³ For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

²⁹ But he willing to justifie him self, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my fathers have bread more than enough, and I here perish with hunger! ¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, ¹⁹ I am no longer worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. ²⁰ And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. ²¹ And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee,I am no longer worthy to be called thy son: Make me as one of thy hired servants.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Ye are they who justifie your selves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is high amongst men, [is] abomination in the sight of God.

⁹ And he spake unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised other men: ¹⁰ Two men went up to the temple to pray; one a Pharisee, and one a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed thus, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I posses.

⁹ Of sin indeed, because the believe not on me; ¹⁰ And of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye see me no more;

¹⁷ For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

²² Even the righteousness of God by faith of Jesus Christ unto all, and upon all them that believe; for there is no difference:

²⁶ To declare at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him who believeth in Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners: so by the obedience of one man, shall many be made righteous.

³⁰ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles who follow not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith: ³¹ But Israel, which followed after the law, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. ³² Wherefore? Because it was not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law: They stumbled at that stumbling stone;

²¹ He hath made him sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

³ For I testify to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debter to do the whole law. ⁴ Christ is become of no effect unto you; whosoever of you are justified by the law, ye are fallen from grace.

⁹ And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

¹⁷ Because thou sayst, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. ¹⁸ I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayst be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayst be clothed, and the shame of thy nakedness may not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye-salve, that thou mayst see.
