¹ If [there be] therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies; ² Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be unanimous, having the same love, of one accord, of one mind. ³ [Do] nothing through strife, or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. ⁴ Looking, not every man on his own things, but evey man on the things of others. ⁵ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: ⁶ Who being in the form of [a] God, did not take upon him to be equal to a God: ⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. ⁹ Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth; ¹¹ And that every tongue should confess, that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ¹² Wherefore my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. ¹³ For it is God who worketh in you, both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure. ¹⁴ Do all things without murmurings and disputings: ¹⁵ That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom shine ye as lights in the world; ¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. ¹⁷ Yea, and if my blood be poured out upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. ¹⁸ For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me. ¹⁹ But I trust in Christ Jesus, to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. ²⁰ For I have no man like-minded, who will naturally care for your state. ²¹ For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. ²² But ye know the proof of him, that as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the Gospel. ²³ Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me. ²⁴ But I trust in the Lord, that I also myself shall come shortly. ²⁵ Yet I supposed it necessary, so send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and fellow-soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. ²⁶ For he longed to see you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. ²⁷ For indeed he was sick nigh unto death but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. ²⁸ I have sent him therefore the more carefully, that when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. ²⁹ Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such in reputation: ³⁰ Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, exposing his life to danger to supply your lack of service toward me.

¹⁰ And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, and it shall be to all people. ¹¹ For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, Who is Christ the Lord.

²⁵ And there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name [was] Symeon;and this man [was] just and devout, expecting the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans: I come to you.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

¹⁰ If ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I also have kept my Fathers commandments, and abide in his love. ¹¹ But these things have I spoken unto you, that my joy in you might remain, and your joy might be full. ¹² This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

²² And ye now therefore shall have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one taketh from you. ²³ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing: Verily, verily I say unto you, If ye shall ask the Father any thing in my name, he will give [it] you. ²⁴ Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

¹³ And now come I to thee, and these things I speak in this world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

⁴⁶ And they all continued in the temple, and from house to house, and breaking bread, partook of meat with gladness and singleness of heart.

³² And the multitude of them that believed, were of one heart, and of one soul: neither was there any difference among them: neither said any that ought of the things which he possessed, was his own, but they had all things common.

¹ Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. ² By whom also we have access into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

⁵ And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now is any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. ¹⁰ And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead, because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life, because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwell in you; he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead, shall also quicken your mortal bodies, by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. ¹² Therefore, brethren, we are debters, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. ¹³ For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but is ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the flesh, ye shall live. ¹⁴ For as many are led by the Spirit of God, they are the Sons of God. ¹⁵ For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ Wherefore the Spirit it self beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

²⁶ Likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession, with groanings which cannot be uttered.

¹² And again Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace; that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.

¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

¹⁹ What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

¹³ For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

³¹ I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ, I die daily.

⁵ For as the suffering of Christ abounds in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. ⁶ And whether we be afflicted, [it is] for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: and our hope is stedfast on your account: or whether we be comforted, [it is] for your consolation and salvation;

¹⁴ Now thanks [be] unto God, who always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the favour of his knowledge by us in every place.

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, [be] with you all. Amen.

⁶ And because ye are ons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

¹³ In whom ye also did so, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ Who is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

¹⁸ For through him we both have an access by one Spirit unto the Father. ¹⁹ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the houshold of God; ²⁰ And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone; ²¹ In whom all the building fitly framed together, groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: ²² In whom you also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

⁴ One body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

³⁰ And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. ³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking be put away from you, with all malice. ³² Be ye therefore kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us.

⁸ For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all, in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

³ For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:

² That their hearts might be comforted, they being knit together in love, unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

¹² Put on therefore as the elect of God holy and beloved bowels of mercies, also kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God the Father, who hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting consolation, and good hope through grace, ¹⁷ Comfort your hearts, and stablish [them] in every good work and word.

¹⁸ That with two immutable things, in which [it was] impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

² Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.

⁶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations. ⁷ That the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might befound unto praise, and honour, and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: ⁸ Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable, and full of glory:

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, unto unfeigned love of the brethren; love one another with the heart fervently: ²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth.

²⁴ And he that keepeth his commandments, dwelleth in him, and he in him: and hereby we know that he abideth in us,by the spirit which he hath given us.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth God, is born of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love.

¹² No one hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

¹⁶ And we have known and believe the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him.

²⁹ He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoyceth greatly because of the bridegrooms voice, this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

¹⁴ These all continued with one accord in prayer, with the women, and children, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brethren.

¹ And it came to pass in those days, that the day of Pentecost was fully come, [and] they were all in one place.

¹² And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in the temple, in Solomon's cloister.

¹⁶ [Be] of the same mind one towards another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits,

⁵ Now the God of patience and consolation, grant you to be unanimous one towards another, according to Christ Jesus: ⁶ That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you; but ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment.

