¹ And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there. ² And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. ³ And when wine was wanting the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. ⁴ And Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what is that to me and thee? mine hour is not yet come. ⁵ His mother saith unto the servants; Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it]. ⁶ And there were set there six stone water pots, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three metretae a piece. ⁷ Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water-pots with water.  And they filled them up to the brim. ⁸ And Jesus saith unto them, Draw out now and bear unto the steward of the feast.  And they bear [it]. ⁹ When the steward of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the servants who drew the water knew, then steward of the feast called the bridegroom, ¹⁰ And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when they have well drunk, then that which is worse; But thou hast kept the good wine until now. ¹¹ This beginning of signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him. ¹² After this, he went down to Capharnaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples, and they continued there not many days. ¹³ And the Jews Passover was nigh, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, ¹⁴ And found in the temple those that sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the changers of money, sitting: ¹⁵ And when he had made, as it were a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep and the oxen; and poured out the changers of money, and over-threw the tables; ¹⁶ And said unto them that sold dove's, Take those things hence; And make not my Fathers house an house of merchandize. ¹⁷ And his disciples remembred that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. ¹⁸ The answered the Jews, and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, that thou dost these things? ¹⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I wilt raise it up. ²⁰ Then said the Jews, Forty and six years has this temple been built, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? ²¹ But he spake of the temple of his body. ²² When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembred that he had said this: and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said. ²³ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast, many believed on his name, when they saw the signs which be did. ²⁴ But Jesus did not commit himself unto then., because he knew all, ²⁵ And needed not that any should testifie of man: for he knew what was in man.

⁴⁶ But while he talked to the people, behold his mother and his brethren stood without, seeking to speak with him.

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world.

³⁵ Again, the next day, John stood, and two of his disciples:

⁴³ The day following, He would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip; and Jesus saith unto him, Follow me.

⁴⁶ So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. But there was a certain noble man, whose son was sick at Caphanaum.

² There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael, who was of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

³⁰ For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. ³¹ For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. ³² This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. ³³ Nevertheless, That every one of you in particular may love his wife even as himself; and that the wife reverence [the] husband.

¹ Now the Spirit speaketh expresly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, the doctrines of dæmons; ² Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with an hot iron; ³ Forbidding to marry, [commanding] to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them who believe and know his truth.

⁴ Let marriage be honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: for whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

⁴⁰ He that receiveth you, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. ⁴¹ He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophets reward. ⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink to one o the least of these, a cup of cold water, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, his reward shall not be lost.

¹⁹ He shall not strive, nor cry, neither shall any man hear his voice in the street.

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer, and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have not done it to one of the least of these, ye have not done it to me.

³⁴ The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a wine bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. ³⁵ But wisdom is justified of her children.

³⁷ And behold, a woman in the city, a sinner, when she knew that he was sat down in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, ³⁸ And stood behind him, at his feet weeping, and washed his feet with tears, and wiped [them] with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed [them] with the ointment.

⁴⁰ Now one of the two which heard John, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peters brother. ⁴¹ He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Mesias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. ⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonas: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is interpreted a Rock. ⁴³ The day following, He would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip; and Jesus saith unto him, Follow me. ⁴⁴ Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. ⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him of whom Moses did write in the law, and the prophets; Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Josephs. ⁴⁶ And Nathaniel said unto him, can any good thing be from Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, come and see. ⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathaniel coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile. ⁴⁸ Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and saith unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I law thee. ⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.

³⁹ The wife is bound as long as her husband liveth: but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

³¹ Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

¹⁷ Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

²⁸ For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

³ Therefore his sisters sent unto Jesus, saying, Lord, behold, he who thou lovest, is sick.

⁶ Be careful for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.

²⁹ And behold, they cryed out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

²⁸ Then he answered and said unto her, Woman, great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt: And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

⁴⁹ Jesus said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be in my Fathers house?

⁶ Jesus saith unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.

³⁰ Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hand on him, because his hour was not yet come.

²⁰ These words he spake in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no one seized on him, for his hour was not yet come.

²³ And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

¹ Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come, that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

²⁶ When Jesus therefore saw [his] mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold, they son. ²⁷ Then saith he to the disciple, Behold, thy mother. And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own [home].

¹³ And they say unto her, Woman, why Weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

¹⁵ Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? she supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou hast taken him away, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

¹⁶ Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more after the flesh.

⁵ We gave place by subjection, [no not] for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. ⁶ But of these, who seemed to be somewhat: whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me; God accepteth no man's person: for they who seemed [to be somewhat], in conference added nothing to me.

