¹ Wherefore, Holy Brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and high priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; ² Who was faithful to him that made him, as also [was] Moses in all his house. ³ For he was counted worthy of more glory than [Moses], inasmuch as he who hath builded the house, hath more honour than the house. ⁴ For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things [is] God. ⁵ And Moses verily [was] faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; ⁶ But Christ as a Son over his own house: which house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. ⁷ Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, ⁸ Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: ⁹ When your fathers tried [and] proved me in that trial, and saw my works forty years. ¹⁰ Wherefore I was grieved with this generation, and said, They do alway err in heart; and they have not known my ways. ¹¹ So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. ¹² Take heed, Brethren, lest here be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. ¹³ But exhort one another daily, while it is called, Today; lest any of you be hardned through the deceitfulness of sin. ¹⁴ For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; ¹⁵ While it is said, To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. ¹⁶ For some when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. ¹⁷ But with whom was he grieved forty years? [was it] not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? ¹⁸ And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? ¹⁹ So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

²¹ He therefore said to them again, Peace be unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

²⁷ Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and put unto my side; and be not faithless, but believing.

⁶ Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ. ⁷ To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, the called saints: Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are called according to [his] purpose. ²⁹ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

²⁴ Even us whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.

¹⁷ And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in amongst them, and with them partakest of the fatness of the olive-tree;

⁸ For I say, that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises unto the fathers:

²⁷ And their debters they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

² Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.

²³ And I do all things for the gospels sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you].

¹⁷ For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we all are partakers of one bread, and of one cup.

⁷ Knowing that as you [are] partakers of the sufferings, so also of the consolation.

⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs; and of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ, by the gospel:

¹ I therefore the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you, that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

⁴ One body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

¹⁴ I press toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹² Giving thanks unto the Father, who hath called us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

²² In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable, and unreproveable in his sight:

¹² Put on therefore as the elect of God holy and beloved bowels of mercies, also kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

¹² That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

²⁷ I adjure you by the Lord, that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.

¹¹ Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:

¹⁴ Whereunto he called you by our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

² And they that have believing masters, let them not despise [them], because they are brethren: but rather do [them] service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

¹² Fight the good fight of faith, lay bold on eternal life, whereunto thou art called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

⁹ Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began,

⁷ Mind what I say; and the Lord will give thee understanding in all things.

¹¹ For both he that sanctifieth, and they who are sanctified, [are] all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them Brethren,

¹⁷ Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren; that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest, in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people:

¹⁴ For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

¹⁴ Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. ¹⁵ For we have not an high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, without sin.

¹ For every high priest taken from among men, is ordained for men in things [pertaining] to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: ² Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity: ³ And for that reason he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. ⁴ And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as [was] Aaron: ⁵ So also, Christ glorified not himself, to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to-day have I begotten thee. ⁶ As he saith also again in another [place], Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec, ⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears, unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard, in that he feared; ⁸ Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience, by the things which he suffered: ⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; ¹⁰ Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

²⁰ Whither the forerunner is for us entered, Jesus Christ; made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

²⁶ For such an high priest became us also, holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

¹ Now of the things which we have spoken, [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; ² A minister of the sanctuary, of the true tabernacle which the Lord pitched, and not man. ³ For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore [it is] of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

¹¹ But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, through a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

²¹ And an high priest over the house of God:

⁹ But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

⁵ For after this manner in the old time, the holy women also who trusted in God adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands;

¹ The elders therefore who are among you I exhort, who am a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

¹⁰ But the God of all Grace, who hath called you unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, will make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].

³ According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us by his own glory and virtue : ⁴ Whereby are given unto you exceeding great and precious promises; that by these you might be partakers of a divine nature, having escaped the Corruption that is in the world through lust. ⁵ And do ye give all diligence, add to your faith, virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness; ⁷ And to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity. ⁸ For if these things be present with you, and abound, they make [you] neither barren, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he that lacketh these things, is blind, and cannot see far off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ¹⁰ Wherefore the rather, Brethren, give diligence that by your good works you may make your comfort and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall not fall:

³ That which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

¹ JUDE the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are beloved by God the Father, the preserved and called in Jesus Christ:

¹⁴ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with him, [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and the saints and the apostles and prophets, for God hath avenged you on her.

³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of the father that sent me. ³⁹ And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but that I should raise it up again at the last day. ⁴⁰ For this is the will of my Father that sent me, that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

¹⁸ He that speaketh of himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, he is true, and unrighteousness is not in him.

²⁹ And he that sent me, is with me: He hath not left me alone: for I do always those things that please him.

¹⁰ If ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I also have kept my Fathers commandments, and abide in his love.

