¹ PAUL a servant of Jesus Christ, the called apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, ² Which he had promised afore by his prophets, in the holy scriptures ³ Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made to him of the seed of David, according to the flesh, ⁴ And fore ordained the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: ⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name: ⁶ Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ. ⁷ To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, the called saints: Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. ⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing, I make mention of you always in my prayers, ¹⁰ Making request if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. ¹¹ For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established: ¹² That is, that I may be comforted together with you, by the mutual faith both of you and me. ¹³ Now I suppose that you are not ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, but was hindered hitherto, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. ¹⁴ I am debter both to the Greeks, and to the barbarians, both to the wise, and to the unwise. ¹⁵ So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the Gospel among you that are at Rome also. ¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the Gospel: for it is the Power of God unto salvation, to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek, ¹⁷ For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. ¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness, and unrighteousness of those men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. ¹⁹ Because that which may be known of God, is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] to them. ²⁰ For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: ²¹ Because that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkned. ²² Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools: ²³ And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God, into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. ²⁴ Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: ²⁵ Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. ²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature and use: ²⁷ And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. ²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient: ²⁹ Being filled with all unrighteousness, maliciousness, fornication, covetousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, ³⁰ Evil speakers, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventers of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unmerciful: ³² Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but consent to them that do them.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. ¹⁶ For he that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be condemned.

¹⁰ And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, and it shall be to all people. ¹¹ For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, Who is Christ the Lord.

²⁶ If any serve me, let him follow me, and wheresover I am, these shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honour.

¹⁴ If I then [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet, how much more should ye do it: ¹⁵ For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. ¹⁶ Verily, verily I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord, neither he that is sent, greater than he that sent him.

¹⁵ Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father, I have made known unto you.

²⁰ Remember the words that I said unto you, my servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have observed my saying, they will observe yours also.

¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, Go: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.

² As they ministred to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul, for the work whereunto I have called them. ³ And when they had all fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent [them] away. ⁴ But they being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, came down unto Seleucia; from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

⁹ Then Saul who also [is] Paul filled with the Holy Ghost, looked earnestly at him,

²⁴ But this I do not value, neither count I my life dear unto my self, so that I may finish my course, and the ministry of the word, which word I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify to Jews and Gentiles the gospel of the grace of God.

⁴⁰ And when the chief captain had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckned with the hand unto them: and when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

⁷ And I fell unto the ground and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

¹³ Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him. ¹⁴ And he said to me, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that just one, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. ¹⁵ For thou shalt be his witness unto all men, of what thou hast seen and heard.

²¹ And he said unto me, Depart: for I send thee far unto the Gentiles.

¹ Then Agrippa said unto Paul, thou art permitted to speak for thy self. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself,

¹⁴ And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? [It] [is] hard for thee to kick against the goads.

¹⁶ But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; ¹⁷ Delivering thee from the people, and the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, ¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn [them] from darkness to light, and[from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them who are sanctified by faith that is in me.

²³ For there stood by me this night, the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name:

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing, I make mention of you always in my prayers,

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the Gospel: for it is the Power of God unto salvation, to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek,

¹³ For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am an apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministring the Gospel of God; that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

²⁹ And I know that when I come unto you, I shall come in the full assurance of the blessing of Christ.

¹⁸ For they that are such, serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words, deceive the hearts of the simple.

²⁵ Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

¹ PAUL an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes a brother,

¹ Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not you my work in the Lord?

¹⁶ For if I should preach the gospel, I have no thanks for it: for necessity is laid upon me; For, wo is unto me, if I preach not the gospel. ¹⁷ For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation is committed unto me. ¹⁸ What is my reward then? verily that when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

⁸ And last of all, he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. ¹⁰ But by the grace of God, I am what I am: and his grace upon me has not been poor, but I laboured more abundantly than all: yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

¹ PAUL an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy a brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

⁵ For we preach not our selves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and our selves your servants for Jesus sake.

⁵ For I suppose I have not been among you a whit behind the very chief apostles.

¹¹ I am become a fool; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chief apostles, though I be nothing.

¹ PAUL an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead,

¹⁰ For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. ¹¹ For I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me, is not after man. ¹² For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught [it], but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. ¹³ For ye have heard of my conversation in time past, in the Jews religion, that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: ¹⁴ And profited in the Jews religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. ¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers womb, and called [me] by his grace, ¹⁶ To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: ¹⁷ Neither went I up to Jerusalem, to them who were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

¹ PAUL an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to the saints which are at [[Read] Laodicia.] Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

¹³ In whom ye also did so, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

⁵ Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Holy Spirit; ⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs; and of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ, by the gospel: ⁷ Whereof I have been made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me, by the effectual working of his power.

