¹⁸ Now the birth of Christ was on this wise: His mother Mary, being espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

¹ Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold wise men came from the East to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born king of the Jews? ² For we have seen his star in the East, and are come to worship him.

¹⁶ And Jesus being baptized, went up straightway from the water, and lo the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming upon him.

²⁷ And when Jesus passed thence, two blind men followed him, crying and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.

²² And behold a woman of Canaan, of those coasts, came and cried to him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David: my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

⁴² Whose son is he? They say to him, David's. ⁴³ He saith to them, How doth David then by the Spirit call him Lord? ⁴⁴ Saying, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my righthand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. ⁴⁵ If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

³¹ And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. ³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give him the throne of his father David.

⁶⁹ And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us, in the house of his servant David: ⁷⁰ As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began: That we should be saved from our enemies,

⁴² But some said, Doth Christ come out of Galilee? Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town where David was?

³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, That of the fruit of his loins one should sit on his throne,

²² And having removed him, he raised up to them David for their king, to whom also bearing witness he said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, who will do all my will. ²³ Of this man's seed hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus;

³ Concerning his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord,

¹³ For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham or to his seed by the law, but by the righteousness of faith.

⁵ Whose are the fathers, and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is, over all, God, blessed for ever.

¹⁶ Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

¹⁶ I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to you, to the churches, these things. I am the root and the off-spring of David, the bright, the morning-star. And the spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come.

³³ the son of Salmon, the son of Naasson, The son of Aminadab, the son of Aaron, the son of Esrom, the son of Phares, the son of Judah, ³⁴ The son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah,

⁸ And he gave him the covenant of circumcision, and so he begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day, and Isaac Jacob, and Jacob the twelve patriarchs.

⁷ Neither because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children, but in Isaac shall thy seed be called: ⁸ That is, not the children of the flesh are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. ⁹ For this is the word of the promise, At this time I will come, and Sarah shall have a son. ¹⁰ And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, ¹¹ our father Isaac, The children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil (that the purpose of God according to election might stand not of works, but of him that called,) It was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger. ¹² As it is written, I have loved Jacob, ¹³ and hated Esau.

¹⁴ For it is evident, that our Lord sprang out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning the priesthood.

¹¹ By faith Sarah also herself received power to conceive seed, even when she was past age, because she accounted him faithful who had promised.

¹⁷ By faith Abraham, being tried, offered up Isaac, and he that had received the promises, offered up his only begotten son: ¹⁸ Of whom it had been said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called:

⁵ Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand, of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand, of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand,

³³ the son of Salmon, the son of Naasson, The son of Aminadab, the son of Aaron, the son of Esrom, the son of Phares, the son of Judah,

³² the son of David, The son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Booz,

³¹ By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with them that believed not, having received the spies with peace.

³ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God hath done: sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, to be a sacrifice for sin, he hath condemned sin in the flesh:

²² They say, Barabbas. Pilate saith to them, What shall I do then with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all say to him, Let him be crucified.

³ Is not this the carpenter? The son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses, and of Judas and Simon! And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

⁷ And she brought forth her son, the first-born, and swathed him, and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

¹⁰ And the angel said to them, Fear not; for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ¹¹ For to you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.

⁴⁸ And seeing him they were amazed. And his mother said to him, Son, why hast thou done thus to us? Behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

²³ And Jesus was about thirty years of age, when he began his ministry, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, who was the son of Heli,

²² And they all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

²⁵ The woman saith to him, I know that the Messiah is coming, who is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

⁴ But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, ⁵ made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem those under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

²⁶ For such an high priest became us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens:

⁵ Therefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou hast not chosen, but a body hast thou prepared for me.

²⁰ For Herod reverenced John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and preserved him: and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

⁴ They said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorce, and to put her away.

²⁵ And behold there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and religious, waiting for the Consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

⁴ They say to him, Master, this woman was taken actually committing adultery. ⁵ Now Moses hath commanded us in the law, to stoee such.

²² And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and fearing God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned of God by an holy angel, to send for thee to his house, and to hear words from thee.

¹⁹ But when Herod was dead, behold an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

²² and came into the land of Israel, But having heard, Archelaus reigneth over Judea, in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither, and being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee.

⁵ But the angel answering said to the women, Fear not ye; for I know ye seek Jesus who was crucified.

