³² And he desired Philip to come up, and sit with him. The portion of scripture which he was reading, was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth.

⁶² And the high priest rising up said to him, Answerest thou nothing? What do these witness against thee? ⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answering said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, to tell us, if thou art the Christ, the Son of God?

³⁴ Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.

²⁹ The next day he seeth Jesus coming toward him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world.

⁹ That the saying might be fulfilled which he had spoke, Of them whom thou hast given me, I have lost none. ¹⁰ Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right-ear. The servant's name was Malchus. ¹¹ Then said Jesus to Peter, Put up the sword into its scabbard. The cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

²¹ For even hereunto are ye called; for Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye might follow his steps: ²² Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: ²³ Who when he was reviled, reviled not again, when he suffered he threatened not, but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: ²⁴ Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sin might live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
