³ Hearken; Behold, a sower went out to sow:

¹ Now therefore hearken, O Israel, to the statutes and to the judgments, which I teach you, to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

³ Hearken to me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the birth, which are carried from the womb:

¹² Hearken to me, ye stout-hearted, that are far from righteousness:

¹ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ² Why do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently to me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

³ And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

²⁴ Another parable he proposed to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field:

²⁶ But when the blade had sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

⁹ And he said to them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

¹⁴ And when he had called all the people to him, he said to them, Hearken to me every one of you, and understand. ¹⁵ There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him, can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

⁵ A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. ⁶ And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered, because it lacked moisture. ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. ⁸ And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bore fruit a hundred-fold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

³⁵ Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. ³⁶ And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit to life eternal: that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth, may rejoice together. ³⁷ And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. ³⁸ I sent you to reap that on which ye bestowed no labor: other men labored, and ye have entered into their labors.

¹⁴ But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words:

⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered: but God hath given the increase. ⁷ So then, neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth: but God that giveth the increase. ⁸ Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward, according to his own labor. ⁹ For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. ² For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; ³ How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that heard him;

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

⁷ He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