¹⁰ And the whole multitude of the people were praying without, at the time of incense. ¹¹ And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. ¹² And Zacharias seeing him was troubled, and fear fell upon him. ¹³ But the angel said to him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

¹⁹ And the angel answering, said to him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God, and am sent to speak to thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

²³ Of this man's seed hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus;

³⁸ Be it known unto you therefore, that through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins. ³⁹ And by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it; ²⁶ That he might sanctify it (having cleansed it by the washing of water) through the word: ²⁷ That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, that it may be holy and unblamable.

²⁰ And by him to reconcile all things to himself (having made peace by him, through the blood of the cross) whether things on earth, or things in heaven. ²¹ And you that were once alienated, and enemies in your mind by wicked works, ²² he hath now reconciled, By the body of his flesh, through death, to present you holy, and spotless, and unreproveable in his sight: ²³ If ye continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and are not removed from the hope of the gospel which ye have heard, which is preached to every creature that is under heaven, whereof I Paul am made a minister.

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

²⁵ Wherefore he is able also, to save them to the uttermost who come to God thro' him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

⁷ But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

¹ My beloved children, I write these things to you, that ye may not sin. But if any one sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous, And he is the propitiation for our sins; ² and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁵ And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

⁵ And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first begotten from the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth: ⁶ To him that loved us, and hath washed us from our sins with his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto his God and Father, to him be the glory and the might for ever.

¹⁴ And he said to me, These are they who come out of great affliction, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹⁵ that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

²³ And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

¹⁷ Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill.

¹⁷ Whereby was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our diseases.

¹⁷ Behold my servant,

²¹ Yet hath he not root in himself, and so endureth but for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straight-way he is offended.

³⁵ Whereby was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hid from the foundation of the world.

²² For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

⁴⁴ And he said to them, These are the words which I spake to you, being yet with you, that all things written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms concerning me, must be fulfilled.

³⁵ If he call them gods, to whom the word of

³⁸ So that the word of the prophet Isaiah was fulfilled which he said, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? ³⁹ Therefore they could not believe, according to what Isaiah said again. ⁴⁰ He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their hearts, that they might not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted, that I might heal them.

²⁵ So that the word which is written in their law is fulfilled, They hated me without a cause.

¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them thro' thy name. Those whom thou hast given me I have guarded, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

⁹ That the saying might be fulfilled which he had spoke, Of them whom thou hast given me, I have lost none.

³⁶ For these things were done, that the scripture might be fulfilled, A bone of it shall not be broken. ³⁷ And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they have pierced.

¹⁸ But God hath thus fulfilled the things which he foretold by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer.

²⁷ For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, neither knowing him, nor the sayings of the prophets, which are read very sabbath-day, have fulfilled them, in condemning him. ²⁸ And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate, that he might be put to death. ²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all things that were written of him, taking him down from the tree, they laid him in a sepulchre.

¹⁷ For God hath put it into their hearts, to fulfill his will, and to agree and to give their kingdom to the beast, till the words of God shall be fulfilled.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the world.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and tabernacled among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.

⁹ Then the Lord said to Paul by a vision, in the night, Fear not, but speak and hold not thy peace:

³ Concerning his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, ⁴ who was of the seed of David, according to the flesh, But declared the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead,

¹⁹ that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their traspasses to them, and hath committed to us the word of reconciliation.

¹⁶ The mystery of godliness is the pillar and ground of the truth, and without controversy a great thing: God was manifested in the flesh, was justified by the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up into glory.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fully known, even that all nations might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

²² The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you.

⁵ Mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith to the servants, Whatsoever he saith to you, do. ⁶ And there were set there six water-pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece. ⁷ Jesus saith to them, Fill the water-pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. ⁸ And he saith to them, Draw out now, and carry to the governor of the feast.

¹⁴ Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. I no longer call you servants,

⁷ By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his houshold, by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. ⁸ By faith Abraham, being called to go out into the place which he was to receive for an inheritance, obeyed and went out, not knowing whither he went.

²⁴ By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, ²⁵ Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. ²⁶ Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he looked off unto the recompence of reward. ²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing him that is invisible. ²⁸ By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the first born should touch them. ²⁹ By faith they passed thro' the Red Sea, as by dry land, which the Egyptians trying to do, were drowned. ³⁰ By faith the walls of Jericho, having been compassed seven days, fell down. ³¹ By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with them that believed not, having received the spies with peace.

²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered up Isaac his son upon the altar? ²² Thou seest that faith wrought together with his works, and by works was faith made perfect. ²³ And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness: and he was called the friend of God. ²⁴ Ye see then, that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. ²⁵ In like manner Rahab the harlot also was justified by works, having received the messengers and sent them out another way? ²⁶ Therefore as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins.

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated, conformable to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren.
