⁷ And near that place was the estate of the chief man of the island, named Publius, who receiving us into his house, entertained us courteously three days.

⁴⁰ and he that entertaineth me, entertaineth him that sent me. ⁴¹ He that entertaineth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward: and he that entertaineth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man's reward.

⁶ And he made haste and came down, and received him joyfully. ⁷ And seeing it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone to be guest with a sinner. ⁸ And Zaccheus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have taken any thing from any man wrongfully, I restore him fourfold. ⁹ And Jesus said to him, To day is salvation come to this house; forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

⁷ Who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man. He calling to him Barnabas and Saul, desired to hear the word of God.

² And the barbarians shewed us uncommon kindness; for having kindled a fire, they brought us all to it, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
