¹³ took palm branches and went out to meet Him, and kept on shouting: "Blessings on Him! Blessed be He who comes in the name of the Lord; Blessings on the King of Israel!"

⁹ And the crowds that went in front of Him and followed Him shouted: "Welcome the Son of David! Blessed be He who comes in the name of the Lord; Welcome Him from on high!" ¹⁰ When He came into Jerusalem, the whole city was trembling with excitement, and asking, "Who is He?" ¹¹ And the crowds kept saying, "He is the prophet Jesus of Nazareth in Galilee."

³⁹ For I tell you, you will never see me again until you say, 'Blessed be He who comes in the name of the Lord.'"

⁸ And many of the people spread their coats in the road, while others scattered layers of leaves cut from the fields. ⁹ Then those in front and those behind Him shouted: "Welcome Him! Blessed be He who comes in the name of the Lord; ¹⁰ Blessed be the coming reign of our father David! Welcome Him from on high!"

³⁵ So they brought it to Jesus. ³⁶ Then they threw their coats upon it and mounted Jesus upon it. As He was going on, the people continued to spread their coats under Him on the road. ³⁷ Just as He was approaching the city, going down the Mount of Olives, the whole throng of the disciples began to praise God exultantly and loudly for all the wonder-works that they had seen, ³⁸ and said: "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; peace in heaven and praise on high!"

⁴⁹ Nathaniel answered Him, "Teacher, you are the Son of God, you are the king of Israel!"

¹⁵ But they shouted, "Kill Him! Kill Him! Crucify Him!" Pilate said to them, "Must I crucify your king?" The high priests answered, "We have no king but the emperor!"

¹⁹ Pilate had a placard written and had it put over the cross: "JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS." ²⁰ Many of the Jews read this placard, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. ²¹ So the high priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "You must not write, 'The king of the Jews,' but write, 'He said, I am the king of the Jews.'" ²² Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written!"

⁹ After this I looked, and there was a vast throng that no one could count from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

³ And they were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb: "Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God, Almighty One; upright and true your ways, O King of the ages.

¹⁶ On His garment and on His thigh He has this title written: King of kings and Lord of lords.