³ And I wrote this same thing onto you, lest when I came I should have sorrow upon sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is that of you all.

⁷ And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

¹¹ Finally, brethren, farewell: be perfect, be of good comfort, be unanimous, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

⁴ Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy;

²⁶ That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me, by my coming to you again. ²⁷ Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel;

¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

²⁰ For I have no man like-minded, who will naturally care for your state.

¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. ¹⁶ Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us be unanimous: let us walk by the same [rule].

² I beseech Euodia, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

⁵ For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

¹⁹ For what [is] our hope, or joy, or cron of rejoicing? [are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus, at his coming? ²⁰ For ye are our glory and joy.

⁶ But now when that Timothy is come from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also you: ⁷ Therefore, brethren, we are comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: ⁸ For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we rejoiced for your sakes before our God, ¹⁰ Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren, beloved of God; because God hath from the beginning chosen us to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth:

⁴ Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy:

²⁰ Yea, Brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

⁸ Finally, [be ye] all unanimous, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, pitiful, humble: ⁹ Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise, blessing; because ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

³ That which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. ⁴ And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

⁴ I rejoiced greatly, that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

⁷ But he spake also a parable to those who were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief seats, saying unto them, ⁸ When thou shall be invited to a wedding, sit not down in the highest seat, lest one more honourable than thou come; ⁹ And he that invited thee and him, come and [say] to thee, Give this man place; and thou with shame take the lowest place. ¹⁰ But when thou shall be invited sit down in the lowest place; that when he that inviteth thee shall come, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: And then shalt thou have respect in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. ¹¹ For whosoever exalteth himself, shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down justified [rather] than that Pharisee: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

¹⁰ Be kindly affectioned one to another; with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.

¹³ Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying

³ For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

²⁰ For I fear lest when I come I shall not find you such as I would, and I shall be found unto you such as ye would not:lest [there be] debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

¹⁵ But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hared, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁶ Let us not be desirous of vainglory, provoking one another, envying one another.

² With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love;

²¹ Submitting your selves one to another in the fear of Christ Jesus.

¹⁵ Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will. ¹⁶ But one preach [Christ] of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. ¹⁷ The other preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds;

¹⁴ Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

⁸ But now you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

⁴ He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof are begotten envyings, strifes, railings, evil surmisings,

¹⁴ But if then ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish. ¹⁶ For where envying and strife [is], there [is] also confusion, and every evil work.

⁵ Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? ⁶ But he giveth more grace: wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

¹ Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and evil-speakings, ² As newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation:

⁵ Likewise ye younger, submit your selves unto the elder: yea, and all one with another, be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

⁶ But whoso shall afford scandal to one of these little ones who believe in me, it were better for him that a milstone were hanged about his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

¹⁵ Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

¹⁹ Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and observe the things wherewith one may edify another ²⁰ For meat destroy not the work of God. All thing indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil for that man who eateth with offence. ²¹ [It is] good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine nor that whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is scandalized, or is made weak. ²² Hast thou faith? have it to thy self before God. Happy [is] he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

¹ We then that are strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please our selves.

⁹ But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak. ¹⁰ For if any man see thee who hast knowledge sit at meat in the idols temple, shall not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols? ¹¹ And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? ¹² But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. ¹³ Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

²⁴ Let no man seek his own: but another's advantage.

³² Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: ³³ Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but that of many, that they may be saved.

²² Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary. ²³ And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour, and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness. ²⁴ For our comely [parts] have no need of honour, but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that which lacked: ²⁵ That there should be no schisms in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another. ²⁶ And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it: or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

⁴ Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not it self, is not puffed up, ⁵ Doth not behave it self unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil,

³ Giving no offence in any thing, that our ministry be not blamed:

²⁹ Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?

⁸ If ye fulfil the royal law, according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self, ye do well.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

²⁶ It is not so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister. ²⁷ And whosoever will be chief among you, shall be your servant. ²⁸ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. But do you seek to increase from a little, and to be diminished from what is greater. However, when you are come and are desired to sup, do not you sit in the most eminent places, lest more honourable than thou come, and he that invited thee to supper come upon thee and say to thee, Go down still lower; and thou be put to confusion. But if thou sittest in a lower place, and one inferior to thee comes, he that invited thee will say to thee, Go and sit higher. For this will be to thy advantage.

²⁷ For I am come in the midst of you, not as he who sitteth down, but, as he that serveth.

¹⁴ If I then [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet, how much more should ye do it: ¹⁵ For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

³⁸ Jesus of Nazareth; whom God anointed with the Holy Ghost, and with power: He went about doing good, and healing all that were brought into subjection by the devil: for God was with him.

³⁵ I have shewed you every thing, that so labouring ye ought to support the weak; and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹⁵ For if thy brother be grieved with meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

³ For even Christ pleased not himself; but as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

⁵ Now the God of patience and consolation, grant you to be unanimous one towards another, according to Christ Jesus:

³³ Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but that of many, that they may be saved.

