² for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, intemperate, fierce, no lovers of good, ⁴ traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; ⁵ holding a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from these also turn away. ⁶ For of these are those who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, and led on by manifold desires,

¹⁶ They profess to know God; but by their works they deny Him; being abominable, and disobedient, and for every good work worthless.

¹ My brethren, become not many of you teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater judgment.
