¹ Then spake Jesus to the multitudes, and to his disciples, ² saying, The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses seat. ³ All therefore whatsoever they say to you observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. ⁴ For they bind heavy burdens, and grievous to be born, and lay on mens shoulders, but they themselves will not move them with their finger. ⁵ But all their works they do, for to be seen of men: For they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge their borders. ⁶ And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, ⁷ And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men Rabbi, Rabbi. ⁸ But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your master, and all ye are brethren. ⁹ And you shalt not call [any one] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father who is in the heavens. ¹⁰ Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master Christ. ¹¹ He that is greatest among you, shall be your servant. ¹² And whosoever shall exalt himself, shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself, shall be exalted. ¹³ But wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because ye shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to enter. ¹⁴ [OMITTED TEXT] ¹⁵ Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye compass sea and land, that ye may make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of Gehenna than your selves. ¹⁶ Wo unto you, ye blind guides, who say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debter. ¹⁷ Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold or the temple that hath sanctified the gold? ¹⁸ And whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing: but whosoever sweareth by he gold that is upon it, he is a debter. ¹⁹ Ye fools and blind: for whether [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? ²⁰ Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. ²¹ And whoso shall have sworn by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that hath dwelt therein. ²² And he that shall have sworn by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon. ²³ Wo unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. ²⁴ Ye blind guides, who strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. ²⁵ Wo unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. ²⁶ Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that within the cup, that the outside of it may be clean also. ²⁷ Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye are like unto whited sepulchres. The sepulchre appears beautiful outward, but is within full of dead mens bones, and of all uncleanness. ²⁸ Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisie and iniquity. ²⁹ Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, ³⁰ And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. ³¹ Wherefore ye be witnesses unto your selves, that ye are the children of them who have killed the prophets. ³² Ye have also filled up the measure of your fathers. ³³ Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the judgment of Gehenna? ³⁴ Therefore behold, I will send prophets, and wise men, and scribes; and [some] of them ye will kill and crucifie, and persecute from city to city: ³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the land, from the blood of righteous Abel, unto the blood of Zacharias, son of Barachias, whom ye have slain between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Verily I say unto you, all these things shall come upon this generation. ³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them who are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth [her] chickens under her wings, and ye would not! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. ³⁹ For I say unto you, that ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of God.

¹⁰ And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear and mind. ¹¹ Not all that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man: but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. ¹² Then came his disciples, and said unto him, knowest thou that the Pharisees were scandalized after they heard this saying? ¹³ But he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. ¹⁴ Let these that are blind alone: they be blind leaders. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. ¹⁵ Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. ¹⁶ And he said, Are ye also yet without understanding? ¹⁷ Do not ye understand, that whatsoever entreth in at the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? ¹⁸ But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and they defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witnesses, blasphemy. ²⁰ These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

¹⁴ And when he had called the multitude again unto him, he said unto them, Hear me every one of you, and mind.

³⁸ But he said unto them as he was teaching, Beware of the scribes, and publicans, who delight to go in long clothing, and to be saluted in the markets. ³⁹ And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost seats at feasts:

¹ But as many people encompassed him round about, insomuch that they crouded one upon another, he began to say unto the disciples, First of all beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisie.

⁵⁷ And [why] do ye not even of your selves judge what is right.

⁴⁵ And in the audience of all the peoples he said unto the disciples, ⁴⁶ Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief seats at feasts;

³⁸ But he said unto them as he was teaching, Beware of the scribes, and publicans, who delight to go in long clothing, and to be saluted in the markets.

² Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. ³ But he answered and said, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? ⁴ For God said, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. ⁵ But ye say, Whosoever shall say to father or mother, [It is] a gift by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me, ⁶ He shall not relieve his father or mother. Thus have ye made the word of God of none effect by your tradition. ⁷ Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesie of you, saying, ⁸ This people honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me. ⁹ But in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines commandments of men.

³⁰ But he came to the other, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, Sir; and went not.

²⁹ [Then Peter and the apostles answered and said,] We ought to obey God rather than men.

¹⁹ And art confident that thou thy self art a guide of the blind, a light of them who are in darkness, ²⁰ An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, who hast the form of knowledge, and of the truth in the law. ²¹ Thou therefore who teachest another, teachest thou not thy self? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? ²² Thou that sayst a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? ²³ Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? ²⁴ For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles, through you, as it is written.