¹¹ And he hath given some, apostles: and some, prophets: and some, evangelists: and some, pastors and teachers;

¹ PAUL and Timothy the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus, who are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

¹¹ And that every tongue should confess, that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁶ Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless, ⁷ But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

¹ Paul as apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy [our] brother,

²⁵ Whereof I am made a minister according to the dispensation of God, which is given to me for you, fully to preach the word of God;

² But after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren, beloved of God; because God hath from the beginning chosen us to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ Whereunto he called you by our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ PAUL an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Jesus Christ, [who is] our hope;

¹¹ Which is according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, that was committed to my trust. ¹² And I thank him who hath enabled me by Christ Jesus our Lord: for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

¹⁵ This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ Howbeit, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me Jesus Christ might shew forth all his long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

⁷ Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, I speak the truth, I lie not, a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

¹¹ Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

¹ PAUL a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth, which is after godliness:

⁴ And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as [was] Aaron:

²⁶ For such an high priest became us also, holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

¹ JAMES a Servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

¹ SYMEON Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us, through the righteousness of God, and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

¹ JUDE the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are beloved by God the Father, the preserved and called in Jesus Christ:

¹ THE revelation [of] Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John:

⁶ And he said unto me, These sayings [are] faithful and true. And the Lord God of the spirits of the prophets hath sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

⁹ Then saith he unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them who observe the words of this book: worship God.

⁷⁰ Ashe spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began;

²⁶ That Christ ought to have suffered these things, and to have entred into his glory? ²⁷ And he began from Moses, and all the prophets, to expound unto them in the scriptures, the things concerning himself.

⁴³ To him witness all the prophets, that through his name whosoever believeth in him, shall receive remission of sins.

⁶ And now I stand, and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:

² Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

²⁶ But now is made manifest, by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith.

² In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before eternal ages;

¹ THE book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

⁶ And Jesse begat David the king, and David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been] the wife of Urias:

¹⁶ And Jacob begat Joseph to whom the Virgin Mary was espoused, and bare Jesus Christ.

²⁰ But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost: ²¹ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. ²² Now all this was done, that its might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by Isaias the prophet, saying, ²³ Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted, is, God with us.

¹⁷ And lo, a voice from heaven, saying unto him, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

²⁷ And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed, crying, and saying, Thou son of David have mercy on us.

²³ And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

²² And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried after him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a dæmon.

⁴² Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, Of David. ⁴³ He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying; ⁴⁴ The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I put thine enemies beneath thy feet. ⁴⁵ If David then in the spirit, call him Lord, how is he his son?

⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. The high priest therefore answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us, whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

⁴³ If he trusted in God let him deliver him now if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

³¹ And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. ³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest;and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father. ³³ And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee, shall be called the Son of God.

⁶⁹ And hath raised an horn of salvation for us, in the house of David his Servant;

⁴ And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into the land of Juda, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: ⁵ To be enrolled with Mary who was espoused to him;being great with child; because he was of the house and family of David. ⁶ But when they were come thither the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and pitched his tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

³⁴ And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.

¹⁶ For God hath so loved the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son, that every one who believeth on him, should not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God sent not his Son unto the world to judge the world; but that the world through him might be saved. ¹⁸ He that believeth on him shall not be judged: but he that believeth not, is judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.

³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. ³⁶ That he who believeth on the Son, may have eternal life: But he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

²⁵ Verily verily I say unto you, That the hour cometh and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.

⁴² Does not the scripture say, that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

³⁰ I and the Father are one.

³⁶ Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, that Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

²⁸ Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord, and my God.

³¹ But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that believing ye might have eternal life in his name.

³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his heart* (*read loins), according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ, and to place him on his throne.

¹³ The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his Son Jesus Christ, whom ye delivered up to Judgment, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined and willing to let him go.

³⁶ And as they went on the way, they came unto a certain water; and the Eunuch said, See water, what doth forbid me to be baptized?

²⁰ And straightway he preached Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

²² And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king: to whom also he testified and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, who wilt do all that I will. ²³ God therefore from his seed hath, according to [his] promise, raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

² For the law of the Spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of sin and death, ³ What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin condemned sin in the flesh:

²⁹ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. ³¹ What shall we then say to there things? if God [be] for us, who is against us? ³² He that did not so much as spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

⁵ Whose [are] the fathers; and of whom as concerning the flesh is Christ, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

⁹ God [is] faithful, from whom ye were all called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁴ But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

¹³ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son: ¹⁴ In whom we have the redemption of sins. ¹⁵ Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of the whole creation.

¹⁰ And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath that is coming.

¹⁶ And without controversy, great is the mystery [of the word]of godliness: who was manifested in the flesh, justified in Spirit, seen of angels, preached among Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.

⁸ Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David, was raise from the dead, according to my gospel:

³ That which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

⁸ But he that committeth sin, is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

²³ And this is his commandment, that we believe on the name of Jesus Christ himself, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

² Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. ³ And every spirit that confesseth [it] not, is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come, and even now already it is in the world.

⁹ In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son the propitiation for our sins.

¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

¹ Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat, loveth him also that is begotten of him.

