²⁶ And He said to him, "What has been written in the law? How do you read?" ²⁷ And he, answering, said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

³³ Sell what ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses that grow not old, a treasure unfailing in Heaven, where no thief approaches, nor moth corrupts;

And the rich man also died, and was buried; ²³ and in Hades, lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. ²⁴ And, crying, he said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; because I am in anguish in this flame!' ²⁵ But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that, in your lifetime, you received in full your good things, and Lazarus, likewise, evil things; but now here he is comforted, and you are in anguish. ²⁶ And, in all these things, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed; so that those wishing to cross from hence to you cannot; nor do they pass from thence to us.' ²⁷ And he said, 'I pray you, therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house; ²⁸ for I have five brothers; that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.'

¹¹ The Pharisee, having taken his stand, was praying these things with himself: 'God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax-collector! ¹² I fast twice on the Sabbath; I give a tenth of all that I acquire.' ¹³ "But the tax-collector, standing afar off, would not lift up even his eyes to heaven, but was smiting his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!' ¹⁴ I say to you, this man went down justified to his house, rather than the other; because every one who exalts himself shall be humbled, but he who humbles himself shall be exalted." ¹⁵ And they were bringing to Him their babes, also, that He might touch them; but the disciples, seeing it, were rebuking them. ¹⁶ But Jesus called them to Him, saying, "Suffer the little children to come to Me, and forbid them not; for to such belongs the Kingdom of God. ¹⁷ Verily I say to you, whosoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, shall in no wise enter therein." ¹⁸ And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, "Good Teacher, by doing what shall I inherit eternal life?" ¹⁹ And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good, but One—God. ²⁰ You know the commandments, 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not kill,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Honor your father and your mother.'"

³⁴ for ye both sympathized with those in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your possessions; knowing that ye yourselves have a better possession and an abiding one.

⁴ Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

⁹ But let the lowly brother glory in his high station; ¹⁰ and the rich, in his humiliation; because, as a flower of grass, he shall pass away. ¹¹ For the sun arose with scorching heat, and withered the grass, and its flower fell out, and the beauty of its appearance perished, so also will the rich man fade away in his goings.

¹⁷ Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the lights, with Whom there is no variableness or shadow cast by turning.

⁶ But ye dishonored the poor man! Do not the rich oppress you, and do they not drag you before the judgment-seats?

⁸ If, however, ye fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," ye do well;

¹⁰ For whosoever keeps the whole law, but stumbles in one point, has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For He Who said, "Do not commit adultery," said also, "Do not kill." Now, if you do not commit adultery, but kill, you have become a transgressor of the law.

¹ Come now, ye rich, weep, howling over your miseries that are coming upon you! ² Your wealth has become corrupted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver are covered with rust, and their rust will be for a witness against you, and will eat your flesh, as fire. Ye laid up treasures in the last days! ⁴ Behold, the hire of the workmen who mowed down your fields, which is fraudulently kept back by you, is crying out; and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.

¹ Having, therefore, put away all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisy, and envies, and all evil speakings, ² as new-born babes, long ye for the spiritual, unadulterated milk, that thereby ye may grow unto salvation,

¹⁴ If ye are reproached in Christ's name, happy are ye, because the Spirit of glory and that of God rests upon you.

¹³ But, according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness,

² (and the Life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you The Eternal Life; Who, indeed, was with the Father, and was manifested to us);

²⁵ And this is the promise which He Himself promised us, the eternal life.

⁸ He that loves not never knew God; because God is love. ⁹ In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins.

¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abideth in him.

¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He that has the Son has the life; he that has not the Son of God has not the life. ¹³ These things I wrote to you who believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God hath come, and hath given us understanding, that we may know the True One: and we are in the True One—in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the True God, and eternal life.

⁷ for on behalf of His name they went forth, taking nothing from the gentiles.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

²⁶ And he that overcomes, and he that keeps My works until the end, to him will I give authority over the nations; ²⁷ and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of earthenware are broken in pieces, as I also have received from My Father;

²¹ He that overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with Me in My throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with My Father in His throne.

⁴ and around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones twenty-four elders sitting, arrayed in white garments, and on their heads crowns of gold.

⁴ And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.

¹ And a great sign was seen in the heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars;

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them; and judgment was given to them; and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus, and because of the word of God; and such as worshiped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and Him Who was sitting thereon, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of the things that were written in the books, according to their works. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them; and they were judged, every one, according to their works. ¹⁴ And Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, even the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And, if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

⁵ And He Who sits upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He saith to me, "Write; because these words are faithful and true."

¹² having a wall great and high; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names inscribed, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel; ¹³ on the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates; ¹⁴ and the wall of the city, having twelve foundations; and on them, twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

² in the midst of its street. And on either side of the river, was a tree of life, producing twelve fruits, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
