⁵ And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

¹⁵ And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of Silver. ¹⁶ And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him unto them.

³ Then Judas who had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders; ⁴ Saying, I have sinned, in that I have betrayed righteous blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that]. ⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departe, and went and hanged himself.

¹⁸ Now this man purchased a field with the reward of his iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

²⁰ But Peter said unto him, The money go to perdition with thee, because thou hast thought that the free gift of God may he purchased with money.

⁹ But they that will be rich, fall into temptation, and the snare of the devil, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

³ And through covetousness will they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their destruction slumbreth not.

¹⁵ Who forsake the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor,who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

¹¹ Woe unto them; for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
