ (41:18)His sneezings flash light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. ¹⁰ (41:19)Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire dart forth. ¹¹ (41:20)Out of his nostrils issueth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. ¹² (41:21)His breath kindleth coals, and a flame issueth from his mouth. ¹³ (41:22)In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. ¹⁴ (41:23)The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. ¹⁵ (41:24)His heart is as firm as a stone; yes, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. ¹⁶ (41:25)When he raiseth himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. ¹⁷ (41:26)The sword of him that attacketh him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. ¹⁸ (41:27)He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. ¹⁹ (41:28)The arrow cannot make him flee: sling-stones are turned with him into stubble. ²⁰ (41:29)Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. ²¹ (41:30)Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. ²² (41:31)He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. ²³ (41:32)He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. ²⁴ (41:33)Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. ²⁵ (41:34)He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

⁵ (36:4)He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil. ⁶ (36:5)Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth to the clouds.

⁹ The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

¹¹ And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than a hundred and twenty thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand, and also many cattle?

²¹ And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping animal that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: ²² All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was on the dry land, died. ²³ And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping animals, and the fowl of heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth; and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

²¹ And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth: neither will I again smite any more every living animal as I have done. ²² While the earth remaineth, seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah to me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more overflow the earth; so have I sworn that I will not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

⁷ But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved to fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

¹¹ Seeing then that all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy deportment and godliness,

¹¹ And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

¹³ And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

¹⁶ And it shall be for a token upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thy eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.

²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. ²⁷ And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; ²⁸ For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sin.

²³ For I have received from the Lord, that which also I delivered to you, That the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread: ²⁴ And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. ²⁵ After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

²⁸ As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one speaking.

³ And he that sat was in appearance like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow around the throne in sight like an emerald.

¹ And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

¹² And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial to the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

⁴² Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. ⁴³ The land also shall be left by them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes. ⁴⁴ And yet for all that, when they shall be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God. ⁴⁵ But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.

⁹ Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations:

²³ And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart.

³² Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria to this day.

⁴⁵ And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

⁸ In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

²¹ Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake; do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.

⁶⁰ Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish to thee an everlasting covenant.

⁷² To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant:

⁹ And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; ¹⁰ And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you, from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. ¹¹ And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and thy seed after thee, in their generations, for an everlasting covenant; to be a God to thee and to thy seed after thee.

¹³ He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

¹⁹ And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

⁵ Although my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he maketh it not to grow.

³ (89:2)For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens. ⁴ (89:3)I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn to David my servant,

³ Incline your ear, and come to me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

⁴⁰ And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

²³ And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father: and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

²⁵ And he said, Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants shall he be to his brethren. ²⁶ And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. ²⁷ God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

¹ Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah; Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and to them were sons born after the flood.

⁶ And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

⁴ Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

³² And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

² The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. ³ And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. ⁴ And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. ⁵ By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations. ⁶ And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. ⁷ And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha; and the sons of Raamah, Sheba, and Dedan. ⁸ And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. ⁹ He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. ¹⁰ And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. ¹¹ Out of that land went forth Ashur, and built Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah, ¹² And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city. ¹³ And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim. ¹⁴ And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim. ¹⁵ And Canaan begat Sidon his first-born, and Heth, ¹⁶ And the Jebusite, and the Emorite, and the Girgasite, ¹⁷ And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, ¹⁸ And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites dispersed. ¹⁹ And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, to Gaza; as thou goest to Sodom and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even to Lashah. ²⁰ These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations. ²¹ To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born. ²² The children of Shem; Elam, and Ashur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram. ²³ And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash. ²⁴ And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber. ²⁵ And to Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan. ²⁶ And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, ²⁷ And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah. ²⁸ And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, ²⁹ And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan. ³⁰ And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest to Sephar, a mount of the east. ³¹ These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations. ³² These are the families of the sons of Noah after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

All these were the sons of Joktan. ²⁴ Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah, ²⁵ Eber, Peleg, Reu, ²⁶ Serug, Nahor, Terah, ²⁷ Abram; the same is Abraham. ²⁸ The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.

¹⁸ Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; ¹⁹ In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou shalt return to the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and to dust shalt thou return.

²³ Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.