⁵ But Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will not disobey. ⁶ And when they had presently let down their nets, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes; insomuch that their nets brake.

⁴⁶ And why say ye to me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? ⁴⁷ Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: ⁴⁸ He is like a man who built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation upon a rock: but when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock, ⁴⁹ But he that heareth and doth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the ground, against which the stream did beat vehemently, and it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.

¹⁴ For ye are my friends, if ye shall do what I command you.

⁶ And he trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord [said] unto him. Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee there what thou must do.

⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

⁸ By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which be should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

² And when they knew some of his disciples did eat the loaves with common, that is to say with unwashen hands, they condemned [them]. ³ For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash hands often, eat not bread, holding the tradition of the elders. ⁴ And when they come from the market, except they wash they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to observe; the washing of cups and pots, brasen vessels, and of beds. ⁵ And the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with common hands?

²⁵ Now there arose a question between [some] of Johns disciples and the Jews, about purifying.

²⁶ That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water, by the word,

² Of the doctrine of baptisms; and of laying on of hands; of resurrection of the dead; and of eternal judgment.

¹⁰ [Being] only in meats, and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

¹⁹ For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water and scarlet wooll, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book and all the people,

²² Let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

² And said unto them, Go away into the village over against you, and as soon as ye be entred, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose, and bring him. ³ And if any one say unto you, Why do you loose the colt? say ye, that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he sends him again. ⁴ And they went away and found the colt tied by the door without, in a place where two ways met: and they loose him. ⁵ And some of them that stood there, said unto them, What do ye loosing the colt? ⁶ And they said, even as Jesus had said to them: and they let them go.

¹² And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, the disciples say unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare for thee, that thou mayest eat the passover? ¹³ And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, saying, Go ye into the city, and a man bearing a pitcher of water shall meet you: follow him. ¹⁴ And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the master of the house, The master saith, Where is my guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? ¹⁵ And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: and there make ready for us. ¹⁶ And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and did as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. ¹⁷ But in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

³ And when wine was wanting the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

⁵ His mother saith unto the servants; Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it].

²⁶ And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise and go toward the south, unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. ²⁷ And he arose and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace, a certain queen of the Ethiopians, who was her treasurer, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, ²⁸ Was returning and sitting in a chariot reading Esaias the prophet. ²⁹ Then the spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thy self to this chariot. ³⁰ And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? ³¹ And he said, How can I, except some one should guide me? and he desired Philip that he would come up, and sit with him. ³² The place of the scripture which he read, was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: ³³ In [his] humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. ³⁴ And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other. ³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same scripture and preached unto him Jesus. ³⁶ And as they went on the way, they came unto a certain water; and the Eunuch said, See water, what doth forbid me to be baptized? ³⁷ And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayst. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. ³⁸ And he commanded the chariot to stand: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. ³⁹ And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. ⁴⁰ But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Cesarea.

⁹ When the steward of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the servants who drew the water knew, then steward of the feast called the bridegroom,

⁷ Render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour.

¹⁷ If any one will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or I speak of my self.

²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is here comforted, and thou art pained.

¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and pitched his tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth by Jesus Christ.

⁵⁰ Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou wilt see a greater thing than these.

²³ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast, many believed on his name, when they saw the signs which be did.

² He came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God : for no one can do these miracles that thou dost except God were with him.

²³ That all should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, neither honoureth he the Father who hath sent him.

² But a great multitude followed him, because they saw the miracle which he did on them that were diseased.

¹⁴ Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that he did, said, This is that prophet that should come into the world.

²⁶ Jesus answered them and said, Verily verily I say unto you, Ye seek me; not because ye saw the signs and wonders, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

³⁰ They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what thou dost work?

¹⁵ And I am glad for your sakes, that I was not there that ye may believe: But let us go unto him.

³⁷ But though he had done so many miracles before them, they believed not on him:

⁴¹ But these things said Esaias, when he saw the glory of God there, and spake of him.

⁹ Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you; and yet hast thou not know me Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father; and how sayst thou, Shew us the Father? ¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I have spoken unto you, I spake not of my self: but the Father, that abideth in me, he doth his works. ¹¹ Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe for the very works sake,

¹³ And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

³⁰ Moreover many other signs did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. ³¹ But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that believing ye might have eternal life in his name.

¹⁸ But we all with open face, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord.

