1 Corinthians 9 Cross References - Wesley

1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? 2 Are not ye my work in the Lord? If I am not an apostle to others, yet I am to you; for ye are the seal of my apostleship. 3 My answer to them who examine me is this. 4 Have we not power to eat and to drink? 5 Have we not power to lead about with us a sister, a wife, as well as the other apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Peter? 6 Or I only and Barnabas, have we not power to forbear working? 7 Who ever warreth at his own charge? Who planteth a vineyard, and doth not eat of its fruit? Or who feedeth a flock, and doth not eat of the milk of the flock? 8 Do I speak these things as a man? Doth not the law also speak the same? 9 For it is written, in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn? Doth God take care for oxen? 10 Or speaketh he chiefly for our sakes? surely for our sakes it was written: for he who ploweth, ought to plow in hope; and he that thresheth in hope, ought to be a partaker of his hope. 11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter, if we shall reap your carnal things? 12 If others partake of this power over you, do not we rather? Yet we have not used this power: but we suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 13 Know ye not, that they who are employed about holy things, are fed out of the temple? And they who wait at the altar, are partakers with the altar. 14 So also hath the Lord ordained, that they who preach the gospel, should live of the gospel. 15 But I have used none of these things; nor have I written thus, that it might be done so unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make this my glorying void. 16 For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for a necessity lieth upon me, and wo is me, if I preach not the gospel. 17 If indeed I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if unwillingly, yet a dispensation is intrusted to me. 18 What then is my reward? that when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 19 For though I am free from all men, I made myself the servant of all, that I might gain the more. 20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews: to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law: 21 To them that are without the law, as without the law, (being not without the law to God, but under the law to Christ) that I might gain them that are without the law. 22 To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I became all things to all men, that by all means I might save some. 23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker thereof with you. 24 Know ye not, that they who run in the race, all run, but one receiveth the prize? so run that ye may obtain. 25 And every one that contendeth, is temperate in all things: and they indeed, to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; I so fight, not as one that beateth the air. 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection, lest by any means, after having preached to others, I myself should become a reprobate.

Matthew 5:17-20

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all things be effected. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of the least of these commandments and teach men so, shall be the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and each them, he shall be great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, That unless your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 6:26-30

26 Behold the birds of the air: they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. 27 Are ye not much better than they? And which of you by taking thought can add to his age the smallest measure? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now: if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the still, will he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Matthew 7:21-23

21 Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name have done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I declare to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Acts 21:20-26

20 And having heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said to him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of believing Jews there are, and they are all zealous for the law. 21 But they have been informed concerning thee, that thou teachest the Jews who are among the Gentiles, to apostatize from Moses, telling them, not to circumcise their children, nor to walk after the customs. 22 What is it therefore? The multitude must needs come together; for they will hear that thou art come. 23 Therefore do this that we say to thee: there are with us four men, who have a vow on them: 24 Take them and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all will know, that there is nothing of those things which they have heard of thee; but that thou thyself walkest orderly, keeping the law. 25 As touching the Gentiles that believe, we have written and determined, that they should observe no such thing; save only that they keep themselves from what is offered to idols, and from blood, and from what is strangled, and from fornication.

8 But he that planteth and he that watereth are one; and every one shall receive his own reward, according to his own labour. 9 For we are fellow-labourers of God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

1 Corinthians 3:14

14 If any one's work which he hath built thereon shall remain, he shall receive a reward.

1 Corinthians 4:1

1 Let a man so account us, as servants of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

1 Corinthians 4:11-12

11 Even to this present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain abode, And labour, working with our own hands: 12 being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

1 Corinthians 4:12

12 being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

1 Corinthians 4:14-15

14 I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. 15 For if ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers; for I have begotten you in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

1 Corinthians 6:7

7 Indeed even this is altogether a fault among you, that ye have contests with each other. Why do ye not rather suffer wrong?

1 Corinthians 6:12-13

12 All things are lawful for me; but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Meats are for the belly, and the belly for meats; yet God will destroy both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

1 Corinthians 7:7

7 but every one hath his proper gift from God, one after this manner, another after that.

1 Corinthians 7:15

15 But if the unbeliever will depart, let him depart: a brother or a sister is not inslaved in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. 16 For how knowest thou, O wife, but thou mayst save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O husband, but thou mayst save thy wife?

1 Corinthians 7:19-22

19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God. 20 Let every one in the calling wherein he is called, therein abide. 21 Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou canst be made free, use it rather. 22 For he that is called by the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman; and in like manner, he that is called being free, is the servant of Christ.

