⁴⁰ He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their hearts, that they might not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted, that I might heal them.

¹³ Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. ¹⁴ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah who saith, Hearing ye will hear, but in no wise understand, and seeing ye will see, but in no wise perceive. ¹⁵ For the heart of this people is waxed fat, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed: lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and should be converted and I should heal them.

¹⁴ Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind: but if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a ditch.

¹² So that seeing they see, and do not perceive, and hearing they hear, and do not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

⁵² For they considered not the miracle of the loaves; for their heart was hardened.

¹⁷ And Jesus knowing it saith to them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? Perceive ye not yet, neither consider? Have ye your heart yet hardened? ¹⁸ Having eyes, see ye not? And having ears, hear ye not? And do not ye remember?

¹⁸ he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me, to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

¹⁰ And he said, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables, so that seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not understand.

³⁹ And he worshiped him. Jesus said, For judgment am I come into the world, that they who see not, may see, and that they who see, may become blind.

¹⁹ Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that the times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

³ And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.

²⁶ Saying, Go to this people and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive.

¹⁸ So then he hath mercy on whom he willeth, and whom he willeth, he hardneth.

⁷ What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh, but the election hath obtained, and the rest were blinded. ⁸ According as it is written, God hath given them a spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this day. ⁹ And David saith, Let their table become a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompence to them. ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. ¹¹ I say then, Have they stumbled so as to fall? God forbid. But by their fall salvation is come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

¹⁹ Brethren, if any one among you err from the truth, and one convert him, ²⁰ Let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way, shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