¹ Be subject unto all souls that are in authority. For there is no power but of God: those that be, are ordained of God.

⁵ Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away:

¹⁶ They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

²⁸ Come unto me all that labour, and you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easie, and my burden is light.

²³ Wo unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

⁴⁶ And he said, Wo unto you also, lawyers: for ye burden men with burdens grievous to be born, and ye your selves touch them not with one of your fingers.

¹⁰ Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?

²⁸ For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no other burden than these necessary things;

¹³ For neither they themselves who are circumcised, keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

²⁴ Bat unto you I say, the rest in Thyatira, who have not this doctrine, who have not known the depths of satan, as they speak, I put upon you none other burden.

¹ Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father in the heavens. ² Therefore, when thou shalt do alms, thou shalt not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues, and in the streets, that they may be glorified of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. ³ But when thou dost alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doth: ⁴ That thine alms may be in secret: and thy father who seeth in scret, himself shall reward thee. ⁵ And when thou shalt pray, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites: for they love to stand, and to pray in the synagogues, and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. ⁶ But thou, when thou shalt pray, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret, shall reward thee. ⁷ But when ye pray, ye shall not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. ⁸ Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye open your mouth. ⁹ After this manner therefore pray ye; Our Father who art in the heavens, Hallowed be thy name. ¹⁰ Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done as in heaven, so on earth. ¹¹ Give us this day the bread necessary for our sustenance. ¹² And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debters. ¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ¹⁴ For, if ye shall forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But if ye shall not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. ¹⁶ Moreover, when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

²⁰ And behold, a woman who had a bloody flux twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Ye are they who justifie your selves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is high amongst men, [is] abomination in the sight of God.

⁴⁷ Devouring widows houses, for a shew making long prayers: the same shall receive greater judgement.

⁴⁴ How can ye believe, who receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that is from God only?

¹⁸ He that speaketh of himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, he is true, and unrighteousness is not in him.

⁴³ For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

¹⁵ Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will.

³ [Do] nothing through strife, or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. ⁴ Who opposeth and exateth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

²¹ And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Give order that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left in th kingdom.

⁴³ Wo unto you, O ye Pharisees: for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets: and the highest places at feasts. ⁴⁴ Wo unto you, O ye scribes and Pharisees; for ye are graves which appear not, and the men that walk over [them,] know it not. ⁴⁵ But one of the lawyers, answered and said, unto him, Master, thus saying, thou reproachest us also. ⁴⁶ And he said, Wo unto you also, lawyers: for ye burden men with burdens grievous to be born, and ye your selves touch them not with one of your fingers. ⁴⁷ Wo unto you: for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ Bear ye therefore witness that ye do not allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, but ye build [their sepulchres.] ⁴⁹ Therefore I send them prophets and apostles, and [some] of them they will slay and persecute: ⁵⁰ That the blood of all the prophets, which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, unto this generation may be required; ⁵¹ From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, the Son of Barachias whom they slew between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation. ⁵² Wo unto you lawyers: for ye have hidden the key of knowledge: and ye entred not in your selves, and them that were entring in, ye hindred. ⁵³ And as [he] said these things unto them, before all the people, the Pharisees and lawyers began to urge [him] vehemently, and to confer with him about many things: ⁵⁴ Seeking to obtain some occasion against him, that they might have wherewith to accuse him.

⁷ But he spake also a parable to those who were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief seats, saying unto them, ⁸ When thou shall be invited to a wedding, sit not down in the highest seat, lest one more honourable than thou come; ⁹ And he that invited thee and him, come and [say] to thee, Give this man place; and thou with shame take the lowest place. ¹⁰ But when thou shall be invited sit down in the lowest place; that when he that inviteth thee shall come, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: And then shalt thou have respect in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. ¹¹ For whosoever exalteth himself, shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

¹⁰ Be kindly affectioned one to another; with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.

¹ My brethren, have not the faith of Jesus Christ our Lord of glory, with respect of persons. ² For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; ³ And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under the footstool of my feet[.] ⁴ Are ye not then partial in your selves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

⁹ I wrote somewhat unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the pre-eminence among them, receiveth us not.

