¹² But how think ye? if a man have an hundred Sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

¹¹ But he said unto them, What man is there among you, that shall have one sheep, and is shall fall into a pit on the sabbath, does he not lay hold on it, and lift [it] out?

²⁸ But what think you? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in the vineyard.

⁴² Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, Of David.

⁴ What man of you shall have an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not he leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and goeth away and seeketh that which is lost, until he find it? ⁵ And when he hath found [it,] he layeth [it] on his shoulders, rejoycing. ⁶ But when he cometh home, he calleth together [his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoyce with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost. ⁷ But I say unto you, that likewise joy is in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, who need no repentance.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. ¹² But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth; and the wolf seizeth and scattereth the sheep, ¹³ Because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. ¹⁴ I am the good shepherd, and know mine, and mine know me. ¹⁵ As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I give [my] life for the sheep. ¹⁶ But other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; and they will be one fold, one shepherd. ¹⁷ Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. ¹⁸ No man taketh it from me: I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of the Father. ¹⁹ There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. ²⁰ Many of them therefore said, He hath a daemon, and is mad; why hear ye him? ²¹ Others said, These are not the words of a daemoniack. Can a daemon open the eyes of the blind?

¹⁵ I speak to you as to wise men: judge ye what I say.

²⁵ For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
