¹⁰ And then will many be caused to stumble, and will deliver up one another, and hate one another;

²¹ "And brother will deliver up brother to death; and father, his child; and children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

³⁵ for I came to set a man at variance with his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; ³⁶ and the man's foes will be those of his own house-hold.

⁶ And happy is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in Me."

²¹ yet he has not root in himself, but is only temporary; and, when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, straightway he stumbles.

⁵⁷ And they were finding in Him occasion to stumble. And Jesus said to them "a prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house."

³¹ Then Jesus saith to them, "All ye will be made to stumble because of Me this night; for it has been written, 'I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered abroad.' ³² But, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee." ³³ But Peter, answering, said to Him, "If all should be made to stumble because of Thee, I will never be made to stumble." ³⁴ Jesus said to him, "Verily I say to you, that this night, before a cock crows, you will thrice deny Me."