² And walk in love, as Christ also hath saved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God, for a sweet-smelling savour.

²¹ For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:

¹ Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm your selves likewise with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceased from sin;

⁶ He that saith he abideth in him, ought himself also to walk, even as he walked.

²³ Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted, is, God with us.

¹ IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God.

¹⁸ No one hath Seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].

¹⁸ The Jews therefore the more sought to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal to God.

²³ That all should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, neither honoureth he the Father who hath sent him.

⁵⁸ Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily verily I say unto you, Before Abraham I am. ⁵⁹ Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, and so passed by.

³⁰ I and the Father are one.

³³ The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that being a man thou makest thy self God.

³⁸ But if I do, though ye will not believe me, believe the works: that ye may know and believe that the Father [is] in me, and I in the Father.

⁹ Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you; and yet hast thou not know me Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father; and how sayst thou, Shew us the Father?

²⁸ Ye have heard that I said unto you, I go away, and come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoyce, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I.

⁵ And now, O Father, glorifie thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had from thee before the world was.

²⁸ Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord, and my God.

⁵ Whose [are] the fathers; and of whom as concerning the flesh is Christ, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

⁴ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine.

¹⁵ Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of the whole creation. ¹⁶ For by him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. ¹⁷ Now unto the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, [be] honour andglory, for ever and ever. Amen,

¹⁶ And without controversy, great is the mystery [of the word]of godliness: who was manifested in the flesh, justified in Spirit, seen of angels, preached among Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.

¹³ Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God, and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

³ Who being a beam of his glory, and the express image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

⁶ And when he bringeth in again the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

⁸ But unto the Son, Thy throne, O God, [it] for ever and ever; and a sceptre of righteousness the sceptre of thy kingdom:

⁸ Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever: Amen.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead: and he laid his right hand upon me, saying. Fear not; I am the first begotten, and the last: ¹⁸ He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore; and have the keys of hades and of death.

⁶ And he said unto me. They are done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end: I will give unto him that is athirst, of the water of life freely.

¹⁸ Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgmentto the Gentiles,

²⁸ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. But do you seek to increase from a little, and to be diminished from what is greater. However, when you are come and are desired to sup, do not you sit in the most eminent places, lest more honourable than thou come, and he that invited thee to supper come upon thee and say to thee, Go down still lower; and thou be put to confusion. But if thou sittest in a lower place, and one inferior to thee comes, he that invited thee will say to thee, Go and sit higher. For this will be to thy advantage.

¹² And he answered and said to them, If Elias cometh first, he will restore all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

⁴⁴ And whosoever of you will be the chief, shall be your servant. ⁴⁵ For even the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and pitched his tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

³ He knowing that the Father had given him all things into [his] hands, and that he was come from God, and that he went to God. ⁴ He riseth from supper, and laid a side [his] garments, and took a towel, and girded himself. ⁵ After that, he taketh and poureth water into a bason, and began to wash his disciples feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel wherewith he was girded. ⁶ He cometh therefore to Simon Peter. He saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? ⁷ Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not yet, but thou shalt know hereafter. ⁸ Peter saith unto him, Lord, Thou shalt never wash [my] feet. Jesus answered, If I shall not wash thee, thou hast no part with me. ⁹ Peter saith unto him, Lord, not the feet only, but also the hands and the head. ¹⁰ Jesus saith unto him, he that is washed, needeth not to have his head washed, but his feet only, for he his clean all over, and ye are clean, but not all. ¹¹ For Jesus knew who should betray him. ¹² So after he had washed their feet, and had taken [his] garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? ¹³ Ye call me Master, and Lord: and ye say well; for I am. ¹⁴ If I then [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet, how much more should ye do it:

³ Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made to him of the seed of David, according to the flesh,

³ What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin condemned sin in the flesh:

⁸ For I say, that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises unto the fathers:

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

⁴ But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

⁶ Who being in the form of [a] God, did not take upon him to be equal to a God:

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. ¹⁰ For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. ¹¹ For both he that sanctifieth, and they who are sanctified, [are] all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them Brethren, ¹² Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the Church will I sing praise unto thee. ¹³ And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold, I and the children whom God hath given me. ¹⁴ Forasmuch then as the children were partakers of blood and flesh, he also himself likewise took part of the same sufferings: that thro death he might destroy [death] that hath the power of death, that is, the devil; ¹⁵ And deliver them who through fear of death, were all their life time subject to bondage. ¹⁶ For verily he took not hold of angels; but he took hold of the seed of Abraham. ¹⁷ Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren; that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest, in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people: ¹⁸ For in that he himself hath suffered, being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

¹⁵ For we have not an high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, without sin.

² Looking unto Jesus theauthor and finisher of the faith; who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them which suffer adversity, as being your selves also in the body.