1 Corinthians 7:31

31 and they that buy, as if they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it; for the fashion of this world passeth away: Now I would have you without carefulness.

1 Corinthians 7:39

39 The wife is bound as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to marry whom she will; only in the Lord. 40 But she is happier, if she continue as she is, in my judgment; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 8:9

9 But take heed, lest by any means this your liberty become a stumbling-block to the weak.

1 Corinthians 8:13

13 Wherefore if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

1 Corinthians 9:1

1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? 2 Are not ye my work in the Lord? If I am not an apostle to others, yet I am to you; for ye are the seal of my apostleship.

1 Corinthians 9:2

2 Are not ye my work in the Lord? If I am not an apostle to others, yet I am to you; for ye are the seal of my apostleship. 3 My answer to them who examine me is this. 4 Have we not power to eat and to drink?

1 Corinthians 9:6-7

6 Or I only and Barnabas, have we not power to forbear working? 7 Who ever warreth at his own charge? Who planteth a vineyard, and doth not eat of its fruit? Or who feedeth a flock, and doth not eat of the milk of the flock?

1 Corinthians 9:7-7

1 Corinthians 9:12

1 Corinthians 9:18

1 Corinthians 9:25-27

25 And every one that contendeth, is temperate in all things: and they indeed, to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

1 Corinthians 9:25

25 And every one that contendeth, is temperate in all things: and they indeed, to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; I so fight, not as one that beateth the air.

1 Corinthians 9:26

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; I so fight, not as one that beateth the air. 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection, lest by any means, after having preached to others, I myself should become a reprobate.

1 Corinthians 10:18

18 Consider Israel after the flesh. Are not they who eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar?

1 Corinthians 10:33

33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but that of many that they may be saved.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so as to remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I give all my goods to feed the poor, and deliver up my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.

1 Corinthians 14:9

9 So likewise unless ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? For ye will speak to the air.

1 Corinthians 14:34

34 Let your women be silent in the churches; for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be in subjection, as the law also saith.

1 Corinthians 14:37

37 If any one think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you, are the commandments of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:8-9

8 Last of all he was seen by me also, as an untimely birth. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

1 Corinthians 15:54

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

2 Corinthians 2:4

4 For from much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that ye might be grieved, but that ye might know the abundant love which I have toward you.

2 Corinthians 3:1-3

1 Do we again begin to recommend ourselves? Unless we need, as some do, recommendatory letters to you, or recommendatory letters from you? 2 Ye are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by all men: 3 Manifestly declared to be the letter of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in tables of stone, but in the fleshly tables of the heart.

2 Corinthians 4:5

5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

2 Corinthians 4:15

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the overflowing grace might through the thanksgiving of many abound to the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 5:1

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2 Corinthians 5:8

8 We behave undauntedly, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 6:1

1 We then, as fellow-labourers, do also exhort you, not to receive the grace of God in vain.

2 Corinthians 6:3

3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed, But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, 4 in much patience, in afflictions, 5 in necessities, in distresses, In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

2 Corinthians 8:12

12 For if there be first a ready mind, a man is accepted, according to what he hath, not according to what he hath not.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the throwing down of strong-holds.) 5 Destroying reasonings, and every high thing which exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

2 Corinthians 10:7-8

7 Do ye look at the outward appearance of things? If any man be confident, that he is Christ's, let him again think this of himself, that as he is Christ's, so we also are Christ's. 8 Yea, if I should boast something more also of the authority which the Lord hath given us, for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

2 Corinthians 11:5

5 But I suppose that I fall nothing short of the very chief apostles.

2 Corinthians 11:7-10

7 Have I committed an offence in humbling myself, that ye might be exalted, because I have preached the gospel of God to you at free cost?

2 Corinthians 11:7-9

7 Have I committed an offence in humbling myself, that ye might be exalted, because I have preached the gospel of God to you at free cost? 8 I spoiled other churches, taking wages of them, to serve you: and when I was present with you and wanted, I was chargeable to no man.

2 Corinthians 11:8-9

8 I spoiled other churches, taking wages of them, to serve you: and when I was present with you and wanted, I was chargeable to no man. 9 For the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied my want; and I have in all things kept myself from being burdensom, and will keep myself.

2 Corinthians 11:9-12

9 For the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied my want; and I have in all things kept myself from being burdensom, and will keep myself.

2 Corinthians 11:9-9

9 For the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied my want; and I have in all things kept myself from being burdensom, and will keep myself. 10 As the truth of Christ is in me, this my boasting shall not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.