⁶ For God commanded the light to shine out of darkness, [and] hath shined in our hearts, to illuminate the knowledge of his glory, in the person of Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ For our light and short affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding eternal weight of glory;

¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in te book of the law to do them. ¹¹ But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [is] evident: For it is written, that The just shall live by faith. ¹² And the law is not of faith: but, He that doth them, shall live in them. ¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: It is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:

¹³ These things have I written unto you that ye may know that you who believe on the name of the Son of God have eternal life; and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

¹³ And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capharnaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:

²³ And thou, Capharnaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven, or shalt thou descend into Hades? for if the mighty works which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained unto this day.

⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenters son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and John, and Simon, and Judas? ⁵⁶ And his sisters, are they not all with us? whence then hath this man all these things?

³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were scandalized at him.

¹⁷ And entred into a ship, and went to the other side of the sea to Caphanaum, and darkness had already overtaken them, and Jesus was not come to them.

³ His bretheren therefore said unto him, Prepare hence, and go into Galilee (Read Judea), that thy disciples also may see the works that thou dost. ⁴ For no one doth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to have it known openly: If thou do these things, shew thy self to the world. ⁵ For neither did his brethren believe in him.

¹³ And when they were come in[,] they went up into the upper room, where abode both Peter, John, and James, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James [the son] of Alpheus, Simon Zelotes, and Judas [the] Son of James. ¹⁴ These all continued with one accord in prayer, with the women, and children, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brethren.

⁵ Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

¹⁹ But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

⁴¹ But his parents also went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

¹ After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

⁴ And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

⁵⁵ Now the Jews Passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country therefore up to Jerusalem, before the Passover, to purifie themselves.

¹² And Jesus went into the temple of God; and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves. ¹³ And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.

¹⁵ And they entred into Jerusalem: and when Jesus was in the temple he began to cast out thence those that sold and bought in the temple, and the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

¹⁷ And he taught, saying unto them, It is written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

⁴⁵ But he came into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought, and overthrew the tables of the money changers. ⁴⁶ Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

⁶ When therefore he had said unto them, I am [he], they went away backward, and fell to the ground.

⁴ For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

¹³ And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, My father worketh hitherto, and I work.

⁴⁹ Jesus answered, I have not a daemon; but I honour my Father, and ye dishonour me.

²⁹ My Father who gave [them] me, is greater than all: and none is able to pluck [them] out of my Fathers hand.

¹⁷ Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not: for I have not yet ascended to the Father: Go therefore to the brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

²⁴ For there was a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, who brought no small gain unto the craftsmen. ²⁵ He having called [them] together, with the workmen of like occupation, said unto them, Men and fellow craftsmen, ye know that by this art we have our livelyhood. ²⁶ Ye both hear and see, that not alone as far as Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia also, this Paul then persuaded and turned away a great multitude, saying, that these are no gods who are made with hands: ²⁷ So that not only this part of our trade is in danger to be under reproach, but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be set at nought, and destroyed, whom all Asia, and the world worshippeth.

⁵ Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and turning from the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:

³ And through covetousness will they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their destruction slumbreth not.

¹⁴ Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised in covetous practices: cursed children : ¹⁵ Who forsake the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor,who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

³⁸ Then certain of the Scribes and of the Pharisees answered him, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. ³⁹ But he answered and said to them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shalt no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet, Jonas. ⁴⁰ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly: so shall the Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. ⁴¹ The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonas, and behold, a greater than Jonas [is] here. ⁴² The queen of the south shall rise up in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost part of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.

¹ The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting, desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. ² But he answered and said, When it is evening, ye say, Fair weather: for the sky is red. ³ And in the morning Foul weather to day: for the heaven is red and lowering. Ye can discern the face of heaven, but can ye not the signs of the times? ⁴ A wicked generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

²³ And when he was come into temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority dost thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

¹¹ And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.

²⁷ And he cometh again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and elders of the people, ²⁸ And say unto him, By what authority dost thou these things? Who gave thee this authority to do these things? ²⁹ And when the multitudes were gathered thick together, he began to say, This generation is an evil generation: they seek a sign, and a sign shall not be given it, excepting the sign of Jonas.

¹ But it came to pass, that on one of the days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him, with the elders, ² And said unto him, Tell us, By what authority dost thou these things? and who is he that gave thee this authority?

²⁵ And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not the Christ, nor Elias, neither the prophet?

⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name have ye done this?

²⁸ Saying, Did not we straitly command you, that you should not teach in this name? Behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and will bring that man's blood upon us.