² Being transfigured before them; His face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as snow.

³⁹ And he came a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou [wilt].

⁴² He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away, except I drink it, thy will be done.

² And after six days, Jesus taketh with him, Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. ³ And his raiment, became shining, exceeding white as snow; such as no one upon earth can so white them.

³⁴ Jesus saith unto them, My food is that I may do the will of him that sent me, and finish his work.

¹⁸ No man taketh it from me: I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of the Father.

²⁸ Father, glorifie thy name with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. And a voice came from heaven saying, I have both glorified [it], and will glorifie [it] again. ²⁹ The multitude therefore that stood heard it and said it was thunder: others said, that An Angel spake to him. ³⁰ Jesus answered, and said, This voice came, not because of me, but for your sakes. ³¹ Now is the judgment of the world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. ³² And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all things unto me.

³¹ But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as he commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

¹⁰ If ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I also have kept my Fathers commandments, and abide in his love.

³³ In [his] humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners: so by the obedience of one man, shall many be made righteous.

¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: It is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

⁵ So also, Christ glorified not himself, to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to-day have I begotten thee. ⁶ As he saith also again in another [place], Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec, ⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears, unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard, in that he feared; ⁸ Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience, by the things which he suffered: ⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come, For in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God. ⁸ Above, when he said, Sacrifices, and offerings, and burnt offerings, and [offerings] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure, which are offered by the law; ⁹ Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

²⁴ Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to our sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose wound ye were healed.

¹⁸ For Christ also hath once died for sins for us, the just for the unjust; that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickned by the Spirit:

²⁷ All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth the Son but the Father: neither knoweth any one the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him].

¹⁸ And Jesus came, and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth.

²² All things are delivered to me of the Father; and, and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is,but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal [him.]

³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. ³⁶ That he who believeth on the Son, may have eternal life: But he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

²² For the Father judgeth no man; but hath given all judgment unto the Son; ²³ That all should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, neither honoureth he the Father who hath sent him. ²⁴ Verily verily I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath eternal life, and shall not come into judgement; but is passed from death unto life. ²⁵ Verily verily I say unto you, That the hour cometh and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the living Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself: ²⁷ And hath given him authority to execute judgement, because he is the Son of man.

³ He knowing that the Father had given him all things into [his] hands, and that he was come from God, and that he went to God.

¹ These words spake Jesus; and lift up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorifie thy Son, that thy Son may glorifie thee. ² As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that every one whom thou hast given him may have eternal life. ³ And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent into this world.

³² This Jesus therefore hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. ³³ Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath poured out upon you this, which ye now both see and hear. ³⁴ For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, The LORD saith unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, ³⁵ Until I make thy foes the footstool of thy feet. ³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

³¹ Him hath God exalted in glory, a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins in him.

⁹ For to this end Christ both lived, and died, and rose again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. ¹⁰ But why dost thou judge thy brother in not eating, or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of God. ¹¹ For it is written, I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

²⁴ Then is the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule, and all authority, and power. ²⁵ For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. ²⁶ For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under [him, it is] manifest that he is excepted who did put all things under him. ²⁷ The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed, [is] death.

²⁰ Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly [places], ²¹ Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come: ²² And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him the head over all things to the church, ²³ Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence,

⁴ Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

²² Who isgone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God, angels, and authorities, and powers, being made subject unto him.

¹⁷ For he received from God the Father, honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory. This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

⁵ And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first-begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth: Unto him that loved us, and loosed us from [our] sins in his own blood.

²¹ To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

¹² Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, [to] receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength and honour, and glory, and blessing.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of this world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever.

¹⁶ And he hath on his thigh a name written, King of Kings[,] and Lord of lords.

⁴⁰ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly: so shall the Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

²⁹ And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put [it] on his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, king of the Jews.

²⁸ Marvel not at this; for the hour cometh in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. ²⁹ And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that do evil, unto the resurrection of condemnation.

⁴ But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to my self seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

¹⁰ That in the dispensation of the fulness of times, he would gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, in him:

¹⁴ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁹ Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ The twenty-four elders will fall down before him that sits on the throne, and will worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

¹³ And every creature which [is] in heaven, and on the earth, and such as [are] in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I, saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, [and] unto the Lamb for ever and ever! ¹⁴ And the four animals said, Amen. And the elders fell down and worshipped.

¹³ And the sea gave up the dead, those that were in it; and death and hades delivered up the dead, those that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

³² Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in the heavens.

¹¹ For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, Who is Christ the Lord.

²² These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any one should confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

⁴² Nevertheless among the chief rulers also, many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue.

¹³ Ye call me Master, and Lord: and ye say well; for I am.

³² God shalt also glorifie him in himself, and shall straightway glorifie him.

¹³ And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and I will come unto him, and make my abode with him.

