²⁴ But none of these things move me, nor do I account my life dear, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

¹⁰ and the angel said to them, Be not affrighted; for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people, ¹¹ that this day is born, in the city of David, your Saviour Christ the Lord.

²⁷ And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

⁴ I have glorified Thee on earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do:

¹⁷ for he was numbered with us, and had obtained a part of this ministry.

¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way, for he is the instrument I have chosen, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

²³ Who, when he was come, and saw the grace of God, rejoiced, and exhorted them all with steadiness of heart to adhere to the Lord.

³ They therefore stayed a considerable time speaking freely of the Lord, who bare witness to the word of his grace, and gave signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

²¹ testifying both to the Jews and Greeks, repentance towards God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

³² And now, my brethren, I recommend you to God, and to the word of his grace: who is able to edify you, and to give you an inheritance among all that are sanctified.

¹³ But Paul answered, What do ye mean, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²¹ But he said unto me, Go away; for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.---

¹⁷ delivering thee from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I now send thee, ¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto God; that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

²⁴ being justified freely by his grace, because of the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: ²⁵ whom God hath appointed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, in the remission of past sins, according to the forbearance of God; ²⁶ for a demonstration, I say, of his righteousness at this time: that He might be just, and the justifier of him, that believeth in Jesus.

⁴ Now to him that worketh the reward is not reckoned as a favor, but as a debt:

²⁰ Now the law made some entrance, that the offence might appear to abound; but where sin abounded, grace hath superabounded; that as sin had reigned in death, ²¹ so grace might reign through righteousness, unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ (as it is written, "for thy sake we are killed all the day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter:") ³⁷ but in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things future, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁶ And if by grace, it is no more of works: for then grace is no longer grace. But if of works, it is no more grace: for then work is no longer work.

¹⁷ Now if I do this willingly, I have a reward; and if unwillingly, yet I am intrusted with the commission, and I must execute it. ¹⁸ What is my reward then but this? that when I preach I may make the gospel of Christ not expensive, that so I may not abuse my power in the gospel.

²⁴ Know ye not, that those, who run in a race, do all indeed run, but one only receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain. ²⁵ And every one that enters the lists is temperate in all things: they indeed do it that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible one. ²⁶ I therefore so run, not as unobserved: I so fight, not as one that beateth the air: ²⁷ but I mortify my body and bring it into subjection, least after having preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

⁵⁸ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, since ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹ Therefore having received this ministry, as we have obtained mercy, we are not disheartened:

⁸ being afflicted on every side, but not oppressed; perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ persecuted, but not forsaken;

¹⁶ For which cause we are not disheartened: but though our outward man decayeth, yet the inward man is renewed daily. ¹⁷ For our short and light affliction is working out for us an infinite and eternal weight of glory, as we aim not at the things which are visible, but invisible: ¹⁸ for those, which are visible, are temporary, but the invisible are eternal.

⁸ and well-pleased rather to be absent from the body, and to dwell with the Lord.

⁴ but in every thing approving ourselves as the ministers of God; by much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in straits, ⁵ in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watchings, in fastings; ⁶ by purity, by knowledge, by long-suffering, by kindness, by the holy Spirit, ⁷ by love unfeigned, by the word of truth, by the power of God, with the armour of righteousness on the right and on the left; through honor and dishonor, ⁸ through evil report and good report; ⁹ as deceivers, and yet true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, but not put to death; ¹⁰ as sorrowing, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing all things.

⁴ I use much freedom of speech to you, and I boast much of you: I am filled with comfort, and superabound in joy above all our affliction.

¹⁰ And therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, and in straits for the sake of Christ: for when I am thus weak, then am I made strong.

¹ Paul an apostle (not from men, nor by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead),

⁶ to the praise of his glorious grace, whereby He hath made us acceptable in the Beloved:

⁴ But God being rich in mercy, through his great love wherewith He loved us, ⁵ hath made us alive in Christ, even when we were dead in trespasses, (for by grace ye are saved) and hath raised us up together, ⁶ and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. ⁷ That in the ages to come He might shew the superabundant riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us through Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace ye are saved, through faith: and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not by works, that no one may boast: ⁹ for we are his workmanship, ¹⁰ created in Christ Jesus unto good works, for which God before prepared us, that we might walk in them.

¹³ Wherefore I desire that ye would not be discouraged at my afflictions on your account, which is your glory.

²⁰ According to my earnest expectation and hope, that I shall be put to shame in nothing; but that with all freedom of speech, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. ²¹ For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain: and if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor: ²² so that I know not what to chuse; ²³ for I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ, which is much preferable:

¹⁷ But if I be even poured forth as a libation on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and congratulate with you all.

¹³ Brethren, I count not myself to have attained it: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to those before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, attend to this: and if in any thing ye think differently, God will reveal this also unto you.

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up what is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

² But though we had suffered before and been injuriously treated, as ye know, at Philippi, we spake boldly in the name of our God to declare unto you the gospel of God with much conflict.

³ that no one might be shaken by these afflictions: for ye yourselves know that we are appointed hereunto.

¹² for which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed: for I know in whom I have trusted, and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him against that day.

¹¹ sufferings, which befel me at Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and how the Lord delivered me out of them all.

⁶ For I am now going to be sacrificed, and the time of my dissolution is near. ⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ As to what remains, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me in that day: and not to me only, but also to all those who have longed for his appearance.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that by me the gospel might be fully spread, and that all the nations might hear: and so I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

³ and hath in his own times manifested his word, by the preaching, with which I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour:

¹¹ For the grace of God, that bringeth salvation, hath appeared to all men;

⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour towards man appeared, ⁵ not for works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy Spirit; ⁶ which He hath plentifully shed upon us, through Jesus Christ our Saviour: ⁷ that being justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

³ how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which began to be declared by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that heard Him; ⁴ God also testifying together with them by signs, and wonders, and divers miracles, and gifts of the holy Spirit, according to his own will.

³⁴ for ye sympathized with me in my bonds, and ye took joyfully the plundering of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

¹ Having therefore so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every incumbrance, and the sin that easily besets us, and run with patience the race that is set before us, ² looking unto Jesus the leader and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ Wherefore consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, that ye may not give out, fainting in your minds:

¹² Thus I have written briefly by Silvanus, a faithful brother to you (as I judge) exhorting and testifying, that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

¹⁶ In this we know his love, that He laid down his life for us: and we should be ready to lay down our lives for the brethren.

¹¹ And they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their life unto the death.
