Matthew 22:2 Cross References - Webster

2 The kingdom of heaven is like to a certain king, who made a marriage for his son,

Psalms 45:10-16

10 (45:9)Kings daughters were among thy honorable women: upon thy right hand stood the queen in gold of Ophir. 11 (45:10)Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thy ear; forget also thy own people, and thy father's house; 12 (45:11)So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy lord; and worship thou him. 13 (45:12)And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall entreat thy favor. 14 (45:13)The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. 15 (45:14)She shall be brought to the king in raiment of needle-work: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought to thee. 16 (45:15)With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

Matthew 13:24

24 Another parable he proposed to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field:

Matthew 13:31-33

31 Another parable he proposed to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard-seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: 32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge on its branches. 33 Another parable he spoke to them; The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Matthew 13:44-47

44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hid in a field; which, when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

Matthew 22:2-14

2 The kingdom of heaven is like to a certain king, who made a marriage for his son, 3 And sent his servants to call them that were invited to the wedding: and they would not come. 4 Again, he sent other servants, saying, Tell them who are invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage. 5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his farm, another to his merchandise. 6 And the remnant took his servants, and treated them spitefully, and slew them. 7 But when the king heard of it, he was wroth: and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he saith to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they who were invited were not worthy. 9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, invite to the marriage. 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and collected all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who had not a wedding-garment: 12 And he saith to him, Friend, how camest thou in hither, not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into utter darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 25:1-14

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil: for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say to you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man cometh. 14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered to them his goods.

Luke 14:16-24

16 Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many: 17 And sent his servant at supper-time, to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife: and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste my supper.

John 3:29-30

29 He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

2 Corinthians 11:2

2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Ephesians 5:24-32

24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives, as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife, loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Revelation 19:7-9

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith to me, Write, Blessed are they who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith to me, These are the true sayings of God.
