1 John 4:14 Cross References - Williams

¹⁴ We have seen and now testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Saviour of the world.

¹⁴ So the Word became human and lived a little while among us, and we actually saw His glory, the glory of One who is an only Son from His Father, and He was full of spiritual blessing and truth.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and he said, "Look! He is the Lamb of God who is to take away the world's sin.

¹¹ I most solemnly say to you, we know what we are talking about and we have seen what we are testifying to, yet you are all rejecting our testimony.

¹⁶ "For God loved the world so much that He gave His Only Son, so that anyone who trusts in Him may never perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God sent His Son into the world, not to pass sentence on it, but that the world through Him might be saved.

³² He continues to bear testimony to what He has actually seen and heard, and yet no one accepts His testimony.

³⁴ For He whom God has sent continues to speak the words of God, for God continues to give Him the Spirit without measure.

⁴² and they were saying to the woman, "It is not merely because of what you said that we now believe, for we have heard Him ourselves, and we know that He is really the Saviour of the world."

³⁶ But I have testimony that is higher than John's, for the works which my Father has committed to me to finish, the very works that I am doing, testify to me that the Father has sent me; ³⁷ yes, the Father who has sent me has testified to me Himself. You have never heard His voice nor seen His form;

³⁹ "You keep on searching the Scriptures, for you yourselves suppose that you will get possession of eternal life through them; and yet they are witnesses that testify to me,

³⁶ do you now say to me whom my Father has set apart to it and sent into the world, 'You are a blasphemer,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

⁴⁷ If anyone hears my words and fails to keep them, it is not I that judge him, for I have not come to judge but to save the world.

²⁶ "When the Helper comes whom I will send from the Father to you, the Spirit of truth that comes from the Father, He will testify to me. ²⁷ And you too are to bear testimony to me, because you have been with me from the start."

¹² By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I regard him, I have written you this short letter, to encourage you and to testify that this is the true, unmerited favor of God. Stand firm in it.

¹ It is what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our own eyes, what we have beheld, what our own hands have touched, about the very message of life -- ² and that life has been unveiled to us, and we have seen it and now testify to it and we now announce it to you, yea, the eternal life that was with the Father and has been unveiled to us. ³ I repeat, it is what we have seen and heard that we now announce to you, so that you too may share this fellowship with us, for this fellowship that we have is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ;

¹ My dear children, I am writing you this so that you may not sin; yet if anyone ever sins, we have One who pleads our case with the Father, Jesus Christ, One who is righteous. ² And He is Himself the atoning sacrifice for our sins; and not for ours alone, but also for the whole world.

¹⁰ In this way is seen the true love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

⁹ If we accept the testimony of men, the testimony of God is stronger still; because this is the testimony that God has borne to His Son.