⁴ I have glorified thee on the earth: And I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

²² In whom you also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

¹² And I thank him who hath enabled me by Christ Jesus our Lord: for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

¹⁵ But if I tarry long, that thou mayst know how thou oughtest to behave thy self in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

⁵ And Moses verily [was] faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; ⁶ But Christ as a Son over his own house: which house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

¹⁸ And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, [a Rock] and upon this Rock will I build my church: and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

⁹ For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, God's building.

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence,

² Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the ages. ³ Who being a beam of his glory, and the express image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: ⁴ Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

⁶ But Christ as a Son over his own house: which house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

⁵ Ye also as lively stones, are built upon them a spiritual house, unto an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. ⁶ Wherefore alsoit is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. ⁷ Unto you therefore who believe [he is] precious: but unto them who be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner.

² Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the ages.

³ For he was counted worthy of more glory than [Moses], inasmuch as he who hath builded the house, hath more honour than the house.

⁴⁵ For who is a faithful and wise servant, whom the Lord hath made ruler over his houshold, to give them meat in season?

²¹ His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant; because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

⁴² And the Lord said, Who then is that wise and good steward, whom [his] lord shall make ruler over his houshold, to give [them their] portion of meat in due season?

¹⁰ He that his faithful in the least, is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in a little, is unjust also in much. ¹¹ If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true? ¹² And if ye have not been faithful in that which is anothers, who shall give you that which is your own?

²⁷ And he began from Moses, and all the prophets, to expound unto them in the scriptures, the things concerning himself.

⁴⁴ And he said unto them, These [were] my words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms concerning me.

³⁹ Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testifie of me.

⁴⁶ For had ye believed Moses, ye would also have believed me: for he wrote of me.

⁴⁶ But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

²² Moses truly said unto our fathers, A prophet shall the Lord our God raise up unto you, of our brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. ²³ And it shall come to pass, every soul which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

³⁷ This is that Moses who said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him unto his lodging; to whom he expounded testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, out of the law of Moses, and [out of] the prophets, from morning till evening.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

² Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

² Who was faithful to him that made him, as also [was] Moses in all his house.

⁵ Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle. For see, saith he, thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

⁸ The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all, is not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle is yet standing: ⁹ Which [is] the first for the time now present, in which are offered both gifts and sacrifices, that cannot make him that does the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience, ¹⁰ [Being] only in meats, and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances imposed until the time of reformation. ¹¹ But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, through a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; ¹² Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of goats, and of bulls, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh;

²⁴ For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, the figures of the true; but into heaven it self, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

¹⁰ Of which salvation the prophets have enquired, and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace unto you: ¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings for Christ, and the glory that should follow. ¹² Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you they did minister the things which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you, by the Holy Ghost, sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

²² And ye shall be hated of all for my names sake: but he that endureth to the end, shall be saved.

¹³ But he that shall have endured unto the end, the same shall be saved.

³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. ³⁶ That he who believeth on the Son, may have eternal life: But he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

² By whom also we have access into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

²² Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but towards thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off,

¹² Rejoycing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer:

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace; that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.

¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

¹⁹ What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

¹⁶ And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for we are the temple of the living God; for God saith, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

²¹ In whom all the building fitly framed together, groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: ²² In whom you also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

²³ If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, which was preached to all the creation that is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.

¹⁶ Rejoice evermore.

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God the Father, who hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting consolation, and good hope through grace,

¹¹ Let us labour therefore, Brethren, to enter into that rest, lest any man fall from the same example of truth.

¹⁴ Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession.

¹¹ And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

²³ Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for he [is] faithful that promised:

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

³⁸ Now the just shall live by my faith: but if he draw back, my foul shall have no pleasure in him. ³⁹ But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition: but of them that believe, to the saving of the soul.

³ Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ⁴ To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, ⁵ Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time. ⁶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations.

⁸ Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable, and full of glory:

¹⁸ And unto the angel who is at Thyatira, write. These things saith the Son of God, who hath eyes like unto a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass.

²⁵ But that which ye have; hold fast till I come.

¹¹ I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

⁵ While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud over-shadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

⁴³ He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying;

³⁶ David himself says, by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I shall put thine enemies beneath thy feet.

²⁵ Verily verily I say unto you, That the hour cometh and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.

³ To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his void; and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

¹⁶ But other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; and they will be one fold, one shepherd.

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

¹⁶ Men, brethren, this scripture must needs be fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus.

²⁵ And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word. Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the Prophet, unto our fathers,

¹ We fellow-workers exhorting you, Receive not the grace of God in vain: ² For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in a day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now [is] the accepted time; behold, now the day of salvation.

¹³ But exhort one another daily, while it is called, Today; lest any of you be hardned through the deceitfulness of sin.