¹⁴ He will glorifie me, for he shall receive of mine and will shew it unto you. ¹⁵ All things that the Father hath, are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall tell it unto you.

¹ These words spake Jesus; and lift up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorifie thy Son, that thy Son may glorifie thee.

³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

³⁶ For the word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ; he is Lord of all.

⁹ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ¹¹ For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him, shall by no means be ashamed. ¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all, is rich unto all that call upon him.

⁹ For to this end Christ both lived, and died, and rose again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

¹¹ For it is written, I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for [his] mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

⁶ But to us is one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.

³ Wherefore I give you to understand, that no one, by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed; and no one can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

⁴⁷ The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] from heaven.

²¹ Who by him are faithful unto God that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.

² Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God.

¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

⁷ For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

⁵ He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

¹² And from the days of John the Baptist, until now, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

²³ Then said one unto him, Lord, are those that are saved few? But he said unto them, ²⁴ Strive to enter in at the strait door: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not find it.

²⁷ Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto eternal life, which the Son of man giveth unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. ²⁸ Then said they unto him, What shall we work that we may do the works of God? ²⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye may believe on him whom he hath sent.

⁶ And he trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord [said] unto him. Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee there what thou must do.

²⁹ Then he called for a light, and leaped in, and trembling, fell down at the feet of Paul and Silas;

⁷ To them who by patient continuance in well-doing, seek for glory, and honour, and immortality; eternal life:

¹¹ And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast away the works of darkness, but let us put on the armour of light. ¹³ Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying ¹⁴ But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, unto its lusts.

³ And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

¹⁴ I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn [you].

²⁰ And unto the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as not being my self under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; ²¹ To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ) that I might gain them that are without law. ²² To the weak became I weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save all men. ²³ And I do all things for the gospels sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you]. ²⁴ Know ye not that they who run in a race, run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain. ²⁵ And every one that striveth for the mastery, is temperate in all things: Now, they [do it] to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. ²⁶ I therefore so run, not as uncertainly: so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: ²⁷ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I my self should be a castaway.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my loved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

¹⁵ And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him.

⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. ⁸ For he that soweth to his flesh, shall of his flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth from the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. ⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

⁵ Servants, be obedient to them that are masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart; as unto Christ:

⁵ For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

²⁷ Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel;

²⁹ For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

¹⁹ But I trust in Christ Jesus, to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

¹³ Brethren, I count not my self to have yet apprended: but one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ Therefore, my brethren, dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, [my] dearly beloved.

¹⁵ Ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia no church communicated with me, as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

³ Remembring without ceasing the work of your faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God, and our Father:

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elects sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹ Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

¹¹ Let us labour therefore, Brethren, to enter into that rest, lest any man fall from the same example of truth.

⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

¹⁰ For God [is] not unrighteous, to forget your work of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministred to the saints, and do minister. ¹¹ And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

¹ Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race which is set before us,

²⁸ Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear. ²⁹ For our God is a consuming fire.

¹¹ Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshy lusts, which war against the soul;

⁵ And do ye give all diligence, add to your faith, virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness; ⁷ And to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity. ⁸ For if these things be present with you, and abound, they make [you] neither barren, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he that lacketh these things, is blind, and cannot see far off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ¹⁰ Wherefore the rather, Brethren, give diligence that by your good works you may make your comfort and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall not fall:

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: to him [be] glory, both now and for ever. Amen.

³² Fear not, little flock; for it is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

²⁷ John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven,

⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Everyone that heareth, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

⁶⁵ And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no one can come unto me, except it were given unto him of the Father.

²¹ But the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

¹¹ For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth.

¹⁶ So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God, I am what I am: and his grace upon me has not been poor, but I laboured more abundantly than all: yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

⁵ Not that we are sufficient of our selves to think any thing as of ourselves: but our sufficiency [is] of God.

⁵ Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

⁹ Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to the good pleasure, which he hath purposed in himself:

¹¹ In whom also we have been called; being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, for the great love wherewith he loved us, ⁵ Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickned us together with Christ, by whose grace ye are saved.

⁸ For by his grace are we saved, through faith and that not of our selves; [it is] the gift of God:

¹¹ Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren, beloved of God; because God hath from the beginning chosen us to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ Whereunto he called you by our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began,

⁴ But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, ⁵ Not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration, and renewing by the Holy Ghost;

²¹ Make us perfect in every good work: that we may do his will; working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever: Amen.

¹⁶ Do not therefore err, mybeloved brethren. ¹⁷ Every, good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ¹⁸ Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.

³ Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹¹ And when they had received [it], they murmured against the master of the house,

³³ And they came to Capharnaum, and being in the house, he asked them, What was it that ye disputed by the way? ³⁴ But they held their peace: for they had disputed among themselves, who [should be] the greatest.

⁵ This ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured at her.

