²⁰ said, Go, stand and speak in the temple the words of this life.

²³ And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority dost thou these things? And who gave thee this authority?

⁶³ It is the Spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken, they are spirit and they are life.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, saying, Lord, to whom shall we go?

⁵⁰ And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; what therefore I speak to you, as the Father hath said to me, so I speak.

³ And this is life eternal, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

⁸ For I have given them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and have known surely, that I came forth from thee, and they have believed that thou hast sent me.

²⁰ Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I was continually teaching in the synagogue and in the temple, whither all the Jews resort, and in secret have I said nothing.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld, and our hands have handled of the word of life: ² For the life was manifested, and we have seen, and testify and declare to you the eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us: ³ That which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ:

¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
