²³ And he commanded the centurion to keep Paul secure, and to let him have some liberty, and to hinder none of his friends from assisting him or coming to him.

⁸ On the morrow Paul and those that were with him departed from Ptolemais, and came to Cesarea; and entering into the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven deacons, we stayed with him. ⁹ And he had four daughters virgins, that were prophetesses. ¹⁰ And as we abode there several days, there came down from Judea a certain prophet named Agabus: ¹¹ and he came to us, and taking up Paul's girdle, and binding his own hands and feet, he said, Thus saith the holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man whose girdle this is, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. ¹² And when we heard these things, both we and those of the place intreated him not to go up to Jerusalem. ¹³ But Paul answered, What do ye mean, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. ¹⁴ And as he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

³⁵ I will hear thee, when thine accusers are also come. And he ordered him to be kept in Herod's palace.

²⁶ And hoping also that money would be given him by Paul, that he might discharge him; he sent for him the more frequently, and conversed with him.

³ And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius treating Paul with great humanity, permitted him to go to his friends to get proper supplies.

¹⁶ And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was permitted to live by himself with the soldier that had him in custody.
