¹¹ And Jesus stood before the governor; and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? and Jesus said unto him, Thou sayst.

² And Pilate asked him, Art thou the king of the Jews? And he answering saith unto him, Thou sayst it.

¹⁸ And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews.

³² Let Christ the king of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe him. And they that were crucified with him, reproached him.

³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest;and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father. ³³ And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

³⁸ Saying, Blessed [be] he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed be the King. Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. ³⁹ But some of the Pharisees from among the multitude, said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. ⁴⁰ But he answered and said unto them, I say unto you, that if these should hold their peace, the stones would cry out.

⁷⁰ But they all said, Art thou the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

³⁸ And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.

³³ Pilate therefore entered into the judgment-hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the king of the Jews? ³⁴ And Jesus answered, Sayst thou this thing of thy self, or did others tell it thee of me? ³⁵ Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation, and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: What hast thou done? ³⁶ Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not I be delivered to the Jews: but now my kingdom is not from hence. ³⁷ Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou therefore a king? Jesus answered, Thou sayst that I am a king. For this was I born, and for this came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice.

³ And said, Hail king of the Jews: and the struck him.

¹⁹ And Pilate wrote a title and put on the cross, And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. ²⁰ This title therefore read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, in Greek, in Latin. ²¹ The chief priests of the Jews said therefore to Pilate, Write not, The king of the Jews, but that he said, I am king of the Jews.

¹³ I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