⁸ But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your master, and all ye are brethren.

⁵ And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and wilt thou that I make thee three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias?

⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, O Lord, Rabbi, that I might receive my sight.

³⁸ Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith onto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, which is to say, being interpreted, Master, where dwellest thou?

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.

² He came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God : for no one can do these miracles that thou dost except God were with him.

²⁶ And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou bearest witness, behold, He baptizeth, and all come to him.

²⁵ And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou higher?

¹⁶ Jesus saith unto her, Mary. But She turned her self, and saith unto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Lord, Master.

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as the master, and the servant as his lord: if they shall call the master of the House Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?

⁵ While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud over-shadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

¹³ Ye call me Master, and Lord: and ye say well; for I am. ¹⁴ If I then [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet, how much more should ye do it:

⁹ For to this end Christ both lived, and died, and rose again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. ¹⁰ But why dost thou judge thy brother in not eating, or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of God.

¹² Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ. ¹³ Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized unto the name of Paul?

³ For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? ⁴ For while one saith, I am of Paul, and another, I [am] of Apollos, are ye not carnal men? ⁵ Who then is Apollos, and who [is] Paul? Ministers by whom ye believed; even as the Lord gave to every man.

²⁴ Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

⁵ For we preach not our selves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and our selves your servants for Jesus sake.

¹⁵ Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

¹ Paul as apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy [our] brother, ² To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ Jesus, who are at Colosse: Grace [be] unto you, and peace from God our Father.

¹ My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation,

³ Neither as being lords over the clergy; but being ensamples to the flock.

⁹ I John, who am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience in Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, [for] the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him: And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not; I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

⁹ Then saith he unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them who observe the words of this book: worship God.

⁸ Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye open your mouth. ⁹ After this manner therefore pray ye; Our Father who art in the heavens, Hallowed be thy name.

³² For, after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

¹¹ If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

¹ Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye the defence which I make now unto you.

¹⁴ For as many are led by the Spirit of God, they are the Sons of God. ¹⁵ For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ Wherefore the Spirit it self beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. ¹⁷ And if children, then fellow heirs; heirs of God, and fellow heirs with Christ: if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.

¹⁵ For though you have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

¹⁸ And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

¹ Rebuke not an elder, but intreat [him] as a father, the younger men as brethren; ² the elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, with all purity.

⁹ Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh, who corrected us, and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

¹ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called and we are the Sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not,

²⁶ It is not so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister. ²⁷ And whosoever will be chief among you, shall be your servant.

⁴³ But so it is not among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: ⁴⁴ And whosoever of you will be the chief, shall be your servant.

²⁶ But ye [shall] not [be] so; but he that is greatest among you let him be as the least;and the servant more than he who sitteth down. ²⁷ For I am come in the midst of you, not as he who sitteth down, but, as he that serveth.

¹⁴ If I then [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet, how much more should ye do it: ¹⁵ For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

¹⁹ For though I be free from all men, yet have I made my self servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? I speak as a fool, I [am] more: in labours more abundant, in prisons more frequent, in stripes above measure, in deaths oft.

¹³ For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion of the flesh, but by love of the Spirit serve one another.

⁵ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: ⁶ Who being in the form of [a] God, did not take upon him to be equal to a God: ⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

³ Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

⁴ Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the Kingdom of the heavens.

⁵¹ He hath shewed strength with his arm, he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. ⁵² He hath put down the mighty from [their] seats, and exalted them of low degree.

¹¹ For whosoever exalteth himself, shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down justified [rather] than that Pharisee: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

⁶ But he giveth more grace: wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

⁵ Likewise ye younger, submit your selves unto the elder: yea, and all one with another, be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

³¹ Whether of them two did the will of his father? They say, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, that the publicans and harlots go ito the kingdom of God before you. ³² For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him. And ye when ye had seen [it], repented [not] afterward, that ye might believe him.

Behold the scriptures: for out of Galilee hath arisen no prophet.

²² These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any one should confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

²⁴ They called again him that was blind, a second time, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

³⁴ They answered him, and said, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? An they cast him out.

¹⁷ [But] that it spread no further among the people, we will therefore threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. ¹⁸ And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach in the name of Jesus.

²⁸ Saying, Did not we straitly command you, that you should not teach in this name? Behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and will bring that man's blood upon us.