⁵ Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁰ He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the record in himself: he that believeth not the Son hath made himself a liar, because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. ¹¹ And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that hath the Son, hath life; he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life. ¹³ These things have I written unto you that ye may know that you who believe on the name of the Son of God have eternal life; and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding that we may know the true God: and we are in him that is true, in his Son. This is the true God, and eternal life.

⁷ For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

¹⁸ And unto the angel who is at Thyatira, write. These things saith the Son of God, who hath eyes like unto a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass.

³¹ Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man will be accomplished. ³² For he will be delivered unto the Gentiles, and be mocked, and spit on. ³³ And they will scourge [him,] and put him to death: and the third day he will rise again.

¹⁸ The answered the Jews, and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, that thou dost these things? ¹⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I wilt raise it up. ²⁰ Then said the Jews, Forty and six years has this temple been built, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? ²¹ But he spake of the temple of his body.

²⁴ Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of Hades: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

³² This Jesus therefore hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

¹⁵ And killed the prince of life, whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹⁰ Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. ¹¹ This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. ¹² Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given to men whereby we must be saved.

³⁰ But Peter said unto them. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, and hanged on a tree. ³¹ Him hath God exalted in glory, a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins in him. ³² And [we are his] witnesses of these things; and also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

³³ For thus hath God fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus Christ again; as it is also written in the first psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession. ³⁴ And that he raised him up from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he said thus, I will give you the sure mercies of David. ³⁵ He saith also in another [psalm,] Thou wilt not suffer thine holy One to see corruption.

³¹ As he hath appointed a day to judge the world in righteousness, by the man Jesus, whom he hath ordained; to give assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

³ Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made to him of the seed of David, according to the flesh,

⁴ For he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God: For we also are weak in him, but we shall live by the power of God toward you.

¹⁹ And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power towards you who believe, according to the working of his mighty power; ²⁰ Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly [places], ²¹ Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come: ²² And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him the head over all things to the church, ²³ Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

⁵ So also, Christ glorified not himself, to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to-day have I begotten thee. ⁶ As he saith also again in another [place], Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec,

¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ do, who through the Holy Spirit, offered himself without spot to God, who will purge our conscience from dead works to serve the living God;

¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings for Christ, and the glory that should follow.

²¹ For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake, being moved by the Holy Ghost.

¹⁸ He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore; and have the keys of hades and of death.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him: And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not; I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹⁶ For of his fulness have all we received and grace for grace.

²⁵ That he may take the place of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas fell, that he might go to his own place.

⁷ And the word of the Lord increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

¹⁴ Symeon hath declared how God at the first hath visited the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

²⁹ [Is he] the God of the Jews only? and not of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

³ For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

¹⁵ Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you, in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, ¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministring the Gospel of God; that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to say any of those things, which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, ¹⁹ Through his mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem unto Illyricum and round about, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

² If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God, I am what I am: and his grace upon me has not been poor, but I laboured more abundantly than all: yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

⁵ Not that we are sufficient of our selves to think any thing as of ourselves: but our sufficiency [is] of God. ⁶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

⁴ For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. ⁵ Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth it self against the knowledge of God, and captivating every thought, and bringing it unto the obedience of Christ: ⁶ And having in readiness to revenge all obedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers womb, and called [me] by his grace, ¹⁶ To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

⁸ For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me towards the Gentiles. ⁹ And when Peter, James, and John, who seemed to be pillars, prceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we [should go] unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in his beloved Son.

¹² That we should be to the praise of [his] glory, who first hoped in Christ.

² If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God, which is given me to you-ward: ³ How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote afore in few words, ⁴ Whereby when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ. ⁵ Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Holy Spirit; ⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs; and of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ, by the gospel: ⁷ Whereof I have been made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me, by the effectual working of his power. ⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. ⁹ And to make all men see, what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world, hath been hid in God, who created all things.

⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

⁹ But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: ¹⁰ Who in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are called according to [his] purpose. ²⁹ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

²⁴ Even us whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.

⁶ I marvel that ye are so soon removed from me that called you into the grace of Jesus Christ, unto another gospel:

¹¹ In whom also we have been called; being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

⁶ Which is come unto you, as [it is] in all the world, and bringeth forth fruit, and increaseth, as also in you, since the day ye heard [it], and have acknowledged the grace of God in truth.

²¹ And you that were sometime alienated, and enemies of his mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled,

¹² That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

¹⁴ Whereunto he called you by our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began,

¹ Wherefore, Holy Brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and high priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

⁹ But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

²¹ For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:

¹⁰ Wherefore the rather, Brethren, give diligence that by your good works you may make your comfort and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall not fall:

¹⁴ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with him, [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.

¹⁶ Let your light so thine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorifie your Father who is in the heavens.

⁸ Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye open your mouth. ⁹ After this manner therefore pray ye; Our Father who art in the heavens, Hallowed be thy name.