⁴⁰ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly: so shall the Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

⁶⁰ But found it not: yea, and when many false witnesses came they found it not. At the last came two false witnesses ⁶¹ And said we have heard this man say, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

⁴⁰ And saying, wo! Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest [it] in three days, save thy self if thou be the Son of God, and come down from the cross.

⁶³ Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, that after three days I will rise.

³¹ And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and of the chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

⁵⁸ We heard him say, I will destroy the temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will raise up another made without hands.

²⁹ And they that passed by, blasphemed him, wagging [their] heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days!

¹⁹ Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily verily, I say unto you, The Son of man cannot do any thing of himself, but what he seeth the father do; for what things soever he shall do, these also doth the Son likewise.

¹⁷ Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. ¹⁸ No man taketh it from me: I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of the Father.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;

²⁴ Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of Hades: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

³² This Jesus therefore hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

¹⁵ And killed the prince of life, whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

²⁶ Unto you first, God having raised up his Son, sent him forth to bless [you,] in turning away every one from your iniquities.

²⁴ But for us also to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,

⁴ Therefore we are buried with him by Baptism unto death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

¹¹ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwell in you; he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead, shall also quicken your mortal bodies, by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

³ For I delivered unto you first of all, that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures: ⁴ And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the scriptures:

¹² Now if Christ be preached that he is risen from the dead, how say some among you, that there is no resurrection of the dead?

¹² Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

¹⁸ For Christ also hath once died for sins for us, the just for the unjust; that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickned by the Spirit:

¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

¹⁹ What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

¹⁶ And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for we are the temple of the living God; for God saith, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

²⁰ And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone; ²¹ In whom all the building fitly framed together, groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: ²² In whom you also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

¹⁹ For in him all the fulness was pleased to dwell.

⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

² A minister of the sanctuary, of the true tabernacle which the Lord pitched, and not man.

⁴ To whom coming, a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, precious, ⁵ Ye also as lively stones, are built upon them a spiritual house, unto an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

⁷ That the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. ⁸ And they remembred his words,

⁴⁴ And he said unto them, These [were] my words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms concerning me.

¹¹ This beginning of signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

¹⁷ And his disciples remembred that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

¹⁶ These things his disciples minded not at the first: But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and they had done these things unto him.

²⁶ But the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, whom my Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I shall say unto you.

⁴ These things have I told you, that when the hour shall come, ye may remember them that I told you. And these things I said not unto you from the beginning, because I was with you.

⁸ Then went in therefore that other disciple who came first to the sepulchre, and he saw and believed not. ⁹ For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

¹⁶ And I remembred the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

²⁰ But he that received the seed in the rocky Places, the same is he that heareth the word, and presently with joy receiveth it: ²¹ Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, presently he is offended.

¹⁶ And there are they which are sown on stony ground, who when they shall hear the word, receive it with gladness: ¹⁷ And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward when affliction and persecution ariseth for the words sake, immediately they will be scandalized.

¹³ They on the rock, when they hear, receive the word with joy;these have no root, who for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

¹³ And the Jews Passover was nigh, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

³¹ And many of the multitude believed on him, and said, Christ when he cometh, will he do more miracles than this [man] hath done?

³⁰ As he spake these words, many believed on him. ³¹ Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed on him, If ye will continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed;

⁴² Nevertheless among the chief rulers also, many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue. ⁴³ For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

⁶ For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love:

¹⁶ That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might, by his Spirit in the inner man; ¹⁷ That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye being rooted and grounded in love,

¹⁹ Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the daemons also believe, and tremble. ²⁰ But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

⁴ And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Wherefore think ye evil in you hearts?

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. ¹⁷ Beware of men, for they will deliver you up to the sanhedrim, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.

⁸ And when Jesus perceived in [his] spirit, that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonas: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is interpreted a Rock.

⁴⁶ And Nathaniel said unto him, can any good thing be from Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, come and see. ⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathaniel coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile.

⁴² But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

¹⁵ When Jesus therefore perceived that they were about to come and take him by force, to make [him] king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone, and there prayed.

⁶⁴ But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that believed not, and who would betray him.

³⁰ Now we know that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any one should ask thee; by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

¹⁷ He saith unto him the third time, Simon [son] of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Lord, thou knowest all men; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

²⁴ And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, shew which one thou hast chosen out of these two.

¹³ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked, and opened unto the eyes of him of whom we speak.

²³ I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

⁶¹ When Jesus knew that his disciples murmured at it among themselves, he said unto them, Doth this scandalize you?

¹¹ For Jesus knew who should betray him.
