Matthew 26:48-59

48 Now he that betrayed him, gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he, hold him fast. 49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail master; and kissed him. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they and laid hands on Jesus, and took him. 51 And behold one of them who were with Jesus, stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priests, and smote off his ear. 52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword, shall perish with the sword. 53 Or thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angel? 54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? 55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come as against a thief with swords and staves to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. 56 But all this hath been done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook im, and fled. 57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus, led [him] away to Caiphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. 58 But Peter followed him afar off, unto the high priests palace, and went in, and sat with the servants to see the end. 59 Now the chief priests, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus to put him to death.

Acts 5:1-3

1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back [part] of the price, the wife also being privy; and brought a certain part, and laid [it] at the apostles feet. 3 But Peter said unto Ananias, Why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and for thee to keep back [part] of the price of the land?

Romans 5:12-21

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entred in the world, and death by sin; and so it passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. 13 For until the law, sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come: 15 But not as the offence, so also [is] the free gift. For if through the offence of one, the many be dead; much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as [it was] by one sin, [so is] the gift: for the judgment [was] by one to condemnation: but the free gift [is] of many offences unto justification of life, 17 For if by one offence, death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace, and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore as by one offence [it came] upon all men to condemnation: even so by one righteousness [it came] upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners: so by the obedience of one man, shall many be made righteous. 20 Moreover, the law entered, that the offence might abound: But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:21-23

21 What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are now ashamed? for truly the end of those things [is] death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin [is] death: but the gift of God [is] eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Revelation 20:14-15