¹⁷ Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not: for I have not yet ascended to the Father: Go therefore to the brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

⁵⁹ And they stoned Stephen, invocating and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. ⁶⁰ And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, saying, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. And Saul was consenting unto his death.

²³ And wrote a letter containing what follows. The apostles and elders, [and] brethren, send greeting unto the brethren of the Gentiles in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia.

⁶ Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ.

¹ Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ.

³⁹ Nor height, nor depth, nor any creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²⁵ As he saith also in Osee; I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her, beloved, who was not beloved.

² Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours. ³ Grace [be] unto you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁴ I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; ⁵ That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and all knowledge: ⁶ Even as the Testimony of Christ was confirmed in you. ⁷ So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: ⁸ Who shall also confirm you unto the end, blameless, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ God [is] faithful, from whom ye were all called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

²³ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.

¹ PAUL an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy a brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: ² Grace [be] to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, [be] with you all. Amen.

³ Grace [be] to you, and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁴ Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God, and our Father:

¹⁸ Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] in your spirit, Amen.

² Grace [be] to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²³ Peace [be] to the brethren, and love with faith from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthneth me.

²⁰ Now unto God and our Father [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.

²³ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with your spirit. Amen.

² To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ Jesus, who are at Colosse: Grace [be] unto you, and peace from God our Father.

¹² Put on therefore as the elect of God holy and beloved bowels of mercies, also kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

¹⁵ And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

¹ PETER an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourning in the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, ² Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.

¹⁵ But as he who hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

² Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus Christ the Lord, ³ According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us by his own glory and virtue :

¹ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called and we are the Sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not,

²¹ The grace of the Lord Jesus [be] with you all.

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to all the world, for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.

¹ Now it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cesar Augustus, that all the world should be enrolled.

²⁸ And as we conversed together, one of them named Agabus, spake, signifying by the spirit, that there should be a great famine throughout all the world: which also came to pass under Claudius.

¹⁷ But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin: but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which ye were delivered.

¹⁹ For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: and I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

⁴ I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

¹⁵ Wherefore I also, after I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and love unto all the saints,

²¹ Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus, through out all ages, world without end. Amen.

²⁰ Giving thanks always for all things unto God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

³ I indeed thank our Lord upon every remembrance of you,

¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of Christ. [God.]

³ We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you:

⁸ For from you sounded out the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but in every place our faith to God-ward is spread abroad, so that we need not to speak any thing. ⁹ For they themselves shew of us, what manner of entring in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God,

¹⁵ By him let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit the lips, giving thanks to his name.

⁵ Ye also as lively stones, are built upon them a spiritual house, unto an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

¹¹ If any man speak, as the oracles of God; if any man minister, as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

¹ THE beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God,

¹ He spake also a parable unto them, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

²³ But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. ²⁴ God [is] a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth.

²⁶ Unto you first, God having raised up his Son, sent him forth to bless [you,] in turning away every one from your iniquities.

⁵ Peter therefore was kept in prison; but great prayer was made with fervency of the church unto God for him.

²¹ Then Paul purposed in the spirit, to pass through Macedonia and Achaia, and to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

¹⁴ But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call an heresy, so worship I my Father, and my God; believing all things which are written in the law and the prophets:

¹ I say the truth in Christ Jesus, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

¹⁴ or if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with a meaning also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with a meaning also.

²³ Moreover, I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.

¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia. ¹¹ Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.

³¹ The God of Israel, and the Father of our Lord Jesus Chrit, who is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

²⁰ Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

¹⁶ I will not cease to give thanks for you, making mention in my prayers; ¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, in the knowledge of him; ¹⁸ The eyes of your heart being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power towards you who believe, according to the working of his mighty power;

¹⁴ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁵ Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, ¹⁶ That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might, by his Spirit in the inner man; ¹⁷ That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye being rooted and grounded in love, ¹⁸ May be able to comprehend with all saints, what [is] the breadth, and length, and height, and depth; ¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge; that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. ²⁰ Now unto him that is able to perform exceeding abundantly all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, ²¹ Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus, through out all ages, world without end. Amen.

¹⁸ Praying always, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching unto him, always in supplication for all the saints;

⁴ Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy;

⁸ For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all, in the bowels of Jesus Christ. ⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge, and all judgment; ¹⁰ That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere, and without offence till the day of Christ; ¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of Christ. ²² But ye know the proof of him, that as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the Gospel.

³ For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:

⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding: ¹⁰ That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the Knowledge of God; ¹¹ Strengthened with all might according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness; ¹² Giving thanks unto the Father, who hath called us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: ¹³ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:

²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching them in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ. ²⁹ Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

² We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,

⁵ For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God [is] witness. ⁶ Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensom, as the apostles of Christ. ⁷ But we were infants in the midst of you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: ⁸ So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. ⁹ For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. ¹⁰ Ye are witnesses, and God, how holily, and justly, and unblameably we behaved our selves among you that believe:

¹⁰ Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing.