¹ And in these days when the disciples were multiplied, there was a murmuring of the Helenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration, in the ministration of the Hebrews.

² But when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, Paul said that they should abide so as they had believed, and said it with great assurance. But those that came from Jerusalem charged them, Paul and Barnabas and certain others, to go up to the Apostles and Elders to Jerusalem that a determination might be made by them concerning this question.

⁷ And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up by the spirit, and said unto them, Men, Brethren, ye know how that of ancient Days, God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

³⁹ But the contention was so sharp, that they departed asunder one from the other: Then Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus.

¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

¹ Him that is weak in the faith receive you, not to the judging of his reasonings.

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark diligently them who cause divisions and scandals, saying or doing things contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you; but ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment. ¹¹ For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by those of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. ¹² Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.

³ For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? ⁴ For while one saith, I am of Paul, and another, I [am] of Apollos, are ye not carnal men? ⁵ Who then is Apollos, and who [is] Paul? Ministers by whom ye believed; even as the Lord gave to every man.

¹⁰ Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

³ [Do] nothing through strife, or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.

¹³ And to esteem them very highly in love for their works sake. Be at peace among them.

¹⁵ See that none render evil for evil unto any man: but ever follow that which is good, among your selves, and to all men.

³ If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholsome words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; ⁴ He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof are begotten envyings, strifes, railings, evil surmisings, ⁵ Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and turning from the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:

¹⁴ Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

²⁰ For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

¹⁴ But if then ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

⁹ Grudge not one against another, my brethren, lest ye be judged: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

¹¹ But let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

⁹ Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

¹⁶ These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words]; respecters of persons, because of advantage.

¹⁴ Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. ¹⁵ Neither do they light a candle, and put it under a bushel: but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so thine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorifie your Father who is in the heavens.

⁴⁵ That ye may be children of your Father who is in the heavens; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

⁴⁸ Ye shall therefore be perfect, even as your Father who is in the heavens is perfect.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

⁶ Now they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, blameless.

³⁵ But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, desponding nothing: and your reward shall be great and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful, and the evil.

³⁵ He was a burning and shining light; and ye were willing for a season to rejoyce in his light.

⁴⁰ And with many other words didhe testify and exhort them, saying, Save your selves from this untoward generation.

³⁰ Also of your own selves will men arise, speaking perverse things to turn away the disciples after them.

¹⁹ For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: and I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

⁸ Who shall also confirm you unto the end, blameless, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

¹ Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; ² And walk in love, as Christ also hath saved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God, for a sweet-smelling savour.

⁷ Be not ye therefore partakers with them. ⁸ For ye were sometimes darkness, but now light in the Lord: walk as children of light,

²⁷ That he might himself present it a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

¹⁰ That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere, and without offence till the day of Christ;

²³ And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly: and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

² A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

¹⁰ And let these also first be proved; and thus let them use the office of a deacon, being blameless.

⁷ And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

¹⁴ I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

²⁰ But them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

⁶ If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not accused of riot, or unruly.

¹⁰ Neither purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

¹⁵ These things speak and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

²⁶ For such an high priest became us also, holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

¹⁴ As obedient children, not fashioning your selves according to the former lusts, in your ignorance: ¹⁵ But as he who hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; ¹⁶ Because it is written, Ye shall be holy, for I am holy. ¹⁷ And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

⁹ But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

¹² Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by the good works which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹⁴ Wherefore, Beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent, that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless:

¹ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called and we are the Sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not, ² Beloved, we are now the Sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: We know, that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. ³ And every man that hath this hope in him, purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

⁹ Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will cause that they shall come, and shall worship before thy feet, and know that I have loved thee.

²⁷ What I tell you in darkness, speak ye in the light: and what ye hear in the ear, preach ye upon the house-tops.

⁸ Also I say unto you that, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.

⁶³ It is the spirit that quickneth, the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken unto you, are spirit, are life.

⁶⁸ But Simon Peter said, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

²⁶ Men, Brethren, children of the family of Abraham, and whosoever among us feareth God, to us is the word of this salvation sent forth.

⁸ But what saith the scripture: The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith which we preach, ⁹ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ¹¹ For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him, shall by no means be ashamed. ¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all, is rich unto all that call upon him. ¹³ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved. ¹⁴ How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! ¹⁶ But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

²⁶ I therefore so run, not as uncertainly: so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

¹⁴ As also you have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also [are] ours in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.

² And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them who were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run in vain.

¹¹ I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

¹⁹ For what [is] our hope, or joy, or cron of rejoicing? [are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus, at his coming?

⁵ For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith; lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

¹⁵ Study to shew thy self approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ¹⁶ But shun profane and vain bablings; for they will increase unto more ungodliness. ¹⁷ And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus;

¹² For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart:

²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth.

¹ THAT which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the word of life;

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth, say, Come. Let him that is athirst, come: And he that will, let him take the water of life freely.

