³⁸ But new wine must be put into new bottles, and both are preserved.

⁵ of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews, touching the law, a Pharisee; Touching zeal, ⁶ persecuting the church, touching the righteousness, which is by the law, blameless. ⁷ But whatsoever things were gain to me, those I have accounted loss for Christ.

¹⁹ And not holding the head, from which all the body being nourished and knit together, by the joints and ligaments, increaseth with the increase of God. ²⁰ Therefore if ye are dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as living in the world, receive ye ordinances, ²¹ (Touch not, taste not, handle not: ²² All which are to perish in the using) after the commandments and doctrines of men? ²³ Which things (though they have indeed a shew of wisdom, in voluntary worship and humility, and not sparing the body) yet are not of any value, but are to the satisfying of the flesh.

⁸ For finding fault with them he saith, Behold the days come, saith the Lord, when I will finish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: ⁹ Not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the hand, to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people. ¹¹ And they shall not teach every one his neighbour, and every one his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least to the greatest. ¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. ¹³ In saying, a new covenant, he hath antiquated the first; now that which is antiquated and decayed, is ready to vanish away.

¹⁷ Therefore if any one be in Christ, there is a new creation: the old things are passed way; behold, all things are become new:

⁴ being a Greek, compelled to be circumcised, Because of false brethren introduced unawares, who came in privily, to spy out our liberty which we have through Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

¹² For before certain men came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision. ¹³ And the other Jews also dissembled with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their dissimulation. ¹⁴ But when I saw, that they walked not uprightly, according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, If thou being a Jew, livest after the manner of the Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to judaize?

⁹ But now having known God, or rather being known of God, how turn ye back to the weak and beggarly elements, to which ye desire to be in bondage again? ¹⁰ Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid for you, lest I have laboured upon you in vain. ¹¹ Brethren, I beseech you, be ye as I am; for I also am as ye were: ye have not injured me at all.

¹ Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free, and be not intangled again with the yoke of bondage. ² Behold, I Paul say unto you, If ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. ³ For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, he is a debtor to do the whole law. ⁴ Christ is become of no effect to you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. ⁵ For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. ⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.

¹³ For neither they who are circumcised keep the law; but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. ¹⁴ But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world is crucified to me, and I unto the world.

⁸ For bodily exercise profiteth a little; but godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of the present life, and of that which is to come.

⁹ Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines; for it is good, that the heart be stablished with grace, not with meats, in which they that have walked have not been profited. ¹⁰ We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle.

⁵ And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold I make all things new. And he saith to me, Write: these sayings are faithful and true.
