¹⁴ For the love of Christ constraineth us, being fully persuaded of this, that if One died for all, then were all dead.

³⁷ He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me: ³⁸ and he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

²⁸ as the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.

⁴² and they not being able to pay him, he freely forgave them both: tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? ⁴³ And Simon answered, I suppose he to whom he forgave most. And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged: ⁴⁴ and turning to the woman, He said to Simon, Dost thou see this woman? I came into thine house, and thou gavest me no water for my feet; but she has bathed my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me not the respect of a kiss; but this woman, ever since she came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet. ⁴⁶ Thou didst not anoint my head with common oil, but she hath anointed even my feet with sweet ointment. ⁴⁷ Wherefore, I tell thee, her sins though many are forgiven, for she loved much: but he to whom little is forgiven, loveth but little.

²⁴ for this my son was dead, and is alive again, and was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.

³² But it was fit we should be merry and rejoice; for this thy brother was dead, and is come to life again, was lost and is found.

²⁹ And they pressed Him, saying, Stay with us, for it is towards evening, and the day is far spent. And He went in to tarry with them.

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming towards him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.

²⁵ Verily, verily I tell you, that the time is coming, and even now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live.

²⁵ Jesus then told her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth on me, though he were dead, shall live again.

⁵⁰ nor do ye consider, that it is better for us that one man should die for the people, than that the whole nation should perish. ⁵¹ This however he spake not of himself, but being high-priest at that time he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation: ⁵² and not for the Jewish nation only, but that he might also gather together the children of God that are dispersed.

²¹ He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest my self to him. ²² Judas (not the Iscariot) saith unto Him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thy self to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him.

¹⁵ Now when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon son of Jonas, dost thou love me more than these? He saith unto Him, Yes, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He saith to him again the second time, Simon son of Jonas, dost thou love me? He saith unto Him, Yes, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee. ¹⁷ He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon son of Jonas, dost thou love me? Peter was grieved, that He said to him the third time, Dost thou love me? And he said unto Him, Lord, Thou knowest all things, Thou knowest that I love Thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answered them, and said, Whether it be right in the sight of God to obey you rather than God, judge ye: ²⁰ for we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

⁵ And when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was very urgent in spirit, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.

² But we know that the judgement of God is according to truth against those that do such things.

¹⁵ But not as the offence, so also is the free gift: for if through the offence of one many died, much more hath the grace of God, and the gift bestowed by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

⁷ For none of us liveth to himself, and no one dieth to himself: ⁸ but if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and lives again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

²² If any one love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be made a curse.

⁷ Now if the ministration of death which was in writing, and engraven on stones, was so glorious that the children of Israel could not look stedfastly on the face of Moses, because of the lustre of his countenance, which was to be taken away:

⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation was so glorious, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory:

⁸ I speak not by way of command, but to prove the sincerity of your love also, by means of the forwardness of others. ⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye by his poverty might be rich.

²⁰ I am crucified with Christ; yet I live, though no longer I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave up himself for me.

¹ And you hath he made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins, ² in which ye formerly walked after the manner of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that still operates in the children of disobedience: ³ among whom also we were all conversant heretofore in our carnal desires, indulging the appetites of the flesh and of our imaginations; and were by nature children of wrath, even as others. ⁴ But God being rich in mercy, through his great love wherewith He loved us, ⁵ hath made us alive in Christ, even when we were dead in trespasses, (for by grace ye are saved) and hath raised us up together,

¹⁸ that ye may be able, with all the saints, to comprehend what is the breadth, and length, and depth, ¹⁹ and height, and to know the love of Christ, which surpasseth knowledge; that ye may be filled according to the abundant fulness of God.

²⁴ Grace be with all that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

¹³ And when ye were dead in trespasses, and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

⁶ who gave himself a ransom for all, a testimony to be published in due time,

⁶ But she that indulgeth to luxury, is dead while she liveth.

³ For we also were formerly foolish, disobedient, going astray, enslaved to various disorderly appetites and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, in order to suffer death, that by the grace of God He might taste death for every man, crowned with glory and honor.

¹⁰ For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewn to his name, by having ministred to the saints, and yet ministring.

⁸ whom having not seen ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing ye rejoice with joy ineffable and full of glory; receiving the end of your faith,

¹ My little children, I write these things unto you, that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. ² And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth under the wicked one.