³ I thank my God, whom I serve from [my] forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day: ⁴ I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

⁹ If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God, because he hath testified of his Son. ¹⁰ He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the record in himself: he that believeth not the Son hath made himself a liar, because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. ¹¹ And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that hath the Son, hath life; he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life.

²¹ Bidding them farewel, and saying, I must by all means keep this feast-day that is coming, at Jerusalem. I will return onto you, if God will, [and] he sailed from Ephesus.

¹⁴ And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying one to another, The will of God be done.

¹ And when it was determined that he should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners, unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus band. ² And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we lanched, meaning to sail to the places of Asia, one Aristarchus a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us. ³ But the next [day] we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave [him] liberty to go unto his friends, to refresh himself. ⁴ And when we had lanched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary. ⁵ And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Lystra of Lycia. ⁶ And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein. ⁷ And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone: ⁸ And hardly passing [it,] came unto a place which is called the fair havens, nigh whereunto was the city Thalassa. ⁹ Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul comforted them, ¹⁰ And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. ¹¹ Nevertheless, the centurion, believed the master and Pilot of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. ¹² And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south-west, and north-west. ¹³ And when the south-wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained [their] purpose, loosing they sailed close by Crete. ¹⁴ But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called The North-east [wind.] ¹⁵ And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let [her] drive ¹⁶ And running under a certain island which is called Cauda, we had much work to come by the boat: ¹⁷ Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and fearing lest they should fallinto the quick-sands, struck sail, and so were driven. ¹⁸ And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next [day] they lightned the ship; ¹⁹ And the third [day] they cast out with their own hands the tackling of the ship. ²⁰ And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on [us], all hope that we should be saved, was then taken away. ²¹ And after long abstinence, Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. ²² And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of life among you, but of the ship. ²³ For there stood by me this night, the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, ²⁴ saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cesar: and lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. ²⁵ Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. ²⁶ Howbeit, we must be cast upon a certain island. ²⁷ But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria about midnight, the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country: ²⁸ And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, found it fifteen fathoms.

²² For which cause also I have been much hindred from coming to you. ²³ But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you; ²⁴ Whensoever therefore I take my journey into Spain, I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with you.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; ³¹ And I may be de- livered from them that do not believe in Judea; and that my present for Jerusalem, may be accepted of the saints: ³² That I may come unto you with joy by the will of Christ Jesus, and may with you be refreshed.

¹⁹ But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them who are puffed up, but the power.

⁶ Be careful for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.

¹⁸ Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindred us.

¹⁰ Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? ¹¹ Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way unto you:

²² But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

¹⁹ But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

¹⁵ For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

¹⁵ Who when they were come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost. ¹⁶ For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. ¹⁷ Then laid they hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. ¹⁸ And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles hands, the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money. ¹⁹ Beseeching him, and saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I also lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

⁵ And so were the churches established, and increased in number daily.

⁶ And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost presently fell on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

²³ But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;

³² That I may come unto you with joy by the will of Christ Jesus, and may with you be refreshed.

¹ Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant. ² Ye know that when ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. ³ Wherefore I give you to understand, that no one, by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed; and no one can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. ⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all. ⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit, is given to every man to profit withal. ⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; ⁹ To another faith by the same Spirit: to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another the interpretation of tongues; to another kinds of tongues; ¹¹ But all these worketh that one and the self same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

²¹ Now he who confirmeth us with you, in Christ, and hath anointed us, [is] God:

¹⁴ And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

⁴ For if he that cometh, preacheth another Jesus whom we have not preached, or ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel which ye have not accepted, you would fairly suffer him.

² This only would I learn of you, received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of Faith? ³ Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? ⁴ Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if [it be] yet in vain. ⁵ He therefore that ministreth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, is it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

⁸ Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led a captivity captive, [and] gave gifts unto men. ⁹ Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended, is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. ¹¹ And he hath given some, apostles: and some, prophets: and some, evangelists: and some, pastors and teachers; ¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

⁸ For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all, in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

²⁶ For he longed to see you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

¹ Therefore, my brethren, dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, [my] dearly beloved.

² And sent Timothy our brother, and our fellow-worker with God in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;

¹³ To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. Amen.

¹⁷ Comfort your hearts, and stablish [them] in every good work and word.

³ But God is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep [you] from evil.

⁹ Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines: for [it is] a good thing that the heart be established with grace, not with meats, which have not profited them that walk therein.

¹⁰ But the God of all Grace, who hath called you unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, will make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].

¹² By Silvanus a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying, that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

¹² Wherefore I will be ready to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

¹⁷ Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know it before, beware, lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. ¹⁸ But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: to him [be] glory, both now and for ever. Amen.

²³ Who when he came also and had seen the grace of God, rejoiced, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue with the Lord.

²⁴ Whensoever therefore I take my journey into Spain, I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with you.

¹ And I determined this with my self, that I would not come again to you in heaviness. ² For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but he who is made sorry by me? ³ And I wrote this same thing onto you, lest when I came I should have sorrow upon sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is that of you all.