⁴⁰ And to him they submitted: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten [them,] they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

¹ And at that time there was a great persecution and affliction upon the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles, who tarried at Jerusalem.

⁸ But Hetoimas the sorcerer, for so is his name by interpretation, withstood them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith, because he very willingly heard them.

¹⁵ Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us; and please not God, and are contrary to all men: ¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles, that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the uttermost.

⁸ Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

¹⁵ Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

²⁴ Moreover I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, in the day of judgment, than for you.

³³ Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the judgment of Gehenna? ³⁴ Therefore behold, I will send prophets, and wise men, and scribes; and [some] of them ye will kill and crucifie, and persecute from city to city: ³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the land, from the blood of righteous Abel, unto the blood of Zacharias, son of Barachias, whom ye have slain between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Verily I say unto you, all these things shall come upon this generation.

⁴⁰ They devour widows houses, and on the pretence of orphans make long prayers: these shall receive far greater judgement.

⁴⁸ But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. To whom much is given they will require the more from him; and to whom they have committed much, of him they will require the more.

⁴⁷ Devouring widows houses, for a shew making long prayers: the same shall receive greater judgement.

⁶ For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

¹⁰ For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, but especially they of the circumcision: ¹¹ Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

³ And through covetousness will they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their destruction slumbreth not.

¹⁴ Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised in covetous practices: cursed children : ¹⁵ Who forsake the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor,who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

²² But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause, shall be lyable to the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be lyable to the sanhedrim: but whosoever shalt say, Thou fool, shall be lyable to gehenna of fire.

²⁹ And if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for [it] is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should go away into Gehenna.

⁴⁴ Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he was a murderer of men from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁰ Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt also, and in the parts of Libya, about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

⁵ And this saying pleased the whole multitude of the disciples; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith, and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch.

¹⁰ And said, O full of all subtilty and all knavery, thou son of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the ways of the Lord which are right?

⁴³ Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews, and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. But it came to pass that the word of God went through all the city,

² But the heads of the Jews and the rulers of the synagogue brought on a persecution against the righteous, and made the minds of the Gentiles evil affected against the brethren: but the Lord gave them peace quickly.

¹⁹ But while they stayed and taught, there came upon them certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who stirred up the people, and having stoned Paul, drew [him] out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

⁵ But the Jews who believed not, moved with envy, gathered together wicked [fellows] of the baser sort, and getting the multitude together, they set the city on an uprore, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. ⁶ And when they found them not, they drew Jason, and certain brethren, unto the rulers of the city, crying and saying, These that have subverted the world, are come hither also;

¹³ But when the Jews of Thessalonica knew that the word of God was preached, and believed, at Berea, they came thither also, and did not leave off stirring up and disturbing the multitude there.

¹⁷ They zealously affect you, not well; yea, they would exclude you, that you might affect them: But be zealous for the better gifts.

¹² As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

³ Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh, and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

³³ Again, ye have heard that it hath been said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shall perform unto the Lord thine Oaths. ³⁴ But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is Gods throne: ³⁵ Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

⁵ But ye say, Whosoever shall say to father or mother, [It is] a gift by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me, ⁶ He shall not relieve his father or mother. Thus have ye made the word of God of none effect by your tradition.

¹⁴ Let these that are blind alone: they be blind leaders. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

¹⁷ Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?

¹⁹ Ye fools and blind: for whether [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

²⁴ Ye blind guides, who strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

²⁶ Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that within the cup, that the outside of it may be clean also.

¹⁰ For Moses said Honour thy father and mother: and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death. ¹¹ But ye say, If a man shall say to his father, or mother, [It is] Corban, that is, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightst be profited by me; ¹² Ye suffer him not to do ought for his father or mother: ¹³ Making the word of God of none effect through your foolish tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world: that they who see not, might see; and that they who see, might be made blind. ⁴⁰ But some of the Pharisees who were with him heard, and said unto him, Are we blind also? ⁴¹ Jesus therefore said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see: therefore your sins remain.

³ For I testify to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debter to do the whole law.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yes be yes, and [your] no, no; lest ye fall under judgment.

²² In whom you also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

³⁴ But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is Gods throne:

⁴⁹ Heaven is my throne, and earth my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or of what kind is the place of my rest?

