²⁶ For by means of a lewd woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. ²⁷ Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? ²⁸ Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? ²⁹ So he that goeth in to his neighbor's wife; whoever toucheth her shall not be innocent. ³⁰ Men do not despise a thief, if he stealeth to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; ³¹ But if he is found, he shall restore seven-fold; he shall give all the substance of his house. ³² But whoever committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. ³³ A wound and dishonor shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. ³⁴ For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. ³⁵ He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.

²² He goeth after her quickly, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; ²³ Till a dart striketh through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. ²⁴ Now therefore hearken to me, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. ²⁵ Let not thy heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. ²⁶ For she hath cast down many wounded: yes, many strong men have been slain by her. ²⁷ Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

¹⁸ But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

⁹ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, ¹⁰ Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁵ For this ye know, that no lewd, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

⁸ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and lewd men, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