⁴ Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great [is] my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in our manifold tribulation. ⁵ For when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without fightings, within fears. ⁶ Nevertheless, God that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus: ⁷ And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

¹³ Therefore we were comforted. In our comfort we exceedingly the more joyed for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

⁵ One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

¹⁷ But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time, in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire. ¹⁸ Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindred us. ¹⁹ For what [is] our hope, or joy, or cron of rejoicing? [are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus, at his coming? ²⁰ For ye are our glory and joy.

⁷ Therefore, brethren, we are comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: ⁸ For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we rejoiced for your sakes before our God, ¹⁰ Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

⁴ Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy:

⁴ I rejoiced greatly, that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

³ For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

³ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you, that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

³⁶ He that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth may rejoyce together.

²⁴ Verily verily I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat falling into the ground die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

¹⁶ Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you, that you should go and bring forth much fruit, and your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

²⁷ And when they were come and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done to them, with their souls, and that he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

¹² But the Elders agreed to what Peter had said, and held their peace: and heard Barnabas and Paul, declaring what signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

⁶ And they passed through Phrygia, and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to speak the word of God to any in Asia. ⁷ But when they were in Mysia, they desired to go to Bithynia: but the Spirit of Jesus suffered them not.

¹⁹ And when he had saluted [them], he declared particularly how God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.

²⁵ For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery (lest ye should be wise in your own conceits) that blindness in part is hapned to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to say any of those things, which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, ¹⁹ Through his mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem unto Illyricum and round about, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. ²⁰ Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel where Christ was not named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:

²² For which cause also I have been much hindred from coming to you. ²³ But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you; ²⁴ Whensoever therefore I take my journey into Spain, I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with you. ²⁵ But now I go unto Jerusalem, to minister unto the saints. ²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are at Jerusalem, ²⁷ And their debters they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things. ²⁸ When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.

¹ For, I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

¹ Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

⁸ For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

¹⁵ And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that you might have a second benefit: ¹⁶ And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judea.

¹⁴ Now thanks [be] unto God, who always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the favour of his knowledge by us in every place.

¹³ But we will not boast of things without [our] measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you. ¹⁴ For we stretch not our selves too far, as though we reached not unto you; for we are come as far as to you also, in the gospel of Christ: ¹⁵ Not boasting of things without the measure of other mens labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly, ¹⁶ To preach the gospel in the places beyond you, not to boast in another man's line, of things made ready to our hand.

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

⁸ For from you sounded out the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but in every place our faith to God-ward is spread abroad, so that we need not to speak any thing. ⁹ For they themselves shew of us, what manner of entring in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God, ¹⁰ And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath that is coming.

¹³ For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. ¹⁴ For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God, which in Judea are in Christ Jesus: for ye have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they of the Jews:

¹³ But we would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.

⁷ For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth, [will do it], until he be taken out of the way.

¹⁷ Notwithstanding, the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid there things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes,

²¹ But in that hour he rejoyced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so Father, for so was thy good pleasure.

² And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and refreshed us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

⁴ And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

²² Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools:

¹² Therefore, brethren, we are debters, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

¹⁶ [Be] of the same mind one towards another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits,

⁸ Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another, hath fulfilled the law.

¹⁹ It is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. ²⁰ Where [is] the wise? where the scribe? where the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? ²¹ For after that, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe. ²² For the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom:

¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself with vain words. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

¹⁶ For if I should preach the gospel, I have no thanks for it: for necessity is laid upon me; For, wo is unto me, if I preach not the gospel. ¹⁷ For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation is committed unto me. ¹⁸ What is my reward then? verily that when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. ¹⁹ For though I be free from all men, yet have I made my self servant unto all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰ And unto the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as not being my self under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; ²¹ To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ) that I might gain them that are without law. ²² To the weak became I weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save all men. ²³ And I do all things for the gospels sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you].

¹¹ Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh, a barbarian; and he that speaketh a barbarian unto me,

¹⁶ Else when thou shalt bless in the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned, say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

²³ If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? ²⁴ But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

¹² For we dare not make our selves of the number, or compare our selves with those that commend themselves but they [are] measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves amongst themselves.

¹⁹ For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye are wise.

¹⁵ See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, ¹⁶ Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. ¹⁷ Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is].

¹¹ Where there is neither male nor female, Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian and Scythian, bond and free: but Christ [is] all, and in all.

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elects sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

³ For we our selves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entrated, full of mercy and good fruits, without wavering, without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

³⁸ Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

⁸ She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

³⁴ Jesus saith unto them, My food is that I may do the will of him that sent me, and finish his work.

¹³ Then Paul said unto us; What mean ye to weep, and to disturb mine heart? for I am not only willing to be bound, but also am ready to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

²⁰ Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel where Christ was not named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:

¹⁷ For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation is committed unto me.

¹² For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, not according to that he hath not.

³⁸ But Whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.

²⁶ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Fathers, and of the holy angels.

