¹³ And when it was day, he called to him his disciples, and chose twelve of them, whom also he named Apostles:

³⁶ But seeing the multitudes he was moved with tender compassion for them, because they were faint and scattered, as sheep having no shepherd.

²⁸ Jesus said to them, Verily I say to you, that ye who have followed me, in the renovation, when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

⁷ And he calleth to him the twelve, and sent them forth by two and two, and gave them power over unclean spirits;

³⁰ And the apostles gather themselves together to Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught.

¹ And calling together the twelve, he gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases. ² And he sent them to preach the gospel of the kingdom, and to heal the sick. And said to them, Take nothing for your journey,

⁴⁹ Therefore also the wisdom of God hath said, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will slay, and persecute the rest.

³⁰ That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

¹³ And when they were come in, they went up into the upper-room, where both Peter and James, and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Jude the brother of James tarried.

²⁰ Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone, On whom all the building fitly framed together,

²⁰ Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints, and apostles, and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

¹⁴ And the walls of the city had twelve foundations, and upon them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