²⁴ But this I do not value, neither count I my life dear unto my self, so that I may finish my course, and the ministry of the word, which word I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify to Jews and Gentiles the gospel of the grace of God.

¹³ Then Paul said unto us; What mean ye to weep, and to disturb mine heart? for I am not only willing to be bound, but also am ready to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, your reasonable service.

¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministring the Gospel of God; that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

⁴ Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great [is] my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in our manifold tribulation.

¹⁵ And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you: the more abundantly I love you, the less I [am] beloved.

²⁰ According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

³⁰ Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, exposing his life to danger to supply your lack of service toward me.

¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus what was sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.

²⁴ Who now rejoice in sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his body's sake, who is the church:

⁸ So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.

⁷ Therefore, brethren, we are comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: ⁸ For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we rejoiced for your sakes before our God,

⁶ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

¹⁵ By him let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit the lips, giving thanks to his name. ¹⁶ But to do good, and to communicate, forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased,

⁵ Ye also as lively stones, are built upon them a spiritual house, unto an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.

¹³ Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

¹ Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed [is] not grievous, but for you [it is] safe.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord alway: again I say, Rejoice.

² My Brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; ³ Knowing [this,] that the trying of your faith worketh patience. ⁴ But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

²¹ And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

¹² And again Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

²¹ Timotheus my work-fellow, and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater my kinsmen, and the churches of Christ, salute you.

¹⁷ For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ Jesus, as I teach everywhere in every church.

¹³ In whom ye also did so, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

²¹ But that ye also may know my affairs, how I do, Tychicus a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make them known to you: ²² Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

¹ PAUL and Timothy the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus, who are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

²³ Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me. ²⁴ But I trust in the Lord, that I also myself shall come shortly. ²⁵ Yet I supposed it necessary, so send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and fellow-soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

²⁸ I have sent him therefore the more carefully, that when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

⁸ Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our estate, and to comfort your hearts; ⁹ With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you, who shall make known unto you all things which [are] here,

² And sent Timothy our brother, and our fellow-worker with God in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;

⁶ But now when that Timothy is come from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also you: ⁷ Therefore, brethren, we are comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: ⁸ For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all towards each other aboundeth:

¹² For the which cause I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

⁵ Hearing of thy faith and love, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus Christ, and toward all saints; ⁶ That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing, which is in you in Christ Jesus. ⁷ For we have had great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, Brother.

¹⁵ For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

³ For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

¹³ Because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

⁶ But he said this, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag, he bare what was put therein.

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you; but ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment. ¹¹ For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by those of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

¹⁰ Now if Timothy come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also [do].

² Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be unanimous, having the same love, of one accord, of one mind.

²² But ye know the proof of him, that as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the Gospel.

¹¹ And Jesus, who is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellow-workers unto the kingdom of God, who have been a comfort unto me.

² Unto Timothy, [my] own son in the faith: grace, mercy, peace from God the Father, and Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁵ When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

²⁴ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any one wilt come after me, let him deny him self, and take up his cross and follow me.

⁵⁷ And it came to pass that as they went in the way, one said unto him, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. ⁵⁸ And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the heaven nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head. ⁵⁹ And he said unto another, Follow me: But he said, suffer me first to go away, and bury my father. ⁶⁰ But he said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead; but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. ⁶¹ And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee: but let me first bid them farewell who are at home at my house. ⁶² But Jesus said unto him, No man looking back, and putting his hand to the plough, is fit for the kingdom of God.

²⁶ If any man comes to me, and hates not his father, and his mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

¹³ Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga of Pamphylia: and John departed from them, and returned to Jerusalem.

³⁸ But Paul was not willing, saying, he would not take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work for which they were sent.

³³ Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but that of many, that they may be saved.

⁵ Doth not behave it self unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil,

⁵ For as the suffering of Christ abounds in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judge, that [if] one died for all, then were all dead; ¹⁵ And he died for all, that they who live, should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him who died for them, and rose again.

²⁰ According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. ²¹ For to me to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain.

⁴ Looking, not every man on his own things, but evey man on the things of others.

¹⁵ This thou knowest, that all they who are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

² For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

¹⁰ For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica: Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

¹⁶ At my first Apology no man stod with me, but all men forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge.

³ Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him, because of the Jews who were in those places: for they knew all that his father was a Greek. ⁴ And as they went through the cities, they preached and delivered to them the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness; and withal delivered the commands of the apostles and elders who were at Jerusalem. ⁵ And so were the churches established, and increased in number daily. ⁶ And they passed through Phrygia, and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to speak the word of God to any in Asia. ⁷ But when they were in Mysia, they desired to go to Bithynia: but the Spirit of Jesus suffered them not. ⁸ And they passing through Mysia came to Troas. ⁹ [And] one like a man of Macedonia appeared to Paul in a vision in the night, standing over against him, and prayed, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. ¹⁰ When therefore he was risen he declared to us the vision, and we understood that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel unto those that were in Macedonia. ¹¹ Now on the morrow, loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis; ¹² And from thence to Philippi, which is the head of Macedonia, a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

⁹ For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.