³⁵ The Jews therefore said among themselves. Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersion of the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

⁹ Tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that doth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which [he had] being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness, might be imputed unto them also:

¹⁷ So then, faith is by hearing, and hearing by the Word.

¹⁹ Through his mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem unto Illyricum and round about, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

¹⁸ For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness: but unto us who are saved, it is the power of God. ¹⁹ It is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. ²⁰ Where [is] the wise? where the scribe? where the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? ²¹ For after that, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe. ²² For the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom: ²³ But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Gentiles foolishness; ²⁴ But unto them who are called both Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

² For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

⁴ And my speech, and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of wisdom, but in the revelation of the Spirit, and of power:

¹² If others be partakers of power over you, [are] not we rather? Nevertheless, we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

¹⁸ What is my reward then? verily that when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

²⁴ But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: ²⁵ And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; [and] falling down on [his] face, he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

² By which also ye are saved. Ye ought to keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

¹² Furthermore when I came to Troas by the gospel of Christ, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

¹⁴ Now thanks [be] unto God, who always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the favour of his knowledge by us in every place. ¹⁵ For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish. ¹⁶ To the one the savour of death unto death; and to the other, the savour of life unto life: and who [is] sufficient for these things?

⁴ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine.

¹³ Whiles by the experiment of this ministration, they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men.

⁴ For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. ⁵ Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth it self against the knowledge of God, and captivating every thought, and bringing it unto the obedience of Christ:

⁷ Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

⁵ For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye have already heard in the Word of the truth of the gospel: ⁶ Which is come unto you, as [it is] in all the world, and bringeth forth fruit, and increaseth, as also in you, since the day ye heard [it], and have acknowledged the grace of God in truth.

⁵ For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. ⁶ And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord; having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

¹³ For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

¹¹ Which is according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, that was committed to my trust.

⁸ Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

¹² For the which cause I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

¹⁶ The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain.

¹² For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart:

¹⁶ Yet if [it be] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

³⁶ That he who believeth on the Son, may have eternal life: But he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

³ For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

³⁰ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles who follow not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith:

¹¹ But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [is] evident: For it is written, that The just shall live by faith.

⁹ And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

³⁸ Now the just shall live by my faith: but if he draw back, my foul shall have no pleasure in him.

⁶ But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. ⁷ By faith Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

⁴⁶ His lord will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. ⁴⁷ And that servant who knew his lords will, but did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes.]

¹⁹ And this is the judgement, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that doth evil things hateth the light, lest his deeds should be reproved by the light. ²¹ But he that doth truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

²⁴ And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus. ²⁵ And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

¹⁹ Because that which may be known of God, is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] to them.

²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient:

³² Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but consent to them that do them.

³ And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them who do such things, and dost the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

¹⁵ Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and thoughts the mean while accusing, or else excusing one another, ¹⁶ In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel. ¹⁷ But if thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God; ¹⁸ And knowest [his] will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law, ¹⁹ And art confident that thou thy self art a guide of the blind, a light of them who are in darkness, ²⁰ An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, who hast the form of knowledge, and of the truth in the law. ²¹ Thou therefore who teachest another, teachest thou not thy self? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? ²² Thou that sayst a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? ²³ Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

¹⁵ Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression.

⁶ For when we were yet without Strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

⁹ Much more then being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

¹³ Neither yield ye your members instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield your selves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead; and your members instruments of righteousness unto God.

⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

⁶ For which thing's sake, the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.

¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness, in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth of Christ, that they might be saved.

¹ Now the Spirit speaketh expresly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, the doctrines of dæmons; ² Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with an hot iron;

⁹ He was the true light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

¹⁶ Who in the past generations suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. ¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave you rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.

²³ For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. What therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. ²⁴ God that made the world, and all things therein, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands: ²⁵ Neither is worshipped with mens hands, as though he was in need, for he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; ²⁶ And he made of one blood, every nation of man, to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times appointed, according to the bound of their habitation: ²⁷ Especially that they should seek what the deity is, if haply they might feel after it, or find it, though it [be] not far from every one of us: ²⁸ For in it we live, and move, and are; every day; as certain also of your own poets have said; For we are also his offspring. ²⁹ Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Deity is like either to gold, or silver, or stone, or to what is graven by art, or man's device. ³⁰ And the times of this ignorance God overlooked; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

²⁰ For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

⁴⁵ That ye may be children of your Father who is in the heavens; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

¹⁸ No one hath Seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].

²² If I had not come, and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

²⁹ Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Deity is like either to gold, or silver, or stone, or to what is graven by art, or man's device.

¹ Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye the defence which I make now unto you.

¹ Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest, does the same thing.

⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

¹⁶ Who only hath immortality, and dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and eternal power. Amen.

²⁷ By saith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

¹⁵ And one of them when he saw that he was cleansed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God. ¹⁶ And fell down on [his] face at his feet: and he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And Jesus answering said to them, Were there not ten cleansed? where [are] the nine? ¹⁸ None of them is found that will return to give glory to God, save this stranger.