2 Corinthians 11:10-12

10 As the truth of Christ is in me, this my boasting shall not be stopped in the regions of Achaia. 11 Wherefore? 12 Because I love you not? God knoweth. But what I do, I will do, that I may cut off the occasion from them who desire occasion, that wherein they boast, they may be found even as we.

2 Corinthians 11:12-12

12 Because I love you not? God knoweth. But what I do, I will do, that I may cut off the occasion from them who desire occasion, that wherein they boast, they may be found even as we.

2 Corinthians 11:15

15 Therefore it is no great thing, if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose ends shall be according to their works.

2 Corinthians 11:20

20 if he devour you, if he take from you, if he exalt himself, if he smite you on the face.

2 Corinthians 11:27

27 In labour and toil, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

2 Corinthians 11:29

29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is offended, and I burn not?

2 Corinthians 12:11-12

11 I am become a fool in boasting; but ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended by you: for in nothing have I fallen short of the very chief apostles, though I am nothing. 12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you, in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

2 Corinthians 12:12

12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you, in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. 13 For wherein were ye inferior to the other churches, unless that I myself was not burdensom to you.

2 Corinthians 12:13-18

13 For wherein were ye inferior to the other churches, unless that I myself was not burdensom to you. 14 Forgive me this wrong. Behold the third time I am ready to come to you: yet I will not be burdensom to you; for I seek not yours, but you; for the children ought not to lay up treasure for the parents, but the parents for the children.

2 Corinthians 12:14-18

14 Forgive me this wrong. Behold the third time I am ready to come to you: yet I will not be burdensom to you; for I seek not yours, but you; for the children ought not to lay up treasure for the parents, but the parents for the children. 15 And I will most gladly spend, and be spent for your souls, though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved. 16 But be it so: I did not burden you: but being crafty, I caught you with guile.

2 Corinthians 12:16-18

16 But be it so: I did not burden you: but being crafty, I caught you with guile. 17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent to you?

2 Corinthians 12:17-18

17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent to you? 18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? Did we not walk in the same spirit? In the same steps?

2 Corinthians 12:18-18

18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? Did we not walk in the same spirit? In the same steps? 19 Think ye that we again excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ, and all things, beloved, for your edification.

2 Corinthians 13:3

3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but powerful among you.

2 Corinthians 13:5

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye are in the faith: prove yourselves. Do ye not know yourselves? That Jesus Christ is in you? unless ye are reprobates.

2 Corinthians 13:5-6

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye are in the faith: prove yourselves. Do ye not know yourselves? That Jesus Christ is in you? unless ye are reprobates. 6 And I trust, ye shall know, that we are not reprobates.

2 Corinthians 13:10

10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use severity, according to the power which the Lord hath given me, for edification, and not for destruction.

Galatians 1:1

1 Paul an apostle (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father,

Galatians 1:15-17

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not confer with flesh and blood: 17 Neither did I go up to Jerusalem, to them that were apostles before me, but I immediately went into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

Galatians 1:19

19 But other of the apostles I saw none, save James, the brother of the Lord.

Galatians 2:2

2 I went up by revelation, and explained to them the gospel, which I preach among the Gentiles; but severally to those of eminence, lest by any means I should run, or should have run in vain. 3 (But neither was Titus, who was with me, 4 being a Greek, compelled to be circumcised, Because of false brethren introduced unawares, who came in privily, to spy out our liberty which we have through Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5 To whom we did not yield by submission, no, not an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.)

Galatians 2:7-8

7 But on the contrary, when they saw that I was intrusted with the gospel of the uncircumcision, as Peter with that of the circumcision:

Galatians 2:7

7 But on the contrary, when they saw that I was intrusted with the gospel of the uncircumcision, as Peter with that of the circumcision: 8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, wrought likewise effectually in me toward the Gentiles:

Galatians 2:12-14

12 For before certain men came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision. 13 And the other Jews also dissembled with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their dissimulation. 14 But when I saw, that they walked not uprightly, according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, If thou being a Jew, livest after the manner of the Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to judaize?