² Immediately I was in the spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and[one sat on] the throne. ³ And he that sat[was] to look upon like a jasper, and a sardine stone: and a rainbow was round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

¹⁹ Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: ²⁰ For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed that of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall by no means enter into the kingdom of heaven.

¹³ But go ye and learn what that is, I will, have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

⁷ But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

³⁷ Jesus saith unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second [is] like unto this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self. ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

⁴² But wo unto you, Pharisees: for ye tithe mint and rue, and every herb, and pass over judgment, and the love of God.

¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I posses.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, temperance, chastity: against such there is no law.

⁴ Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and behold a beam is in thine own eye?

² Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. ³ But he answered and said, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? ⁴ For God said, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

²⁴ And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

¹⁶ Wo unto you, ye blind guides, who say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debter.

⁶ And the chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. ⁷ And they took counsel and bought the potters field, to bury strangers in: ⁸ Wherefore that field was called, Echeldemach that is The field of blood unto this day.

⁷ The scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal, that they might find to accuse him. ⁸ But he knowing their thoughts, saith to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand in the midst. And he arose, and stood up. ⁹ But Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do evil?to save life, or to destroy [it]?But they held their peace. ¹⁰ And looking round about upon them all, in anger, he saith unto the man, stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth; and his hand was restored whole as the other also. And he said unto them, that the son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

²⁸ They led therefore Jesus from Caiphas, unto the hall of judgment: and it was early, and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled: but might eat the passover.

⁴⁰ Again therefore they cried out, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

⁴ And when they come from the market, except they wash they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to observe; the washing of cups and pots, brasen vessels, and of beds. ⁵ And the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with common hands? ⁶ He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites; And he said, This people loveth me with [their] lips, but their heart hath departed far from me. ⁷ But in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines, the commandments of men: ⁸ As the washing of pots and cups: and many other things ye do that are like [them]; leaving the command of God; ye hold the tradition of men. ⁹ And he said unto them, Well do ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may confirm your own tradition!

³⁹ But the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees Hypocrites make clean the outside of the cup and the platter: but your inside is full of ravening and wickedness. ⁴⁰ Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without, make that which is within also?

³³ Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by the fruit.

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth good: An evil man bringeth forth evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh,

¹ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse our selves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

²² Let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

⁸ Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you: cleanse the hands, ye sinners, and purify the hearts, ye double-minded.

⁴⁴ Wo unto you, O ye scribes and Pharisees; for ye are graves which appear not, and the men that walk over [them,] know it not.

³ Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou and judgest me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

³⁴ O generations of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh good things. ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure, bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure, bringeth forth evil things.

⁵ But all their works they do, for to be seen of men: For they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge their borders.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of man proceed evil reasonings, fornications, thefts, adulteries, murder, ²² Covetousness, deceit, wickedness, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemies, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these wicked things come from within, and defile the man.

¹² For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart: ¹³ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked, and opened unto the eyes of him of whom we speak.

⁴⁷ Wo unto you: for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ Bear ye therefore witness that ye do not allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, but ye build [their sepulchres.]

²⁹ Men, brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us until this day:

³⁵ And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ³⁶ Again therefore, he sent other servants, more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

³⁴ Therefore behold, I will send prophets, and wise men, and scribes; and [some] of them ye will kill and crucifie, and persecute from city to city: ³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the land, from the blood of righteous Abel, unto the blood of Zacharias, son of Barachias, whom ye have slain between the temple and the altar.

²² But he said unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man; I take up that I laid not down, and I reap that I did not sow:

⁵¹ Ye stiff necked, and uncircumcised in hearts and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as did also your fathers, so [do] ye. ⁵² Which of the prophets have not they persecuted? and they have slain those who shewed before of the coming of the just one, of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles, that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the uttermost.

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

³⁴ O generations of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh good things.

³⁴ And when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. ³⁵ And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

⁷ But he said to the multitude that came forth to be baptized before him, ye brood of vipers, who hath [s]hewed you to flee from the wrath to come?

³ But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and purity that is in Christ.

³ How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard [him];

²⁹ Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath troden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

²⁵ Seethat ye refuse not him that speaketh to you: For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more we, if we turn away from him that is from the heavens:

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil and Satan, who deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. ¹⁷ Beware of men, for they will deliver you up to the sanhedrim, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.

