⁹ For we are glad when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, your perfection.

¹⁰ We [are] fools for Christ's sake, but ye [are] wise in Christ: we weak, but ye strong: ye honourable, but we despised.

¹ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse our selves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

³⁰ If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

⁵ Of such an one will I glory: yet of my self I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. ⁶ For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me [to be], or [that] he heareth of me. ⁷ And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me. ⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

⁷ Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. ⁸ For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

¹¹ Finally, brethren, farewell: be perfect, be of good comfort, be unanimous, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: ¹³ Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ;

¹² Not as though I had already attained, or am already justified, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended of Christ. ¹³ Brethren, I count not my self to have yet apprended: but one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in the Lord Jesus Christ. ¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching them in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ.

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you; always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect, and fully assured in all the will of Christ,

¹⁰ Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

¹⁷ That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

¹ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works; and of faith towards God;

²³ To the general assembly and church of the first-born who are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

²¹ Make us perfect in every good work: that we may do his will; working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever: Amen.

¹⁰ But the God of all Grace, who hath called you unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, will make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].
