³ Now eternal life means knowing you as the only true God and knowing Jesus your messenger as Christ.

³⁷ "Whoever, as a disciple of mine, welcomes one little child like this, welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me, welcomes not merely me but Him who sent me."

⁴⁸ Then He said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child on my account is welcoming me, and whoever welcomes me is welcoming Him who sent me; for the one who is lowliest among you all is really great."

¹⁷ For God sent His Son into the world, not to pass sentence on it, but that the world through Him might be saved.

³⁴ For He whom God has sent continues to speak the words of God, for God continues to give Him the Spirit without measure.

³⁶ But I have testimony that is higher than John's, for the works which my Father has committed to me to finish, the very works that I am doing, testify to me that the Father has sent me; ³⁷ yes, the Father who has sent me has testified to me Himself. You have never heard His voice nor seen His form;

⁴⁴ How can you believe, you who are always accepting honor from one another, but never seek the honor that comes from the one God?

²⁷ Stop toiling for the food that perishes, but toil for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for God the Father has given Him authority to do so." ²⁸ Then they asked Him, "What must we do to perform the works that God demands?" ²⁹ Jesus answered them, "The work that God demands of you is this, to believe in the messenger whom He has sent."

⁵⁷ Just as the living Father has sent me and I live because of the Father, so whoever keeps on eating me will live because of me.

²⁹ I know Him myself, because I have come from Him, and He has sent me."

¹⁹ Then they began to say to Him, "Where is your Father?" Jesus answered, "You do not know either me or my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father too."

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, such glory amounts to nothing. It is the Father who glorifies me; and you claim that He is your God. ⁵⁵ And yet you have not learned to know Him; but I know Him, and if I say I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you. On the other hand, I do know Him and I do follow His teaching.

³⁶ do you now say to me whom my Father has set apart to it and sent into the world, 'You are a blasphemer,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

⁴² yes, I knew that you always listen to me. But I have said this for the sake of the crowd that is standing by, that they may come to believe that you have sent me."

⁴⁹ This is because I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who has sent me has given me orders Himself what to say and what to tell. ⁵⁰ And I know that His orders mean eternal life. So whatever I speak I am speaking as the Father has told me."

⁹ Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you disciples so long, and yet you, Philip, have not recognized me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Let us see the Father'? ¹⁰ Do you not believe that I am in union with the Father and that the Father is in union with me? I am not saying these things on my own authority, but the Father who always remains in union with me is doing these things Himself.

²⁶ But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send to represent me, will teach you everything Himself, and cause you to remember everything that I have told you.

⁸ for I have given them the teachings that you gave me, and they have accepted them, and they have come to know in reality that I did come from you, and so they are convinced that you did send me.

²¹ for them all to be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I in union with you, for them to be in union with us, so that the world may be convinced that you have sent me.

²³ I in union with them and you in union with me, so that they may be perfectly united, and the world may be sure that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you have loved me.

²⁵ Righteous Father, although the world did not know you, I did know you, and these men have come to know that you sent me,

⁴ So, as to eating things that have been sacrificed to idols, we are sure that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but One.

³⁴ Sober up, as is right, and stop sinning, for some of you -- to your shame I say so -- are without any true knowledge of God.

⁶ For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in my heart, to give me the light of the knowledge of God's glory, reflected on the face of Christ.

⁹ For the people themselves tell us what a welcome you gave us, and how you turned from idols to the true God, to serve the God who lives on and is real,

⁸ in a flame of fire, who will take vengeance on those who do not know God, that is, those who will not listen to the good news of our Lord Jesus.

¹⁵ which will be brought about in His own time by the blessed, only Sovereign, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, ¹⁶ who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

¹¹ And each one teach his brother, saying, "Know the Lord," For all will know me, from the lowest to the highest. ¹² For I will be merciful to their deeds of wrong, and never, never any more will I recall their sins,'"

⁶ We are children of God. Whoever knows God by experience listens to us; whoever is not a child of God does not listen to us. This is the way to distinguish a true spiritual utterance from one that is false.

¹⁴ We have seen and now testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever owns that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in union with him and he in union with God.

¹¹ And this testimony is that God has given us eternal life, and this life is given through union with His Son. ¹² Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son does not have life.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us insight to recognize the True One; and we are in union with the True One through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