²³ But when they shall persecute you in this city, flee ye unto another: and if they persecute you in the other, flee ye unto another: Verily I say unto you, ye shall not finish the cities of Israel till the Son of man come.

⁵² He saith unto them, Therefore every scribe who is instructed in the kingdom of the heavens, is like unto a man that is an householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

¹⁹ Go ye now and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them unto the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: ²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the age.

⁴⁹ Therefore I send them prophets and apostles, and [some] of them they will slay and persecute: ⁵⁰ That the blood of all the prophets, which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, unto this generation may be required; ⁵¹ From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, the Son of Barachias whom they slew between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.

⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name, as far as all nations;beginning at Jerusalem.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues: But the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doth God service.

²¹ He therefore said to them again, Peace be unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

⁸ But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

⁵⁸ And cast [him] out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a certain young mans feet, called Saul. ⁵⁹ And they stoned Stephen, invocating and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

¹ And Saul yet breathing out threatnings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, ² And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he should find any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

²⁷ And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. But there was great rejoicing.

² And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

¹ Now there were in the the church that was at Antioch, prophets and teachers; among whom was Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, who had been brought up with Herod also the tetrarch, and Saul.

³² And Judas and Silas being prophets also themselves, full of the Holy Spirit: comforted the brethren with many words, and confirmed [them.]

¹⁹ And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned, and beat in the synagogues them that believed on thee. ²⁰ And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I was standing by, and consenting, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

⁶ Howbeit we speak wisdom in perfect things: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought.

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I laid the foundation; another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereon.

³ Wherefore I give you to understand, that no one, by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed; and no one can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. ⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all. ⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit, is given to every man to profit withal. ⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; ⁹ To another faith by the same Spirit: to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another the interpretation of tongues; to another kinds of tongues; ¹¹ But all these worketh that one and the self same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

²⁴ Of the Jews five times received I forty [stripes] save one. ²⁵ Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck; a night and a day I have been in the deep:

⁸ Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led a captivity captive, [and] gave gifts unto men. ⁹ Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended, is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. ¹¹ And he hath given some, apostles: and some, prophets: and some, evangelists: and some, pastors and teachers; ¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching them in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ.

³⁷ They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheep-skins, and goat-skins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented:

¹⁰ And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.

⁵¹ From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, the Son of Barachias whom they slew between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.

⁴ By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness, that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead, yet speaketh.

²⁴ And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than Abel.

¹¹ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. ¹² Not as Cain was of that wicked one, and slew his brother: And wherefore slew he him? Because his own Works were evil, and his brothers righteous.

²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

³⁴ Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

³⁰ Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. ³¹ Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

³² Verily I say unto you, that This generation shall by no means pass away, till all these things be done. ³³ Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

¹² Rejoyce, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.

³ And sent forth his servants, to call them that were invited to the marriage feast, and they would not come.

⁶ And the remnant took his servants, and treated [them] injuriously, and slew [them].

³⁰ And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

³ And they caught [him], and beat him, and sent [him] away empty to him. ⁴ And again he sent unto them another servant; and they beheaded him, and exposed him to contempt, ⁵ And he sent another servant; and him they killed: and many others, beating some, but killing others. ⁶ Having yet therefore one son, the well-beloved, he sent him also last of all, saying, They will reverence my son.

³⁴ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto it, how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen her brood under [her] wings, and ye would not? ³⁵ Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: But I say unto you, Ye shall by no means see me, until the time shall come when ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

¹⁷ And sent his servant at the hour of supper to say to them that were invited, to come, for all things were now ready. ¹⁸ And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said, I have bought a field, and I must needs go and see it: wherefore I cannot come. ¹⁹ And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: Wherefore I cannot come. ²⁰ And another said, I have married a wife: wherefore I cannot come.

²⁸ And he was angry, and would not go in: But his father came out, and began to intreat him.

