¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

³² Then his lord calling him, said to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou intreatedst me. ³³ Should'st not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow-servant, as I had pity on thee?

³⁷ And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go and do thou likewise.

³⁴ A new commandment I give you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

¹² This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. ¹³ No one hath greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

⁸ I speak not by way of command, but that by the diligence of others, I may prove the sincerity of your love. ⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking be put away from you with all malice.

¹³ Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

¹⁶ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