¹⁵ While it is said, To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

⁷ Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it was said beforehand, To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

⁸ The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all, is not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle is yet standing:

¹³ Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow let us go into such a city, and continue a year, and buy and sell; and we will get gain: ¹⁴ Whereas ye know not what [shall be] on the morrow: What [is]your life? It will be even a vapour that appeareth for a little time, and then also vanisheth away. ¹⁵ For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

²¹ For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake, being moved by the Holy Ghost.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

¹⁵ For this peoples heart is waxed gross and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and should mind it with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

⁹ But then divers of them were hardned, and believed not, and spake evil of the way before the multitude of the Gentiles. Then Paul departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyranus, from the fifth hour to the tenth.

⁵ But after thy hardness and impenitent heart, treasurest up unto thy self wrath against the day of wrath, and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; ⁶ Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

⁹ Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

¹² Take heed, Brethren, lest here be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. ¹³ But exhort one another daily, while it is called, Today; lest any of you be hardned through the deceitfulness of sin.

²² Then Jesus answering, said unto them, Go and tell John what things your eyes have seen, and your ears have heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to [them]:

³⁶ He brought them out, having done wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

⁸ But Hetoimas the sorcerer, for so is his name by interpretation, withstood them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith, because he very willingly heard them.

⁵ And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the deadness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored presently.

¹⁹ And this is the judgement, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that doth evil things hateth the light, lest his deeds should be reproved by the light.

⁴⁵ Because I tell the truth, ye believe me not.

²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient:

⁷ For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

³⁰ And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness, in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth of Christ, that they might be saved. ¹¹ For this cause God sends them strong delusion, that they shall believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹² Take heed, Brethren, lest here be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

¹⁸ And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? ¹⁹ So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

³ For we who have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

⁵ And in this again, If they shalt enter into my rest.

⁹ Therefore this is another rest yet to come, for the people of God.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said unto him: Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁴ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man may deceive you.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of man proceed evil reasonings, fornications, thefts, adulteries, murder, ²² Covetousness, deceit, wickedness, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemies, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these wicked things come from within, and defile the man.

⁹ Afterward they shall deliver you your selves up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten, and ye shall be set before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.

²³ But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

³³ Take ye heed therefore, watch: for ye know not when the time [is].

⁸ But he said, See that ye be not deceived: for many will come in my name, saying, I am He, and the time draweth near: go ye not after them.

²¹ For if God spared not the natural branches, lest he also spare not thee.

¹² Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.

⁹ For they themselves shew of us, what manner of entring in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God,

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let [them] slip. ² For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; ³ How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard [him];

¹⁰ Wherefore I was grieved with this generation, and said, They do alway err in heart; and they have not known my ways.

³⁸ Now the just shall live by my faith: but if he draw back, my foul shall have no pleasure in him.

¹⁵ Looking diligently, that no one fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness spring up, with gall, and thereby many be defiled:

²⁵ Seethat ye refuse not him that speaketh to you: For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more we, if we turn away from him that is from the heavens:

²³ Who when he came also and had seen the grace of God, rejoiced, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue with the Lord.

¹¹ For sin taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

²² That ye put off concerning the former conversation, the old man, who is corrupt according to the deceitful lust:

¹¹ As you know, how we exhorted and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father his children,

¹⁸ Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.

¹¹ Wherefore comfort your selves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

² Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.

²⁴ And let us consider one another to provoke unto love, and to good works: ²⁵ Not forsaking the assembling of our selves together, as the manner of same [is]; but exhorting: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

¹⁴ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

³⁰ But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

¹ Wherefore, Holy Brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and high priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

⁴ For [it is] impossible for those who were once enlightned, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

¹⁰ For they verily for a few days chastned us, after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

¹³ But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

⁷ Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, ⁸ Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

²⁹ Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath troden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

⁴ But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to my self seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal. ⁵ Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

⁹ When your fathers tried [and] proved me in that trial, and saw my works forty years. ¹⁰ Wherefore I was grieved with this generation, and said, They do alway err in heart; and they have not known my ways.

¹ For, I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; ² And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud, and in the sea; ³ And did all eat the same spiritual meat; ⁴ And did all drink the same spiritual drink: For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. ⁵ But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. ⁶ Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil thing, as they also lusted. ⁷ Neither be ye idolaters, as [were] also some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. ⁸ Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell [Read [four and twenty thousand], from [Numb.] xxv. 9. and some [Greek] Copies.]three and twenty thousand. ⁹ Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. ¹⁰ Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. ¹¹ Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. ¹² Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall. ¹³ There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not leave you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

⁵ I will therefore put you in remembrance, who once knew all things, how that Jesus having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

¹¹ So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.

² For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with the faith of them that heard,

⁶ Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached, entered not in because of unbelief:

¹⁶ For he that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be condemned.

¹⁸ He that believeth on him shall not be judged: but he that believeth not, is judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.

³⁶ That he who believeth on the Son, may have eternal life: But he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

¹² That they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹⁰ He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the record in himself: he that believeth not the Son hath made himself a liar, because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