Galatians 3:2

2 This only would I learn of you, Did you receive the Spirit, by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Galatians 4:5

5 made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem those under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Galatians 4:21

21 Tell me, ye that would be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Galatians 5:1

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free, and be not intangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Galatians 5:7

7 Ye did run well: who hath hindered you, that ye should not obey the truth?

Galatians 5:13

13 Brethren, ye have been called to liberty: only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Galatians 5:13-14

13 Brethren, ye have been called to liberty: only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Galatians 5:18

18 But if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, fidelity, 23 Meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:23

23 Meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.

Galatians 6:1

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in any fault, ye who are spiritual restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Galatians 6:6

6 Let him that is taught in the word impart to him that teacheth in all good things.

Ephesians 3:2-8

2 given me to you ward, That by revelation he made known to me the mystery: 3 as I wrote before in few words, 4 By reading which ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ: 5 Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed to the holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit, 6 That the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and joint-partakers of his promise by Christ through the gospel, 7 Of which I have been made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effectual working of his power. 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints is this grace given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

Ephesians 6:1-3

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right. Honour 2 thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise) That it may be well with thee, 3 and thou mayst live long upon the earth.

Ephesians 6:12-18

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the world, of the darkness of this age, against wicked spirits in heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:12

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the world, of the darkness of this age, against wicked spirits in heavenly places. 13 Wherefore take to you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 And having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, 18 which is the word of God, Praying alway by the Spirit with all prayer and supplication, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

Philippians 1:7

7 As it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, who were all partakers of my grace, both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel.

Philippians 1:16-17

16 The one preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17 But the others out of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

Philippians 1:17-17

17 But the others out of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

Philippians 1:20-23

20 According to my earnest expectation and hope, that I shall be ashamed in nothing, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also, Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Philippians 1:21

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I am to live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour, and what I should chuse, I know not. 23 For I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, for it is far better.

Colossians 4:17

17 And say to Archippus, Take heed that thou fulfil the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 2:4

4 But as we have been approved of God to be intrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who trieth our hearts.

1 Thessalonians 2:6

6 Nor sought we glory of men, neither from you, nor from others, when we might have been burdensome, as the Apostles of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 2:6-9

6 Nor sought we glory of men, neither from you, nor from others, when we might have been burdensome, as the Apostles of Christ. 7 But we were gentle in the midst of you, even as a nurse cherisheth her own children. 8 So, loving you tenderly, we were ready to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but our own souls also, because ye were dear to us. 9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and toil: working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

1 Thessalonians 2:9-9

9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and toil: working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, even because when ye received the word of God from us, ye received it, not as the word of men, but (as it is in truth) the word of God, who likewise effectually worketh in you that believe.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-2

1 It remaineth then, brethren, that we beseech and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, that ye abound therein more and more. 2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:8

8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man but God; who hath also given you his Holy Spirit.

2 Thessalonians 3:7-9

7 For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you, 8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nothing, but wrought with labour and toil, night and day, that we might not burden any of you.

2 Thessalonians 3:8

8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nothing, but wrought with labour and toil, night and day, that we might not burden any of you. 9 Not because we have not power; but that we might make ourselves an example to you, that ye might imitate us.

1 Timothy 1:11-13

11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I am instructed. 12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, in that he accounted me faithful, 13 having put me into the ministry, Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and a reviler; but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

1 Timothy 1:18

18 This charge I commit to thee, son Timotheus, according to the prophecies which went before concerning thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare:

1 Timothy 2:7

7 to be testified of in due season, Whereunto I am ordained a preacher and an apostle, (I speak the truth, I lie not) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

1 Timothy 3:2

2 A bishop therefore must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, prudent, of good behaviour, hospitable, apt to teach;

1 Timothy 4:3

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.

1 Timothy 4:16

16 Take heed to thyself and to thy teaching: continue in them, for in so doing thou shalt save both thyself and them that hear thee.

1 Timothy 5:2

2 The elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, with all purity.

1 Timothy 5:17-18

17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in the word and teaching. 18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

1 Timothy 5:18

18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

1 Timothy 6:12

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which thou art called, and hast confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

2 Timothy 1:11

11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12 For which cause also I suffer these things: yet I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have trusted, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him, until that day.

2 Timothy 2:3-4

3 Thou therefore endure affliction, is a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth intangleth himself in the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath inlisted him. 5 And if a man strive, he is not crowned, unless he strive lawfully. 6 The husbandman, that laboureth first, must be partaker of the fruits.

2 Timothy 2:10

10 Therefore I suffer all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is through Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

2 Timothy 2:22

22 Flee also youthful desires; but follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace with them that call upon the Lord, out of a pure heart.

2 Timothy 4:7

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;

2 Timothy 4:7-8

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge will render me in that day, and not to me only, but to all them likewise that have loved his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:16

16 At my first defence no man was with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge?

Titus 1:1-3

1 Paul a servant of God, and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, in things concerning the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is after godliness, 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3 And he hath in due time manifested his word, thro' the preaching wherewith I am intrusted, according to the commandment of God our Saviour:

Titus 1:6