¹⁹ And this is the judgement, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn [them] from darkness to light, and[from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them who are sanctified by faith that is in me.

¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkned, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for [his] mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

¹⁷ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as the Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, ¹⁸ Having the understanding darkened, being alienated fro the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

² For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

¹⁸ Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, silver and gold, from your vain conversation by tradition from your fathers;

⁷ Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea and the fountains of waters.

⁴ Who shall not fear [thee,] O Lord, and glorify thy name? for [thou] only [art] holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest O Lord.

²³ But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

¹⁹ It is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. ²⁰ Where [is] the wise? where the scribe? where the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? ²¹ For after that, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself with vain words. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God: for it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

²⁵ Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

² Ye know that when ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

³ For the time past may suffice to have wrought the will of te Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

²⁰ And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues, yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship daemons, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood: which neither can see, nor bear, nor walk:

¹⁴ Let these that are blind alone: they be blind leaders. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

¹⁶ Who in the past generations suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.

²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature and use: ²⁷ And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. ²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient:

¹² Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it. ¹³ Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body [is] not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

¹⁸ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doth, is without the body: but he that committeth fornication, sinneth against his own body.

¹⁸ Having the understanding darkened, being alienated fro the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: ¹⁹ Who despairing, have given themselves over to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness and greediness.

⁴ That every one of you should know how to posses his vessel in sanctification and honour;

¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness, in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth of Christ, that they might be saved. ¹¹ For this cause God sends them strong delusion, that they shall believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

²⁰ But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold, and of silver, but also of wood, and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. ²¹ If a man therefore purge himself from those, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, meet for the masters use, prepared unto every good work. ²² Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

²⁴ No one can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon:

³⁷ He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me:

⁸ And Jesus saith unto them, Draw out now and bear unto the steward of the feast.  And they bear [it].

¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness, and unrighteousness of those men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.

²³ And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God, into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things.

⁹ For they themselves shew of us, what manner of entring in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God,

⁴ Treacherous, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more that lovers of God;

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of God is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world,

²⁴ Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

⁹ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

¹⁹ Who despairing, have given themselves over to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness and greediness.

¹² For it is a shame even, to speak of those very things which are done of them in secret.

⁵ Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not the Lord.

¹⁰ For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men-stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,

⁷ Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, in like manner with these, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the resemblance of eternal fire.

¹⁰ But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts; in those things they corrupt themselves.

²³ And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God, into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. ²⁴ Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

³² And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again also of this matter.

²¹ Because that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkned.

²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature and use:

⁷ Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. ⁸ So then they that are in the flesh, cannot please God.

³⁴ Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

⁴ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine. ⁵ For we preach not our selves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and our selves your servants for Jesus sake. ⁶ For God commanded the light to shine out of darkness, [and] hath shined in our hearts, to illuminate the knowledge of his glory, in the person of Jesus Christ.

⁵ Examine your selves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves: know ye not your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? ⁶ But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. ⁷ Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

⁴ [Neither] filthiness, [nor] foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

⁸ In a flame of fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:

⁸ Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

¹⁶ They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

⁸ Wherefore though I might be much bold in Christ, to enjoyn thee that which is convenient,

⁵ For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water, and in the water.

¹⁰ As it is written, there is none righteous, not one:

²⁰ For I fear lest when I come I shall not find you such as I would, and I shall be found unto you such as ye would not:lest [there be] debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

⁴ For God said, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

²¹ From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders, and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days arise again.

¹⁶ And ye will be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and [some] of you will they cause to be put to death.

⁷ The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testifie of it, that the works thereof are evil.

²³ He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no one else had done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen me, and hated me and my Father.

³⁶ For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be a great man, and to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who came to nought of himself, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

¹⁷ But if thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God;

²³ Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

²⁷ Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No: but of the law of faith.

¹⁵ Not boasting of things without the measure of other mens labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,

⁴ Who opposeth and exateth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

⁵ In like manner also the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold how little a fire how great a matter it kindleth.

¹⁶ But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling [words] of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that in some measure escape from them who live in error:

¹⁶ These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words]; respecters of persons, because of advantage.

¹⁶ And he said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

²⁰ For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: ²¹ Because that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkned.

¹¹ There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

³ Without natural affection, truce breakers, false-accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

¹⁰ And Judas Scarioth, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him. ¹¹ And they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

⁴⁸ Bear ye therefore witness that ye do not allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, but ye build [their sepulchres.]

¹ And at that time there was a great persecution and affliction upon the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles, who tarried at Jerusalem.

²⁰ And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I was standing by, and consenting, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

¹ Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest, does the same thing. ² But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth, against them who commit such things. ³ And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them who do such things, and dost the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? ⁴ Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? ⁵ But after thy hardness and impenitent heart, treasurest up unto thy self wrath against the day of wrath, and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

²¹ What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are now ashamed? for truly the end of those things [is] death.
