¹³ For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ;

²⁴ And he who received the one talent, coming near said, 'Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man; reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter;

¹ And some, coming down from Judaea, were teaching the brethren, "Unless ye be circumcised after the custom of Moses, ye cannot be saved."

²⁴ Forasmuch as we heard that some from among us troubled you with words, unsettling your souls—to whom we gave no directions;

³⁰ and from among yourselves will men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

¹⁸ For those who are such are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and, through their kind words and flattering speeches, they beguile the hearts of the simple.

¹⁷ For we are not as the many, making merchandise of the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.

² but we renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, not handling the word of God deceitfully; but, by the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

¹⁵ It is no great thing, therefore, if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness; whose end will be according to their works.

⁷ which is not another; only there are some who are troubling you, and wishing to pervert the Gospel of Christ.

⁴ and that was because of the false brethren secretly introduced, who, indeed, crept in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage;

¹⁷ They are zealously seeking you, not nobly; they are wishing to shut you out, that ye may zealously seek them.

¹² As many as wish to make a fair show in the flesh, these constrain you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

¹⁴ that we may no longer be babes, billow-tossed, and carried about with every wind of teaching, in the sleight of men, in the craftiness suited to the artifice of error;

¹⁵ Some, indeed, preach Christ even because of envy and strife; and some also of good-will; ¹⁶ the one, from love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the Gospel;

² Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil-workers, beware of the mutilation.

⁴ This I say, that no one may delude you with persuasive speech;

⁸ Beware, lest there should be any one who makes a spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceits, according to the tradition of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not according to Christ;

⁴ nor to give heed to fables and endless genealogies; which, indeed, occasion disputes rather than God's dispensation, which is in faith, so do I now. ⁵ But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and of faith unfeigned; ⁶ which some having missed turned aside to vain talk; ⁷ wishing to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they confidently affirm.

¹ But the Spirit expressly saith, that in later times, some will fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and to teachings of demons, ² in hypocrisy of men speaking lies, branded in their own conscience with a hot iron; ³ forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods, which God created for reception with thanksgiving by those who believe and have full knowledge of the truth.

³ If anyone teaches otherwise, and consents not to healthful words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the teaching according to godliness, ⁴ he has become puffed up, knowing nothing, but morbid about questions and word-battles, out of which come envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, ⁵ wranglings of men corrupted in mind and bereft of the truth, supposing godliness to be a source of gain.

¹⁷ and their word will spread, as a gangrene; of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; ¹⁸ who erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and are overthrowing the faith of some. ¹⁹ Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God has been standing, having this seal, "The Lord knew those who are His:" and "Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness."

⁵ holding a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from these also turn away. ⁶ For of these are those who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, and led on by manifold desires, ⁷ always learning, and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth. ⁸ And as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so also do these withstand the truth; men utterly corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith. ⁹ But they will proceed no further; for their folly will be fully manifest to all, as theirs also became.

³ For there will be a time when they will not endure the healthful teaching; but, having itching ears, they will for themselves heap up teachers according to their own desires; ⁴ and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to the fables.

¹⁰ For there are many unruly men, vain-talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, ¹¹ whom it is needful to reduce to silence: who, indeed, are overthrowing whole houses, teaching what they ought not, for the sake of base gain.

¹ But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers, who, indeed, will stealthily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction: ² and many will follow their lascivious doings; by reason of whom the way of the truth will be defamed; ³ and, in covetousness, will they, with feigned words, make merchandise of you; for whom the judgment from of old lingers not, and their destruction slumbers not.

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour; and, as ye heard that Anti-Christ is coming, even now many anti-christs have arisen; whence we know that it is the last hour.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

⁷ Because many deceivers went out into the world, who confess not Jesus Christ as coming in flesh. This is the deceiver and the Anti-Christ. ⁸ Take heed to yourselves, that ye lose not the things which we wrought, but that ye receive a full reward. ⁹ Every one who leads forward, and abides not in the teaching of Christ, has not God. He that abides in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If anyone comes to you, and brings not this teaching, receive him not into your house, and say not to him, "Greeting," ¹¹ for he that says to him, "Greeting," partakes in his evil works.

⁴ For there crept in stealthily certain men, who of old were set forth for this condemnation, ungodly men, changing the grace of our God into lasciviousness; and denying the only Master and our Lord Jesus Christ.

² "I know your works and your toil, and your patience, and that you cannot bear evil men; and you tried those who call themselves apostles, and are not, and found them false;

⁹ "I know your tribulation, and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

²⁰ But I have it against you, that you suffer the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess; and she teaches and seduces My servants to commit fornication, and to eat idol-sacrifices.

²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his presence, with which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast, and who worshiped his image. The two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burns with brimstone.