¹⁴ But the citizens hated [him,] and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. ¹⁵ And it came to pass, that as he returned, having received the kingdom, he commanded his servants to be called, to whom he had given the money, that he might know what every man had gained by trading. ¹⁶ Now the first came saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. ¹⁷ And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant; because thou hast been faithful in a very little, Have thou authority over ten cities. ¹⁸ Another came and said, Lord, thy pound hath made five pounds. ¹⁹ And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. ²⁰ And another came saying, Lord, behold, thy pound, which I have kept laid up in an handkerchief. ²¹ For I feared thee; For thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou laidst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. ²² But he said unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man; I take up that I laid not down, and I reap that I did not sow: ²³ Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? ²⁴ But he said unto them that stood by, Take [it] from him and carry [it] to him that hath ten pounds. ²⁵ -- ²⁶ For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath, is added! and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. ²⁷ But these mine enemies which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. And cast ye the unprofitable servant unto the outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ²⁸ And when he had thus spoken, he went, ascending to Jerusalem. ²⁹ And it came to pass when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called [the mount] of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, ³⁰ Saying, go ye into the village over against [you], and entring ye shall find a colt, whereon never man had sat: and loosing him, bring [him] hither, ³¹ And if any man ask you, thus shall ye say, Because the Lord hath need of him. ³² And they that were sent, went away. ³³ -- ³⁴ They answered, that The Lord had need of him. ³⁵ And they brought the colt to Jesus: and cast their garments upon him, and they set Jesus [upon him.] ³⁶ And as they went, they spread their clothes. ³⁷ And when they were come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoyce and praise God, for all the things that they had seen done. ³⁸ Saying, Blessed [be] he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed be the King. Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. ³⁹ But some of the Pharisees from among the multitude, said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. ⁴⁰ But he answered and said unto them, I say unto you, that if these should hold their peace, the stones would cry out. ⁴¹ And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, ⁴² Saying, If thou also hadst known in this day, what things concern thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. ⁴³ For the days will come upon thee, that thine enemies will cast a trench, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, ⁴⁴ And will level thee even with the ground, and thy children; and they will not leave stone upon stone in this whole [city,] because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

¹¹ And He sent another servant; and they beat him also, and treated [him] shamefully, and sent [him] away empty. ¹² And He sent a third; They wounded him also, and cast [him] out. ¹³ But the Lord of the vineyard, said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him. ¹⁴ But when they saw him, they reasoned one with another, saying, This is the heir: come let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

¹⁵ Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us; and please not God, and are contrary to all men:

⁷ And when they shall be near finishing their testimony, the fourth wild beast that ascendeth out of the abysse shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. ⁸ And their deadbody[shall be] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

² And he answered and said unto them, See ye all these things? verily I say unto you, that ther shall not be left here stone upon stone, that shall not be utterly thrown down.

¹⁴ But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, standing where it ought not, let him that readeth, mind what he readeth, then let them that be in Judea, flee to the mountains.

³⁵ Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: But I say unto you, Ye shall by no means see me, until the time shall come when ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

⁶ Ye see these things; the days will come, in the which there shall not be left stone upon stone in the wall here, that shall not be thrown down.

²⁰ And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then ye will know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword; and shall be led away captive unto all nations; and Jerusalem shall be troden down of the Gentiles; until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

¹³ And set up false witnesses against him, who said, This Man ceaseth not to speak words against the holy place, and the law. ¹⁴ For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered us.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the son of David: blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.

²⁶ And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death before he should see the Lords Christ. ²⁷ And he came in the spirit unto the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, that they might do concerning him, after the custom of the law, ²⁸ Then he took him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, ²⁹ Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. ³⁰ For mine eyes have seen thy salvation:

²² All things are delivered to me of the Father; and, and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is,but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal [him.] ²³ But he turned him unto the disciples, and said unto them, Blessed [are] the eyes which see what ye see, and the ears that hear things that ye hear.

²² He said therefore unto the disciples, The days will come when ye shall desire one of these days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

²¹ Then said he again unto them, I go away and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go ye cannot come.

²⁴ I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your Sins: for if ye believe not me that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham rejoyced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad.

⁹ Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you; and yet hast thou not know me Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father; and how sayst thou, Shew us the Father?

¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more: but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

²⁵ For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery (lest ye should be wise in your own conceits) that blindness in part is hapned to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

¹⁴ But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away, in the reading of the old testament; which is done away in Christ. ¹⁵ But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart, ¹⁶ Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. ¹⁷ Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord [is, is] liberty. ¹⁸ But we all with open face, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord.
