⁴ (44:3)For they obtained not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thy arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favor to them.

²² For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.

⁸ For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Savior.

¹² Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger. ¹³ Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thy anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by uncovering the foundation to the neck. Selah. ¹⁴ Thou didst strike through with his staffs the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.

²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

²⁸ And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

¹¹ And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.

⁶ He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there we rejoiced in him.

¹³ He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as a heap.

⁸ Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. ⁹ He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

¹³ To him who divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever. ¹⁴ And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever: ¹⁵ But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever. ¹⁶ To him who led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever. ¹⁷ To him who smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: ¹⁸ And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever.

¹⁵ And the LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind will he shake his hand over the river, and will smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dry shod. ¹⁶ And there shall be a highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; as it was to Israel in the day that he came up from the land of Egypt.

⁹ Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not that which hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon? ¹⁰ Art thou not that which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

³ Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.

² Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou art as a whale in the seas: and thou didst come forth with thy rivers, and disturb the waters with thy feet, and render their rivers foul.

³⁵ And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses: and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment. ³⁶ And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent to them such things as they requested: and they spoiled the Egyptians.

³⁰ Thus the LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians: and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea-shore.

⁹ Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense has departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

⁸ Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.

¹ (41:10)None is so fierce that he dare rouse him: who then is able to stand before me? ² (41:11)Who hath first benefited me, that I should repay him? whatever is under the whole heaven is mine. ³ (41:12)I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. ⁴ (41:13)Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? ⁵ (41:14)Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible around. ⁶ (41:15)His scales are his pride, shut together as with a close seal. ⁷ (41:16)One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. ⁸ (41:17)They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. ⁹ (41:18)His sneezings flash light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. ¹⁰ (41:19)Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire dart forth. ¹¹ (41:20)Out of his nostrils issueth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. ¹² (41:21)His breath kindleth coals, and a flame issueth from his mouth. ¹³ (41:22)In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. ¹⁴ (41:23)The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. ¹⁵ (41:24)His heart is as firm as a stone; yes, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. ¹⁶ (41:25)When he raiseth himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. ¹⁷ (41:26)The sword of him that attacketh him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. ¹⁸ (41:27)He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. ¹⁹ (41:28)The arrow cannot make him flee: sling-stones are turned with him into stubble. ²⁰ (41:29)Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. ²¹ (41:30)Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. ²² (41:31)He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. ²³ (41:32)He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. ²⁴ (41:33)Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. ²⁵ (41:34)He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

⁹ They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

²⁵ So is this great and wide sea, in which are creeping animals innumerable, both small and great beasts. ²⁶ There go the ships: there is that leviathan, which thou hast made to play therein.

¹ In that day the LORD with his keen and great and strong sword will punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.

²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. ²² And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

⁵ And the LORD said to Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel: and thy rod, with which thou smotest the river, take in thy hand, and go. ⁶ Behold, I will stand before thee there on the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and water shall come out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

¹¹ And Moses lifted his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

⁸ And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

¹⁴ And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? And when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.

¹⁵ He cleaved the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

⁴¹ He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

¹⁶ And there shall be a highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; as it was to Israel in the day that he came up from the land of Egypt.

²⁷ That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

²¹ And they thirsted not, when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he cleaved the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

⁹ Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.

¹² And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water of it was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

³ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. ⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night: and the evening and the morning were the first day.

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven, to divide the day from the night: and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. ¹⁵ And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven, to give light upon the earth: and it was so. ¹⁶ And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. ¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of the heaven, to give light upon the earth. ¹⁸ And to rule over the day, and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

³ (8:2)Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thy enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

¹⁹ He appointeth the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

⁷ To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: ⁸ The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: ⁹ The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

⁴⁵ That ye may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

²² While the earth remaineth, seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

⁸ When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. ² For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

²⁶ And hath made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

⁶ Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

²⁷ Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

⁸ (39:7)And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

²² Arise, O God, plead thy own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

² Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. ³ LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? ⁴ How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? ⁵ They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thy heritage. ⁶ They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. ⁷ Yet they say, The LORD will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard it. ⁸ Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

²³ Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed; and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted thy eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel. ²⁴ By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots have I come up to the hight of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down its tall cedars, and its choice fir-trees: and I will enter into the hight of its border, and the forest of its Carmel.

⁶ I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, ⁷ And give him no rest, till he shall establish, and till he shall make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

¹⁴ But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.

¹⁹ And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

¹⁸ (9:17)The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

¹⁰ (68:9)Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, by which thou didst confirm thy inheritance, when it was weary.

² He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

⁹ My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bore her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yes, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her.

⁸ Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as doves to their windows?

¹² I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? ⁶ But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment-seats?

⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and thy seed after thee, in their generations, for an everlasting covenant; to be a God to thee and to thy seed after thee. ⁸ And I will give to thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land in which thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

⁵ Simeon and Levi are brethren: instruments of cruelty are in, their habitations. ⁶ O my soul, come not thou into their secret; to their assembly, my honor, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they digged down a wall. ⁷ Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce: and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

²⁷ Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not to the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:

³¹ Thou shalt not do so to the LORD thy God; for every abomination to the LORD which he hateth have they done to their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.

⁵ Although my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he maketh it not to grow.

⁸ (5:7)But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship towards thy holy temple.

²⁸ (89:27)Also I will make him my first-born, higher than the kings of the earth.

³⁴ (89:33)Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. ³⁵ (89:34)My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that hath gone out of my lips. ³⁶ (89:35)Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie to David.

⁸ He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

⁴⁵ And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

²⁰ Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, so that there should not be day and night in their season; ²¹ Then also may my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers. ²² As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister to me. ²³ Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

⁷² To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant: ⁷³ The oath which he swore to our father Abraham, ⁷⁴ That he would grant to us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, ⁷⁵ In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

²⁹ Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, ³⁰ Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventers of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

¹⁷ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, ¹⁸ Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

¹¹ And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks to the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever towards Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

⁵ (12:4)Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, even the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?

¹⁹ (102:18)This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. ²⁰ (102:19)For he hath looked down from the hight of his sanctuary; from heaven hath the LORD beheld the earth; ²¹ (102:20)To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

⁶ The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

²² For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

¹⁷ But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

¹¹ The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

¹⁹ (9:18)For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. ²⁰ (9:19)Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.

⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake. ¹⁰ Why should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by avenging the blood of thy servants which is shed.

⁵ Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for naught? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

¹ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

¹¹ He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. ¹² Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thy hand: forget not the humble.

⁷ (65:6)Who by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

⁴ Thy enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

²⁹ Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

¹⁶ All thy enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.

² Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
