¹² But Peter rising, ran to the sepulchre; and stooping down, he seeth the linen clothes laid by themselves; and he went home, wondring at what was come to pass.

³ Then Peter went out and the other disciple, and ran toward the sepulchre. ⁴ They both ran together: but the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. ⁵ And stooping down, he saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. ⁶ Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the napkin that was about his head, ⁷ not lying with the linen clothes, but folded up in a place by itself. ⁸ Then the other disciple, who came first to the sepulchre, went in; and he saw and believed. ⁹ For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. ¹⁰ Then the disciples went home again.
