³ For they being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

³⁰ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles who followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith: ³¹ But Israel following after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. ³² Wherefore? Because they sought it, not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law: for they stumbled at that stumbling stone;

⁹ that I may gain Christ, And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:

²⁹ But he willing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

¹⁷ And coming to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger? ¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee: ¹⁹ I am no more worthy to be called thy son; make me as one of thy hired servants. ²⁰ And he arose and came to his father: But while he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and his bowels yearned, and he ran, and fell on his neck and kissed him. ²¹ And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

¹⁵ And he said to them, Ye are they who justify yourselves before men: but God knoweth your hearts: And that which is highly esteemed among men, is an abomination before God.

⁹ And he spake this parable to certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others. ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed thus, God I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, rapacious, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week: I give tythes of all that I possess.

⁹ Of sin, because they believe not on me; ¹⁰ Of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye see me no more;

¹⁷ For the righteousness of God is revealed therein from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

²² Even the righteousness of God, by the faith of Jesus Christ, to all and upon all that believe; for there is no difference:

²⁶ I say, of his righteousness in this present time, that he might be just, and yet the justifier of him that believeth in Jesus.

¹⁹ For as by the disobedience of one man, many were constituted sinners, so by the obedience of one, many shall be constituted righteous.

²¹ For he hath made him, who knew no sin, a sin-offering for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God through him.

³ For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, he is a debtor to do the whole law. ⁴ Christ is become of no effect to you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us, thro' the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ Because thou sayst, I am rich, and have inriched myself, and have need of nothing, and knowest not, that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. ¹⁸ I counsel thee to buy of me gold purified in the fire, that thou mayst be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayst be clothed, and the shame of thy nakedness may not appear; and eye-salve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayst see.