² And she again bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

⁶ And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return to his house, lest he should die in the battle, and another man should eat of it.

³⁰ Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwell in it: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes of it.

¹¹ The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

¹¹ He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

³⁰ I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

⁹ (5:10)He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

⁶ Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but my own vineyard have I not kept.

²⁴ Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground? ²⁵ When he hath made even the face of it, doth he not cast abroad the vetches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat, and the appointed barley, and the rye in their place? ²⁶ For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.

⁷ Who goeth a warfare at any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of its fruit? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

⁹ These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man, and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

³² Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. ³³ And they made their father drink wine that night: and the first-born went in and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. ³⁴ And it came to pass on the morrow that the first born said to the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father; let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. ³⁵ And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. ³⁶ Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

¹ Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whoever is deceived by it is not wise.

³¹ Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth its color in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. ³² At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.

²⁰ For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

¹⁵ Woe to him that giveth his neighbor drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness! ¹⁶ Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD'S right hand shall be turned to thee, and shameful vomiting shall be on thy glory.

³ Then Satan entered into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. ⁴ And he went, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him to them.

¹³ Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

¹² Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.

²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

² That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience;

¹⁸ I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness may not appear; and anoint thy eyes with eye-salve, that thou mayest see.

²⁵ And he said, Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants shall he be to his brethren.

¹⁵ And Canaan begat Sidon his first-born, and Heth, ¹⁶ And the Jebusite, and the Emorite, and the Girgasite, ¹⁷ And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, ¹⁸ And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites dispersed. ¹⁹ And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, to Gaza; as thou goest to Sodom and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even to Lashah.

¹⁹ The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen! ²⁰ Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

⁸ The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

¹³ And Canaan begat Zidon his first-born, and Heth, ¹⁴ The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite, ¹⁵ And the Hivite, and the Archite, and the Sinite, ¹⁶ And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

²⁰ For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. ²¹ Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

¹⁵ (40:14)Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

³ (70:2)Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.

⁹ Debate thy cause with thy neighbor himself; and reveal not a secret to another:

¹⁷ The eye that mocketh at its father, and despiseth to obey its mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

¹² But thou shouldst not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldst thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldst thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress. ¹³ Thou shouldst not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yes, thou shouldst not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;

¹⁵ Moreover, if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

⁶ Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

¹ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual, restore such one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

¹² Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

³² Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.

⁷ Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

¹ Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

¹⁷ Let the elders that rule well, be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.

¹⁹ Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

¹⁷ Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

⁸ And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity will cover a multitude of sins.

¹⁴ And the LORD God said to the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field: upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

¹¹ And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

²² And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

⁷ Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce: and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

¹⁶ Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother: and all the people shall say, Amen.

¹⁸ Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

²⁸ And it came to pass when Israel was strong, that they subjected the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly expel them. ²⁹ Neither did Ephraim expel the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them. ³⁰ Neither did Zebulun expel the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.

²⁰ And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel, ²¹ Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bond-service to this day.

⁷ As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel, ⁸ But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.

⁴¹ Then will he say also to them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

³⁴ Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Whoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin.

¹ Now the LORD had said to Abram, Depart from thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, to a land that I will show thee: ² And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: ³ And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

³⁷ And Isaac answered and said to Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now to thee, my son?

⁴⁰ And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother: and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.

²⁶ There is none like to the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellence on the sky.

¹⁵ Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yes, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

⁵ Whose are the fathers, and from whom according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city.

¹⁰ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably to her.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to the setting of the same, my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered to my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

¹⁴ And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul, to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timothy abode there still.

¹² Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?

¹² And again Isaiah saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

¹³ But now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who formerly were far off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

¹⁹ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

⁶ That the Gentiles should be joint-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the Gospel:

¹³ Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

⁹ By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a foreign country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: ¹⁰ For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

⁵ And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

²⁰ And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years; and he died.

²⁷ And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died.

¹¹ And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. ¹² And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah. ¹³ And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. ¹⁴ And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber: ¹⁵ And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. ¹⁶ And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg: ¹⁷ And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters. ¹⁸ And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu: ¹⁹ And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters. ²⁰ And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug. ²¹ And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters. ²² And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor: ²³ And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. ²⁴ And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah. ²⁵ And Nahor lived after he begat Terah a hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

¹⁰ The days of our years are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