⁸ I speak not by commandment, but on account of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

²² And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence towards us.

²⁴ Shewing thereby to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.

¹⁸ This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare,

² To Timothy [my] dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, peace from Go the Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁰ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience,

⁴ To Titus [mine] own son after the common faith; Grace and peace from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus our Saviour.

²⁸ When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. ²⁹ And I know that when I come unto you, I shall come in the full assurance of the blessing of Christ.

²⁵ And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all, for your furtherance and joy of faith: ²⁶ That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me, by my coming to you again.

²² But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

¹² Having many things to write unto you, I would not do it with paper and ink; but I hope to be with you, and speak mouth to mouth, that your joy may be full.

¹⁴ But I hope I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak mouth to mouth, Peace [be] to thee. Our brethren salute thee. Greet the friends by name.

¹⁸ As thou hast sent me unto this world, even so have I also sent them unto this world.

⁹ For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, God's building.

¹³ I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I came from thence into Macedonia.

⁷ Have I committed an offence in abasing my self that you might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? ⁸ I robbed other churches, taking wages, to do you service. ⁹ And when I was present with you and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me, the brethren who came from Macedonia, supplied: and in all things I have kept my self from being burdensom unto you, and will keep [my self].

³ Nay, I entreat thee also, true yoke-fellow, help those women who laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement, with other my fellow-labourers, whose names [are] in the book of life.

⁷ As ye learned of Epaphras our dear fellow-servant, who is for us a faithful minister of Christ;

³ Thou therefore endure hardness with [them], as a good fellow-soldier of Jesus Christ. ⁴ No man that warreth, entangleth himself with the affairs of life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

¹ PAUL an Apostle of Jesus Christ, and Timothy [a] brother, unto Philemon our beloved brother, and fellow labourer, ² And to Apphia our beloved sister, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in thy house:

²⁴ Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow labourers.

¹ Wherefore, Holy Brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and high priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

²⁸ Come unto me all that labour, and you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

³⁷ And he took with him Peter, and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful, and very heavy.

³⁵ And Jesus wept. ³⁶ The Jews, therefore said, Behold how he loved him.

¹¹ For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established:

² That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

²⁶ And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it: or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

¹⁴ And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

² Bear ye one another's burdens, andso fulfil the law of Christ.

³ I indeed thank our Lord upon every remembrance of you,

⁶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations.

³ Therefore his sisters sent unto Jesus, saying, Lord, behold, he who thou lovest, is sick. ⁴ When Jesus heard [that], he said, His sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

³⁹ Then Peter arose, and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper room, and all the widows stood round about him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them. ⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down and prayed, and turning to the body, said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and lift her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

¹³ There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not leave you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

⁷ So that contrariwise, [ye ought] rather to forgive and comfort, lest perhaps such an one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

²² And ye now therefore shall have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one taketh from you.

³⁸ Sorrowing most of all for the word which he spake, [that] they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

²⁶ For he longed to see you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. ²⁷ For indeed he was sick nigh unto death but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

⁴⁰ He that receiveth you, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. ⁴¹ He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophets reward.

⁵ And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the dust of your feet for a testimony against them.

²⁰ Verily, verily I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.

⁸ And there was great joy in that city.

¹⁰ Who also honoured us with many honours, and when we departed, they laded [us] with such things as were necessary.

¹⁵ And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

² That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of my self, and of many also.

¹⁸ For they have refreshed both my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

² Receive us: we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

¹⁸ For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

⁹ Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended, is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. ¹¹ And he hath given some, apostles: and some, prophets: and some, evangelists: and some, pastors and teachers; ¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

¹⁰ Aristarchus my fellow-prisoner saluteth you, and Marcus sisters son to Barnabas, touching whom ye received commandments; if he come unto you, receive him.

¹² And we beseech you, brethren, to know them who labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

¹⁷ Let the elders that rule well, be counted worthy of double maintenance, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

¹⁷ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit your selves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account concerning you: that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.

¹⁰ Wherefore if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doth, prating against us with wicked words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth [them] out of the church.

³⁶ Naked; and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thisty, and gave [thee] drink? ³⁸ When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? and naked, and clothed [thee]? ³⁹ Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer, and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

⁴ Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal put on immortality.

¹⁷ I am glad of the coming of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part, they have supplied.

¹⁹ For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, ²⁰ According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

¹⁷ Yea, and if my blood be poured out upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

²⁷ For indeed he was sick nigh unto death but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

¹⁰ But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again, wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

¹³ Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel.

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
