And they murmured against her. ⁶ And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. ⁷ For ye have the poor with you always, and whenever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. ⁸ She hath done what she could: she is come beforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

³⁶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, who by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did. ³⁷ And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom, when they had washed, they laid in an upper chamber. ³⁸ And as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent to him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. ³⁹ Then Peter arose, and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

²⁹ Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren who dwelt in Judea. ³⁰ Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

¹¹ Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. ¹² For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings to God; ¹³ While by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution to them, and to all men; ¹⁴ And by their prayer for you, who long after you, for the exceeding grace of God in you.

⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ¹⁰ As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.

¹⁶ Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.

¹⁰ Well reported of for good works; if she hath brought up children, if she hath lodged strangers, if she hath washed the saints' feet, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work.

¹⁶ The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: ¹⁷ But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. ¹⁸ The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered to me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shown towards his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. ¹¹ And we desire every one of you to show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope to the end:

¹⁰ As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
